A SHORT BLOG TODAY. DAY 219

Sunday, July 25, 2010

LEARN TO BE CALM AND YOU WILL ALWAYS BE HAPPY!

It's been a quite sunday. We attended church and I did a bit more de-cluttering and hubby took the stuff down for the church yard sale. Feels good to get rid of things just laying around. I've eaten a bit more the last two days because it is the weekend but still within points range with the added flex points. AFter hitting 180 this week, I do not want to go back up again.

Got a busy week ahead. Stay focused and on track! later!

Sigh. My de-cluttering effort took a break this week-end, due to family celebrations... but NEXT weekend, have to get back at it! Calm... great tool!

When you're done de-cluttering at your house, I've got a garage that could use some serious attention, lol... Hope your week's a good one, kiddo! :-)

A C-DAY AHEAD! DAY 218

Saturday, July 24, 2010

LEARN TO BE CALM AND YOU WILL ALWAYS BE HAPPY!

Today is C-Day. Clean out the clutter or else I will miss the church's annual rummage sale where I get to donate all my treasures. I'm up and ready to get out to the garage to shuffle things around. First have to clean out my van and put that stuff away and then load it back up again to take to the church.

Before I do though, I have to blog. Yesterday I had my granddaughter and she was so excited all day because she was going to TUTU making class and she wanted to make a TUTU for her dog Katie. Katie is the funniest dog. She is pretty hefty but it is all in her body so she looks like an overstuffed hot dog with toothpicks for legs. I hope they take a picture of her in her TUTU. Hannah was so excited we got there before the place even opened but eventually, there were 5 little girls there to make TUTU's. I made good use of that hour and a half by having a badly needed pedicure and finding a beautiful clothing store. DIDN't buy anything because I don't need anything. I got back just in time for the TUTU parade where they all came out behind a curtain wearing their TUTU's! I'm really enjoying having my granddaughter to spend time with. Still a couple of weeks before school starts.

My mom-in-law met with her doctor yesterday with my husband and got a good report. He told her she was a tough old bird and all her vital signs were good. He spent an hour with her and my husband and told her things we've told her but she didn't do because she didn't believe us. Like she can take 6 tylenol a day. Go figure. HE also wants her on oxygen at night. She is doing so much better with the added oxygen. And she knows it.

I am working on some fabulous decorating projects that I will post when I am finished. Every so often I get a client who is willing to do whatever it takes to make something work. And I can get creative instead of just selling a drapery. And I've gotten busy. Don't know why as other businesses have said the same thing. It's like once the oil well was sealed up with a lid, people decided it was okay to spend a little money. All the businesses have suffered here. The pedicure lady said her best time to make money is the 100 days of summer when the tourists come in as walk ins and tip good. Not so this year as it is way down. So we wonder how the winter will be.

Got to go and get started on C-Day! Later.

Your energy is infectious - where does it come from? Your enthusiasm is motivating - I appreciate your blogs. You are SO consistant in posting - I hope it is therapeutic.

Today, I have to face the CLUTTER problem - thanks for a kick in the backside!

If you would write your blogs in a running document, and copy & paste to post, you would have an amazing story of struggle and triumph - you inspire me.

Glad to hear that the BP mess hasn't hurt your community too awfully bad - many will suffer for years to come from it. It breaks my heart.

Today I'm going to tackle my master closet! I'm hoping if I declutter my husband will follow suit.

I understand what you mean about the business fluctuations. Himself said that it seemed as tho customers hunted in flocks: he'd have a month where he was swamped, then a month where nothing came in at all, then another busy one, then a quiet one, etc. Never knew for sure what would be next, except when it rained it would pour, lol...

FIT FLOPPING! DAY 217

Friday, July 23, 2010

LEARN TO BE CALM AND YOU WILL ALWAYS BE HAPPY!

