The weigh-in this morning reflected no loss, but I stayed at 180 which is perfectly fine for me. For those of you who have followed my blogs, I stayed at 182 for the longest time or went up and once or twice got to 181 and then went up again. So for me to stay at 180 for 2 weeks is a real improvement and a milestone in my book. I know I will start moving soon.

The switch to WW points from counting calories has been an emotional release. I'm not obsessing about food and what I can't have or shouldn't have. I'm not deprived and i'm now reveling in the fresh cherries and peaches in my fridge. My biggest problem is not logging in and recording my points like I should be. In my mind though, and through what I've learned already with WW, I know I'm keeping my points in check. However, I also know that this week, if I want to start losing, I need to log-in to WW and keep better track. And really push.

After church yesterday at our morning coffee, there was a lemon tart, spice cake, fresh fruit and an egg casserole. I passed on all of it, not even the fruit. I wasn't hungry. In the past, I would have had at least one of each and maybe 2 lemon tarts. My son has said that I need to go to the WW meetings but that kind of pressure isn't motivating to me. All I would need is to go in there and gain 1/2 pound and I'd be off on a binge. At this time, I am my own motivator. I'm not stuck to any rules I can't live with. I'm not limited to two fruits a day like I was on the Sonoma Diet. I don't have any date deadline on which I have to lose, like a wedding or some such thing. Ice cream isn't a forbidden food. I can go through Mcdonald's for an ice cream cone but it is 3 points so I need to think twice about it. When I was counting calories it was too easy to get one, too easy to cheat, much more restricting.

I hope this feeling of confidence sticks with me and isn't a fluke. I visualize myself with the pounds literally dropping off of me. Scheduling a walk with Pat Tuesdays, thursdays and most Saturdays is helping as well. This week is supposed to be hotter than last week. I don't know how it could be but yesterday afternoon, we had a thunderstorm and rain. All that did was raise the humidity to what must be 90% And over 100 degrees. It hits you in the face as soon as you walk out the door. Our only blessing is that we live near the water and always have some sort of breeze coming our way.

    If you feel you are doing well and not having to attend meetings thats okay. You will know when its time. You are a work in progress, congratulations on your choices and the fact that you are listening to your body tell you when you are hungry. That is such an important step in the weight loss journey. Congratulations

Now I'll have "ear worms"! - At least not bad ones.

I scored 26 - no peeking, honest! A few lucky guesses or eliminations - I was addicted to the local rock n roll station, WQXI - the Quicksie in Dixie - and fell asleep listening to the transistor radio, with an earplug.

Good luck with de-cluttering, garage sale and rearranging the office. And especially food tracking, by any system - a slip isn't the end, get up, dust off, and "Keep on Pushin" - you have been good at that - an inspiration!

August 14 is National Garage Sale Day! And August 15th is National Relaxation Day! Read that somewhere yesterday. You need relaxation after the garage sale! We are going to be getting ready for a BIG garage sale soon. We met with the contractor Wed evening and it looks like we are going to be doing a big project around the house. Meaning I have to declutter and organize once again. Or still. We'll be getting a new garage door, windows and doors, new fence, new shed, new pavers in driveway and courtyard, new electrical and minor other repairs. There are other things we need like a new front door but that can wait. This year is the tax credit for the doors and windows so we want to take advantage of that. I might be moving my office to a bedroom at the other end of the house because it is much cooler there. Air Conditioner works better there for some reason. However, it would mean massive reorganizing on my part and I am not looking forward to that. I have to do floor plans to see if it is even feasible to move all this stuff and where shall I put it?

Missed yesterday as Hubby had a routine colonoscopy. Everything came out all right. No problems. As I was checking him out, the nurse said he would probably experience some gas. I had the same gas later on in the day, must have jumped from him to me. Too much fiber early on in the day.

I haven't done well with tracking my food this week. I'm bad! But this morning I was still at 180. If I can maintain 180, even if I don't lose, I'm making progress. We talked about entering a 5K tomorrow but the heat index is over 100 so I'm not sure about that. Plus I usually go to our church's yard sale which is tomorrow. Amazing how much money they make on junk. Later!

If I don't read every day I feel like I've missed out!
I think it's great that you are maintaining that weight. It's way better than gaining, which is what I've been doing.
I'm also moving my "office". . out of my bedroom and into my library room.
It's a lot of work. slow going because I keep stopping to try to organize all the papers.
I hope you find something fabulous at the yard sale!

    If you are having problems tracking try switching to the filling foods alternative to WW. You don't have to weigh or measure but you have to quit eating when you fill satisfied. Check book 6 of the WW booklets

Glad your dh colonscopy came out okay. Oh yeah gas, I could run the car on all the gas I have.

    I have never had a garage sale but need to do one. Any advice? Usually I just bag up things and take them to Good Will. I take it off as a charitable donation. But a garage sale is my ultimate goal so I can get both cars back in the garage.

