Self sabotaging???

That's how I feel sometimes. I want to lose weight so I cut my calories back.
Eat a ton of veggies. emoticon emoticon emoticon
Stay away from the junk.
Pounds start coming off. emoticon
Then WHAM!!!
I get hit by fatigue, weakness and wobbliness. emoticon
Now I could understand if I was cutting my calories back to, say, 600 a day. But I'm not. I'm staying between 1100 and 1500 per day.
I haven't been exercising a whole lot. When I pedal on my bike I keep it on level 1, so it's not tiring. And I keep my pedal speed under 12 mph.
This past week I've noticed that I've been sleeping more and needing it. Then last night I felt the fatigue. Now today I'm very wobbly.
So I have to bump up my calories for a few day, quit exercising, and take it easy. So not what I want to be doing, but if I don't I'll have a major fatigue attack that will put me out for months. emoticon emoticon emoticon GRRRRR!!!
Oh well. That's my life. I will still watch my serving size and log. Hopefully this thing won't last to long.

But on the up side ... hubby goes back to work tomorrow!! After 2 months of sick leave because he has been dizzy ... I am so ready to get back to our normal routine! Hope you're having a great day! emoticon emoticon

Today I went with the hubs to Cheddar's Casual Cafe to celebrate his grandmothers 96 birthday. I know! 96 years old and still giving out orders and going out to eat! I hope I'm that way when I'm 96.
So anyways, I was a little concerned about their food and what I would eat, if anything. So I went online to see what was on their menu. A whole lot of fattening stuff with out the calories listed. But I saw a Vegetable plate. A salad or soup, and 4 side dishes. ... but what kind of side dishes ..... "Mac & Cheese, Steamed Fresh Broccoli, • Buttered Off-the-cob Corn, • Sweet Baby Carrots, • Freshly Made Coleslaw, • French Fries, • Idaho Mashed Potatoes, Broccoli Cheese Casserole, • Southern Green Beans, • Homemade Red Beans & Rice, Fresh Apple & Yogurt Medley."
So I got the salad with NO Ddressing, steamed broccoli, baby carrots, red beans and rice and apple & yogurt. The salad was big enough for a meal, it was probably a good 4 cups of lettuce plus tomatoes and shredded carrots. Then they brought out the veggie plate. OH MY GOODNESS!! It was enough for 2 people!! And so very good! the broccoli was steamed just a bit too long, but it still had a good flavor to it.
Hubby got the chicken tenders and french fries. Which he couldn't eat all of so it came home with all of the veggies!
So tonight I made chicken and cheese quesadillas for him and the kids and I had the rest of my veggies plus his fries! .... and now I'm stuffed again! haha!!
I could find the calories for their food so I had to use other places food, so my calorie count is probably off. I figured my dish was only 479 for all of it. .. not counting the fries. Which isn't bad.
I was really surprised that they had something like that. Just about every place you go to there is meat on everything. So I was able to keep my semi-vegan for another day. emoticon ... oh and I think I've lost more weight than I thought. Scale is showing a difference from yesterday! I might be close to a 5 pound loss. ... and I had cookies last night and my calories are staying between 1200 and 1500. I'll give a day or two before I do an official weigh in.

.... eating and wearing of them. .......

I stumbled a crossed a web site ... One Green Planet. And it's changing me.

Very slowly, daily.

The other day I decided that I needed to go back on a planned eating regimen. So I got a couple of my books and started looking at the meals. ..And I didn't like what I was seeing. They all had meat and eggs in them. ... I realized that I didn't want to eat that way. I didn't want meat or eggs. Not because it's expensive, or would cause health problems, but because I didn't want an animal to suffer for me to eat when I can plant products and be fed. I don't want a baby to suffer so I can have leather on my feet.

A few months ago I tried to go vegan and failed. I wanted meat. Now tho .... I don't. (well today I don't.) Today I don't even want to buy it for my family.
.... I've been saying for a few years now that I could go vegetarian and not have a problem with it ..... I think if I could find some vegan cheese that tasted like cheese I would go vegan.

