What a fantastic weekend

Monday, June 10, 2013

13 years of being taught at home, traditionally and then with the charter school (PAVCS) reached its peak saturday with my daughter's high school graduation. Wow time has flown by way to quickly! (the only lingering effects seem to be her sore legs from dancing at the prom which was held after graduation). Now she gets to go to Hawaii with one set of grandparents for 10 days (their graduation gift to her) and then it will be getting ready for college.....

Stress busting challenge

Tuesday, May 21, 2013

This stress journal is pretty neat. Just writing what the stress was and my reaction to it makes me more relaxed, not to mention making it easier to spot the next stress time. I am pleasantly surprised at how quickly I have noticed some results. Can't wait to see what it will be like at the end of the 4 weeks

Writing it down gets it out of your brain...release the stress and set it free!

Isn't it funny how writing it down can help put things in perspective?!? Good for you for making the commitment to do it!

Amazing.....

Tuesday, May 14, 2013

I recently read a blog that was in a spark people highlight email about someone who realized they DID have full control over how their spark journey worked out. It made me realize that I had been feeling like what I have been doing hasn't been helping myself get too far. The light bulb that went on was that I CAN change and that knowledge has perked me up alot, almost like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders......amazing

I'm watching my first small step become habit

Wednesday, October 26, 2011

This is really neat for me to see, I made my first attempt at a monthly water goal back in June. I remember thinking 'how am I going to drink all that water!' So I made my goal only 6 cups a day. Didn't make the goal that month so in July I decided to look at it a little differently.

I was being too critical of myself for every day in June that I didn't drink 6 cups; so in July I just focused on the goal for the month no matter how many I drank each day and I went past my July goal! (which was higher than June's)

Set Augusts higher than July and missed. Kept the same goal for Sept. and passed it. This month is the first month my goal equals an average of 8 cups a day (I am only 40 cups away from it). This past week I realized that to refill my cup as soon as it is empty and mark off on the water chart I keep on the refrigerator has become so much of a habit that I am surprised sometimes at how much I actually drank by the end of the day! This is so cool!

Next target... those elusive fruits and veggies. I love the new tracker for them on the nutrition page. It makes me want to see how many of them I can fill in. (right now I only get one a day)

I know you can do this. I keep watching you... waiting, getting inspired. You are capable of it. (and I am too!) So I'm sitting here watching and waiting some more :)

Good job on the tracker, it helps a lot. Just changing one thing at a time is a good idea, good luck with the fruits and veggies!