Good Luck on the remodeling project -- it should be a nice goal to work on besides just a goal to lose weight! I would love to have the HGTV come to my house and help me reorganize our home office -- hubby and I share it and that is hard.

I was watching Designed to Sell on HGTV and as the realtor went through the house, she kept saying that there was a lot of deferred maintenance. I could relate to that as I had met with a contractor last week and we have the same thing at our home. I didn't realize how bad and it means $'s. New windows and doors, new fence, new shed, new garage door, new electrical, new front door. What do you expect from a 33 year old home? We did get the roof fixed where the squirrels ate through so that is a start.

We can relate this to our bodies as well. At 62, I've got a lot of deferred maintenance issues on my body. I finally broke down and got a pedicure last week and Friday is haircut day. But that doesn't address the sagging flesh, the arms that giggle, the pooching tummy, etc. etc.
Just a lesson to us that we need to take care of ourselves or we'll have a lot of deferred maintenance to attend to and it gets overwhelming.

Hubby and I will be sitting down with the contractor tonight to get the list and then prioritize our needs. We have about a year and a half before he wants to retire and we won't have the extra money so this is it.

I think I've finally been able to attack some of my DM issues on my body. It's taken a while but I'm eating healthier, walking more, being calm and being happy! I have 2 appointments today and my plan is to go to McDonald's in between and have their Southwestern Salad. Yesterday I didn't have time and thus did not have a good lunch and I was hungry all afternoon. Hubby gets a colonoscopy tomorrow so all he gets today is jello. He ought to lose a few pounds. Later!     I so agree about the deferred maintenance! My husband is the shining example of someone who doesn't defer anything when it comes to his health, from flossing twice a day, to eating a salad every day at lunch to running every day no matter what the weather...

I have been too lazy up until now, and didn't see the immediate benefits (Miss Instant Gratification, that's me!!)...but now all the deferred maintenance is catching up with me, and the to-do list is NOT pretty!!

Thank you for your comments on my blog posts...I'm a bit late getting back to Sparkies this week, with vacation travel and dealing with my in-laws (I'm still learning to be calm, what a great slogan!)...but they leave tomorrow, so my REAL vacation will begin with just hubby and kids. I'm looking forward to it.

    This is a great comparison. Deferred maintenance on our bodies, like in our homes, is harder to fix when finally fixed, than if we did it earlier.

    That is so true. One regret I have is, that I didn't take care of this poor body before it was to late. Yes I am getting healthier, but like you said, I am sagging here and there, that might not have started so soon, if I had of taken care of myself.

Wasn't there a song that started out "I feel good, and you know that I should now!" A Motown thing from the 60's or 70"s. Anyway, I feel good this morning after a 45 min walk with Pat. We have vowed to meet every Tuesday and Thursday morning at 6:00 a.m. to walk around the neighborhood. I was sleeping so good this morning, I didn;t want to get up. But a commitment is a commitment. And it was good, not too hot like later this afternoon.

And WW online is working for me. I love the tracker because it is so easy to figure your points, even when they are not listed. For instance, I like Arnold or Nature's Own thin sandwich rounds that have 100 calories. They have a place where you put in the calories, grams of fat and # grams of fiber and it pops out the points. There is only 1 point in one of those 100 calories sandwich rounds and I had my egg mcround instead of an egg mcmuffin. The Engllish muffin has 2 points. I was at 5.5 points for breakfast and 3 points of activity. I kept telling myself all year that I didn't eat points, I ate food but the calorie counting did not work for me. Never really has. And I put off joining WW online as I didn't want to spend the money on something I wasn't going to do. Andi and Donna I have to thank for motivating me to join up. My schedule is so erratic that it is hard to go to a meeting. If a client calls in for an appointment, that takes precedent over a meeting. And we're always taking my mom-in-law to the doctor. So Online works for me. I spend enough time on Spark to figure that out.

This morning I was still at 180 so it's not a fluke! I'm looking forward to it going down. The reason I am succeeding is Spark and my friends here. My original goal was to lose 20 pounds by July 31. I won't get there but I will eventually. I've only lost 8 pounds but that is 8 pounds gone gone gone and never to return. I will never gain it back and that is a pledge I make to myself and to all of you Sparkers.

Yesterday afternoon I had an installation of window treatments that we have been waiting a while for. And they were absolutely beautiful!! Of course I didn't have my camera but I will be going back to take a picture. We had to wait on back ordered fabric. It was a stripe for roman shades on either side of a bed and it was definitely worth the wait. I am grateful because I have several clients I am working with right now and the projects are very interesting. It seems that once the oil well was blocked, people decided to do something for themselves. At any rate, I am grateful. I have 2 appmts this morning, neighbors. So I've got to get going. Later!