I bought a new book called "Happy Herbivore" the other day, going to try some of the "meat" recipes on my family and see if they will eat it. If they do, I'll just need to find some non dairy cheese and my house will be vegan. (.... maybe that will make them get jobs and move out ..... or just get jobs and buys their own food! ~ my 20 and 24 year olds. hubby is happy with a peanut butter sandwich and cold cereal.~)

Well that's my thoughts for today. That web site has other good stuff on it, a lot of cute animal videos and vegan/vegetarian recipes. ... not just bad stuff about the way the animals that we eat are treated.

    I don't agree with you God made the cow to feed us mike, chicken to geed us eggs, etc/ abut if you can't tell your kids it's time to leave the home nest lie\ke we did our youngest he was 19 and working said time to be on your oun and he is so glad we did that I didn't mind him home for he did his share of helping around the place.
I think if you eat the way you said and your kids don't like it then you can say there's the door. good luck for they should be out on their.

smashed avocado for a dressing.

Yesterday I had slightly roasted some broccoli, cauliflower and carrots and wanted a dressing to put on it. Didn't want the calories and junk that the bottle stuff has, so I grabbed an avocado, cut it in half and mashed it up. I did add a drop of ranch dressing to make it a bit more creamer. Mixed it with my veggies and enjoyed it.
Well tonight I decided to do the same thing but add more stuff to it. Like black beans and half a tomato, some southwest seasoning and omitted the ranch dressing. I had around 170 grams of the veggies and 90 grams of the black beans. So just one serving of beans and two of the veggies. I've eaten half of it and I'M FULL!!! and I'm happy about being full!! .... I can eat the rest tomorrow, or later tonight as a free meal! emoticon

I've had guacamole and love it, but I have never thought about using a smashed avocado as a dressing. I know it crazy full of calories and fat, but oh so good for us. ... and none of the junk that is in the bottle stuff. I might have to try some on a lettuce salad.

I think my new drugs for my headaches are working slightly. They're not as bad, but still there. I thought I've been taking them for a few weeks, hubby pointed out it's only been one. so maybe by next week I will see more improvement. ... finger crossed! Down side is that they give me acid reflux ... BAD!!! Doc gave me a script for that too ... maybe that one will be working better next week as well!

Been kind of bummy this week, not wanting to do anything. I did get all the sanding done and now just need to start priming and painting. ... maybe Monday.

Oh ... I found a recipe for a Honey Lime Peach salsa the other day and will be trying that sometime soon ... maybe next week, peaches are still a little green. I'll let you guys know how it turns out!

..... But then food intake isn't the best. .... neither is exercise.
Still having problems with my head. New meds are helping a little, but not completely. .. Need to start a "REAL" headache/food/mood/time log. I'm starting to think that my hormones are having a little to do with them, but I'm also wondering about my food and it's affect on my hormones and mood.
I know that I'm not giving this my 100 % effort. Most days I just want to curl up and sleep/ hide from the world and eat junk food. Starting to wonder if I might be depressed. .... Think I'm going to start using my essential oils again and see what happens.
I'm still in this project. I got all the trim put back on the way it should be. Got my mess outside cleaned up. .... some tools are still sitting on the kitchen table. -might still need them.- Still have a few places to sand, then on to priming and painting. Then I have to prime and paint the laundry room and kitchen. Then put down new flooring in both rooms ... So I still have a lot to do. ... plus my day to day stuff. Some days I feel over whelmed! ... geee I wonder why???
Well today's agenda is to wash some storage containers that I have sitting around not being used and I have no need for them any more, so I'm going take them to our local food bank/thrift store. I'm sure they could use them, if not sell them. Then I'm going to sand the places that need it. (need to wash off the 6 foot ladder to bring it inside it use while painting.)
... then make me a log book with enough room to write every thing down. Having everything in one place will be easier to see a pattern.
Guess I need to get busy ..... I hope that you are able to get outside and enjoy some of this cooler weather that we are having and that you are having a wonderful day!
