New walking shoes are here!!!

Monday, August 20, 2012

I tried out my new walking shoes this morning and WOW what a difference. They are so comfortable and I do believe that they have given me more motivation to go out for that walk. Using my pedometer I walked about 2530 steps and burned 120 calories...according to the pedometer that is. AND that is just the start of my day. I hope to do some video 'E' stuff later this afternoon.

I LOVE pedometers, and of course having a shoe that is comfortable and offers support is important too. For me, with the way I had my ped set up, 2530 steps would equal about 1 mile + or -. It is my goal to get as close to 8,000 steps in every day, and at least 2 miles of it should be in brisk walking.

Good blog -- have a great day!

Back on track today

Saturday, August 18, 2012

WHEW! what a set back I had yesterday. I did manage to get in some of the 'E' stuff, but, didn't push it - just some stretching and very low impact stuff.

Have some new walking shoes which should help. I was just wearing some Keds and they don't really have the support and cushion that is needed for walking. Will give the new shoes a try out on Monday for sure.

Doing a bit better this evening

Friday, August 17, 2012

I guess it is my chronic fatigue that decided to mess things up for me today. I laid down and immediately fell asleep. About 4 hours later I was able to do some very low impact exercises. I hope to go for a short walk again tomorrow morning. Maybe that will help get my body out of the shock mode and into some healthy activities.

Not feeling well today

Friday, August 17, 2012

I'm just having a terrible time this morning. I'm motivated to do things, but, just can't seem to get with it. My fibro is bothering me quite a bit today, I just may have over done it a bit yesterday. I didn't really walk that far, but then...

Just can't do anymore today, see you all tomorrow or hopefully a bit later this evening.

The plan for the day

Thursday, August 16, 2012

I feel sooooo good today, well so far anyway emoticon. I decided last night that I would start walking, yes I said walking. I actually got up early today, got dressed, got my iPhone ready to listen to music, gathered the trash, and out the door I went. Emptied the trash and was on my way down the block. Walked for about 17 min and when I got back home I felt so invigorated emoticon . Guess what THEY have been saying all along about the 'E' word is coming to soak into my stubborn head. I know, it was a short walk, but, hey I am getting started on the new me. The plan here is to increase the time/distance each week then increase the number of days/week that I go for the invigorating 'E' stuff.

After the return, showered then decided on another first in years. That is having an actual breakfast. Fixed myself a scrambled egg and hash-browns...all measured of course. I even, get this now, sat a place at the dining room table and ate my breakfast. WHOA!!! cudos to me. I started sitting at the table yesterday for lunch & dinner.

Speaking of yesterday, I received my food scale just in time to prepare my fish tacos, yummmmy! I really wasn't that thrilled about eating at the table away from any entertainment during my meal, but, guess I will just have to suck it up and change my habits.

I'm going to change my goals a bit now. Here is my plan: 1. Continue to eat at the table, of course. 2. Go for a walk every Thursday morning (weather & medical condition permitting) and each week increase the time on my walk by 5 min. 3. Daily 'E' with a video. Does that sound like realistic goals?

To finish out my day today I will go to the Spark Recipe site and plan some meals. Probably make my own recipes to fit with what I have on hand at the moment. Need to rack up some Spark points too.

YOU ARE RIGHT ON TRACK!! You have realistic goals and a way to measure them. As you begin feeling stronger you may decide to walk two days a week....

I am so happy for you!
