Mind is motivated, body is not

Tuesday, September 04, 2012

The old muscles are not what they used to be. Not doing well at all. Afraid to go for a walk today. All the 'E' stuff is really bringing to light the Fibromyalgia, and I can't take any pain meds. Have been in the state of chronic fatigue (which goes along with the fibro).

I feel like I'm letting myself down. Feel terrible and look terrible.

Need assistance to make a decision

Friday, August 31, 2012

I found a couple of coordinating pillows to go with my newly found pillows. Need some help to figure out which goes best. The size that I'm getting is 12X20 and they will go on each side of the 16x16 pillow that is at an angle. Which of the 2 outside pillows will go better with the rose print pillows in the middle of the photo??

it would seem the vote is pretty even...so that means YOU are the deciding factor, as it should be

I have to agree with the others - I like the plaid. However, I think both patterns will work with the floral.

You wouldn't be the first to call me recalcitrant, when I would choose the stripes and everyone else likes the plaid.

Aesthetically, I think the size of the plaid pattern is more complimentary to the delicate floral pattern of your large center pillows.

Practically, you won't have to worry about which way the plaid pillows are turned. The stripes, both will have to be positioned with the intent to "frame" the floral center with some degree of synchronicity; the plaids can be turned any which way and both still look good.

I like the stripe....if I was going to pick the "plaid", I would want more of a plaid, not just a couple of skinny stripes going up & down and crosswise. emoticon

They are both pretty and I think either will look nice, but I like the plaid a little better. Have a good time with your redecorating!

I think I over did it today

Thursday, August 30, 2012

I set my timer for 45 min and walked a bit further. When I reached my destination I turned around and walked back home, going a slightly different way. Total time walking today was 80 min and I walked 2.96 miles burning 262 calories. However, my legs are in bad shape now. Hope it clears up for my Saturday walk.

I took a video, as usual, but for some reason I was having problems with Windows Live Movie Maker and it wasn't loading up all the little videos. Sorry, you can't go on my walk with me today.

Yesterday on our little shopping trip I found some pillows that I could use on my bed. I searched online last night for a throw to put across the foot of the bed, but, didn't have any luck. So, I decided to crochet an afghan. The pillows are a rose print with cream, green and white in it. I took, what I hope is, the dark rose color and hopefully match a Country Rose yarn. I should get the yarn in about a week, will let you know. I do think that I need either a couple of Country Rose or a green pillows to break up the rose print pillows. I'm thinking more of the rose color - that is if I can find them.

A great Wednesday adventure with a SPARKER

Wednesday, August 29, 2012

I have to tell you that I have been introduced to a great lady. We actually hooked up with each other via Riverside Sparkers Spark Team. We exchanged some emails and decided to meet for lunch. She picked me up and we drove to the Bann Thai Restaurant for some delicious food and some great conversation. After that we did a tad bit of shopping emoticon. There just might be some Mr. Rubidoux walking in the future.

I thoroughly enjoyed my adventure today. a HUGE THANK YOU NANCY.

Today sure was better

Tuesday, August 28, 2012

After my bout of not feeling well after my walk on Sunday, I was really hesitant in walking today. HOWEVER, it was a great walk and felt fine after emoticon. I walked 2.39 miles emoticon.

Decided to not use the pedometer and used my iPhone timer. Set it for 30 min and when the time was up I knew I turned around and took the same route back home, thus, giving me an 1 hr. of emoticon today. That worked out great.

My oldest grandchild graduated high school. Is he aging me or what??? I just can't believe how fast they grow up. Here is a photo of when he was in pre-school and graduated from there, although he called it 'grageation':

and his current graduation photo:

I love it when people do these vlogs of their walks and such. I think it is a great idea to set timer for 30 minutes and then turn around and walk back to get your hour in. Oh the places you can go! I might try this myself!

Hallelujah! I'm so glad you're feeling better, that whatever "visited" you made it a short visit.

Walking underneath such stately trees must have been pleasant. Will you get an autumn in southern California? I'm ashamed to say, I don't have a clue. Born and raised in Cleveland OH, all I have to do is THINK the word "autumn" and I can smell the crisp, dry earthy smell of dried leaves. Of course, now with my roots planted in central Florida, we miss out on that wonderful season, mostly: the acorns still fall, and that's always a mess to clean up.

Handsome grandson, there! From where did your ancestors come to give him the fair complexion and red hair?
