Yesterday, I ate near my max on calories. Probably making up for the day before, which was about 200 calories under.
For me, Mindful Eating does not mean depriving myself of most of my food preferences. It does mean that I avoid foods that trigger cravings.
So I do avoid foods containing any kind of sugar, including corn syrup.
I occasionally eat honey, as it does not seem to trigger cravings in the same way.
I enjoy chocolate, so I occasionally eat the Hunts sugar free chocolate pudding and add about 6 or 8 almonds to it. It isn't a Hershey's chocolate and almond bar, but it is a great substitute.
I also find if I eat something mid-morning and mid-afternoon, I am less likely to lose control of my calories.
I have fresh veggies waiting for my lunch. Plus I made a big pot of veggie soup earlier this week. Add a little protein, and my lunch will be ready.
