I've worked hard to try to make sure that we have healthy meals that taste really good, but I may have overdone it! It's always been a problem. When I find things I like, I want to eat all of them! :) So tonight we had baked trout, grilled asparagus and homemade sourdough bread with red wine and a small slice of cheesecake for dessert! I think if I would have stopped there, it would have been fine, but I decided to add some butter to my bread, then I had a little more trout, then I had one more glass of red wine. Finally, my husband and I shared a late night drink. So, while I think I'm doing better and better, I still have to learn to say "when".

I'm still reminding myself to track everyday and I think I'm getting a little better at it. During June, I'll only be able to track with the iPhone app, so I'm going to start using it today. Yesterday was a very busy day but I made sure that I still had dinner planned out. Unfortunately, the potatoes had gone bad so we ended up going out to eat. ( The kids were going to have sausage and potatoes, which is their favorite meal.) I was going to have a sweet potato and squash. We just pushed that meal back to tonight.
I did not get any 'official' exercise yesterday and I forgot to wear the pedometer but my husband said all the work we did on the house should definitely count. We repainted the kids' playroom and the dining room, finished the painting and trim in one bathroom, cleaned the couch cushions, organized, vacuumed, and just cleaned in general.
I have discovered that I really, really miss exercise when I miss one day! I think that is a really good thing so I am going to get back at it today (and I am going to make sure I take either the stationary bike or gazelle with me in June.)
So my goals for today are to eat my regular oatmeal breakfast, spinach salad lunch, and sweet potato and squash for dinner. I'll do one hour on the bike today and then go walk for 2 hours. In between that, I'll do a quick clean on the house and pack at least 2 more boxes. I think that will be a very full day. :)

I think maybe I'm supposed to be stressed but, interestingly enough, I'm not. Maybe it has something to do with the Midol and Aleve I took earlier when the Midol didn't seem to work or maybe there's only so much that can happen before you just start letting it roll by without worrying about it over much. :) My girls have ballet rehearsal on Friday, recital on Saturday, my 5yr old dd will have her 6th birthday on Sunday. We invited all 54 Kindergarten students! I have no idea how many will actually show up but it will be interesting. We have plenty of entertainment set up - a Slip N Slide, trampoline, 2 electric cars, a medium size pool full of water guns, patio with 50 pieces of sidewalk chalk, and swingset/playset. And, of course, all the regular stuff - food, pinata, cake, etc. After that, is a Kinder end of year party that the parents are supposed to plan this afternoon and then Kinder graduation. Next week our house is officially on the market. I started packing last week. I need to have as much as possible packed up by the end of the month because the kids and I are supposed to spend the month of June at the coast with my Dad and 5 yr old sister. Some time in there, we need to find a place to live, move in and get the kids ready for school. It's going to be very interesting and I think I might even enjoy it! :)

I think all this exercise is finally making a visible difference! This morning I noticed my stomach felt a bit tighter and when I flexed it (which is amazing in itself) I could actually feel some muscle under the layer of fat. When I stood up I had to see if their was any visible difference in the mirror and, sure enough, there was a little line or indentation running straight down my belly. That is a very good motivator. I'd like to get a little more of this fat off to discover what those muscles look like. It looks like I just need to average about an hour of cardio per day and 2-3 strength training sessions to continue on this course.
I reduced my calorie goal a bit last week and, as of yesterday, I'm increasing my exercise using the p90x videos. We still have Zumba available 2 days a week until the end of this month, so hopefully, I'll see a few more results over the next 4 weeks! :)

I finally, finally met every food goal on my tracker today! Which is so totally awesome, but for some reason all I can think of is having a drink or a handful of chocolate chips, so I'm using the blog today to try to talk myself through it. I made myself write everything down on the tracker before I considered the chocolate or the drink and I was so excited to see that I had hit every goal perfectly so I am not about to ruin it, no matter how tempted I am and I am tempted. Maybe I'll promise myself a little sweet treat tomorrow if I hit all my cardio and strength training minutes tomorrow. Hmm, we'll see.
