I almost hit 15,000 steps today! I stayed busy most of the day and could only work in 30 minutes of exercise but I still hit 12,000 steps.

My nutrition was excellent, absolutely excellent!!

For a Spark Team Challenge

Monday, December 17, 2012

Make a list of ten things that you like about yourself, and post it someplace conspicuous.

Ok. Here goes (in no particular order):

1) My hair
2) Sense of Humor
3) Optimism
4) Stubbornness (Sometimes it's quite helpful)
Hmmm...these are getting harder....
5) That I love to give things to other people
6) My Tastebuds!! :-)
7) My butt (I don't think women are supposed to like that, so don't tell anyone!) emoticon
8) and 9) My eyes (and the way I see things)
Hmmm.... one more....
10) I think I like the whole package. Yep! I like it all!

15000 Step Goal

Monday, December 17, 2012

I need to revise my step goal. I was going to wait until January but I really want to start getting more steps now. I'm aiming for 15,000 steps a day now. I don't know why this should be so hard; I used to get 20,000 steps a day fairly easily. Anyway, it's time now. I don't want to start in January. I want to already be there in January.

Today was a great day nutritionally! If you just look at calories, that might seem like a strange statement because I was over by 10 calories but I hit my protein, calcium and fiber while only going over by 10 calories. I've always had a hard time with protein and calcium, so I'm pretty excited! I'm going to try to do that again tomorrow.

No matter what, my main number one goal is 15,000 steps!

Good for you. I'm going to start tracking as soon as I get a fitbit. Have to wait, Santa might get me one, and Santa doesn't like it when you pre-gift him.

I'm doing 20,000 steps a day and am not sure I could do many more. 10,000 just doesn't seem enough--15,000 is a great base number to make sure you get every day.

Do you use fitbit? I love mine. Even giving them as Christmas presents to family members.

Good job on your nutrition goals!

Great Birthday for DD

Saturday, December 15, 2012

My youngest daughter just turned 6 and we had a great birthday party today. December birthdays are always hard to plan. Everyone, including us, is swamped with Christmas stuff and throwing a birthday party in the middle gets a little complicated. It turned out great and my daughter was happy. (That's always the most important part!) She said it was the best birthday party ever! I love to hear that! (She says it after every party, including her siblings, but I still love to hear it!)

Bad Day Averted :-)

Friday, December 14, 2012

Wow! I just had one of those days that could have become a really bad day but somehow, it didn't. :-)
Short version:
1)Kid's self hair-cuts
2)Dead battery after getting DD's self haircut fixed
3)Shopping with three kids
4)Had to put all of our groceries back in the basket and move to a new line when the cashier's computer froze
Long version:
We were about to leave the house to run a quick errand when my youngest two kids came out with new self-inflicted haircuts! So I took the clippers to my DS and stopped at Supercuts to see if they could fix DD's. (They did a great job!) When we left Supercuts, the car wouldn't start! My brother rescued us and got the car started, but I needed a new battery, so I took three kids to Wal-Mart and we shopped while the battery was replaced. After buying everything we needed for DD's birthday party (tomorrow) and a few extras, we loaded everything up on the checkout belt and waited and waited and waited. The cashier's computer was down, so we had to reload everything back in the cart and get in another line. Finally, we checked out, got the car and made it back home!

And, amazingly enough, it all just seemed funny when I thought about it later. I didn't know it was possible for that much crazy stuff to happen in one day!

Goals for today:

1) Track Food
2) 30 minutes of steps
3) 10 minute quick clean in each room
4) Wrap presents
5) DD's Test
6) My Doctor Appt
7) Make cake for DD's Birthday
8) Laundry

Sounds like a good day. Lots of ups, downs, intrigue, suspense, and waiting. Then a final finish with the heroine "Mom". emoticon

Well played Spark Star. emoticon
