Additional Goal

I have another short term goal. My daily goal is still to eat within my calorie range every day. Not over, not under and I am extending that goal through March.
In addition to that goal, I would like to be able to do one pull up. Just one. I've NEVER done a pull up before. I am not sure what kind of time frame to give myself but I know I will need to strengthen my arms and losing a bit of weight would help also. I tried today but could not pull myself up even a tiny bit. I'm hoping for some progress by the end of March. I will begin with strength training 3 times a week - weights and push-ups. I'll try a pull up every Sunday and see if there is any improvement.
I'm adding everything to my calendar now!

Exhausted!

All of our plans changed today. I ended up watching six kids by myself but it was great! It was a beautiful day and we spent most of the day outside. I walked and watched them play and had my 15,000 steps in before dinner! I could have probably made it 20,000 but I was looking forward to some down time. I still didn't eat as healthy but I didn't have any quick healthy snacks planned so I went for the easy stuff but still did well on calories.

I finally made it to the store, so I'm back to my regular oatmeal breakfast. I also made whole wheat pizza tonight for dinner. I added broccoli, onions and spinach to mine. It was perfect. I didn't make it to the gym tonight but I did spend an hour on the Gazelle at home!

I hit my 15,000 steps again but fell just slightly short on calories. Overall, a wonderful day!

I stayed within my calorie range today! We didn't have any plans for Valentine's night and then we had an impromptu visit from my Mom who said she'd be happy to watch the kids. So we headed out with no plans. We had no idea what to do and didn't realize how packed everything would be because we were just excited about going out. After trying a few places that were just way too busy, we ended up at Marie Callender's. We were both looking up nutritional values before we ate. It was very interesting to have him just as interested in nutrition as I am and it actually made everything much easier. We thought about doing something like Putt Putt golf but I wasn't dressed for it, so we settled for a movie.
By the time we got to the theatre, we were just too tired and in danger of one or both of us falling asleep during the movie! So we decided not to waste the money and headed back home for a good Valentine's night.

Elliptical and Zumba

I went to the gym for the first time tonight! I did an hour on the elliptical before Zumba started and then an hour at Zumba. It's been a long time since I was last in Zumba so it took me a while to catch up.
My heart rate monitor shows that I burned 2300 calories in those 2 hours!!! That's more than I eat for the whole day! It was awesome!
I'm looking forward to going back. I added it to my calendar for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
It is awesome to not have to worry about anything while you work out - no interruptions! I just turned on my music and enjoyed myself!
Tomorrow I am going to be soooo sore, but it will be great!