I wore my new fit flops yesterday and I noticed when I took them off last night, that I had a couple of muscle aches in my lower abdomen. I haven't felt any muscles there in many many years. I lean forward a bit when I walk and I notice that the fit flops make me stand up straighter by tucking my butt and pulling in my abdomen. Every little bit helps. I weighed this morning at 180!!!!. And went ahead and recorded it. That is 2 pounds since Monday. WW might be my answer to success!

Losing weight is a trial and answer thing. You have to try many many different plans and options to find one that works for you. All of us could develop a new weight loss plan by combining the best parts of all the ones you ever tried that worked for a while. I will tell you one thing now, if and when I finally lose the 20 pounds I need to lose and get to 160, I will NEVER EVER GAIN IT BACK! NO NEVER!

Three times this week I've had the Southwestern grilled chicken salad at Mcdonald's for lunch. It's very filling and 5 points. Keeps me going all afternoon. Yesterday, I had time between appointments so I stopped in, took a break and ate my salad. I arrived at my next appmt just in time as the client was pulling into her garage.

All of a sudden, I am busy again. Don't know what it is but I'm grateful. I actually have a couple of interesting clients and jobs going on. Maybe it's because the oil spill has stayed away from our beaches and the well is blocked. There's a huge sigh of relief here, you can just feel it. I'm even meeting with a contractor about doing some things in our home. New windows and doors, etc. We have about a year and a half to pay off debts and make improvements so that when hubby retires, we'll have it done. Granddaughter is coming today and we are going to a class to make TUTU's for her. Later.

If you ask for no "glaze or sauce" (whatever your McD calls it) on the chicken, you get noticibly fewer calories - their website has a Bag a Meal (I think is name) section where you can get the caloric content after taking things off - like sauce. By the way, we will have NONE of that when and "IF" I lose the last 20 lbs - WHEN, my dear, WHEN!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!! emoticon

Sounds really good about the fit-flops - I am definitely going to check them out, as I'm pretty sure they're available here! You're right about losing weight being a trial, lol... and I'm with you on that lose it now and never gain it back promise. ME TOO!!! :-D

MOVING RIGHT ALONG! DAY 216

Thursday, July 22, 2010

LEARN TO BE CALM AND YOU WILL ALWAYS BE HAPPY!

My son called this morning and he has lost 22 lbs with WW in 9 weeks! His wife his her goal weight as well! They are the ones that motivated me to join WW online and I seem to be responding to it. I am proud of him. He was at his all time high of 203 and now is 181.5. Pretty soon he will weight less than his mother. Can't let that happen.

Went for a nice walk this morning with Pat. Have to get up early to go because it gets too hot! I got a pair of fit flops, the new show that is supposed to firm up your thighs, etc. The instant I put them on, I could feel it in my back and I had to tuck in my hips and pull in my tummy to give my back some support. I've worn them all day and they are comfortable. Hopefully I'll keep tucking in that butt and pull in the gut! Later.

A MILESTONE! DAY 215

Wednesday, July 21, 2010

LEARN TO BE CALM AND YOU WILL ALWAYS BE HAPPY!

Last night we went to the yacht club for happy hour and Taco Tuesday. I had one small plate of food and NO BEER OR WINE! Diet coke and water were fine for me. Hubby only had one beer himself. Empty calories and costs money too.
Another hot day today and I have my granddaughter with me. She is such a delight. Yesterday she went to the retirment home where my 91 year old MOm in law lives. She went to lunch with her and everyone thinks she is so special. She is so well behaved and talked to everyone and answered their questions. Makes everyones day I guess.
I'm helping out for the rest of the summer so they can save a bit of money on childcare. I'm planning a good eating day! Later.

That's wonderful that you took your granddaughter along to visit her great-grandmother! I adored my great-grandmothers. Not everyone is lucky enough to know them, but I had two of mine around until I was 11. Enjoy her company - one of these days, you'll be having lunch with HER children, lol...

Congratulations on your Yacht club selections. I know you did so much better than had you not been aware of WW. Taking your granddaughter to the nursing home was a gift for everyone. You don't realize the joy you brought to those residents. How thoughtful of you. Congratulations on being such a good person
