It's probably a little strange but I love starting out a month with as many spark points as possible. One of my biggest motivators with SparkPeople is the points, so when I start the month out right it's even more motivation to keep going.
I know it seems like they're just little things because exercise and tracking should be our biggest focus but those points help me to stay focused on everything. Exercise and tracking are the base but I know that everything I read helps me also. The Sparkteams keep me coming back in those rare times when I have strayed too long. Plus, I just really, really like to see the points add up and see how many I can get in a month. I'd really like to see how many I can get next year. I wonder if there's a way to see points accumulate in one year versus the previous year. That would be interesting.
The Fitbit is working great and has helped me to reach my activity goals every day since I've had it. I love that the computer automatically reads my steps and I just push one button in my tracker and it populates my steps, calories burned, minutes and give me my spark points!
I'm hoping December continues as well. It is the month of fun and parties but I'm planning out as much as possible and will use my Fitbit to keep up with my exercise goals (even if that means just walking around the house until I hit 10,000 steps!)
Most of our meals are planned for this month and I did about 75% of the grocery shopping. My basket was too full for me to finish! And most of it was fruits and veggies! (I love to dehydrate, so we stock up when we can.)
Seriously, I don't understand how my cholesterol is so high. My favorite foods are fish and veggies! Okay, well, maybe I do know... Alcohol is my major downfall, but I'll keep working on decreasing it. It will never go away completely because there are too many yummy ways to cook with it and, well, if I'm cooking with it, I might as well have a glass too!
In the last two weeks, I've had 3 glasses of wine, one mixed drink, and 2 beers. Not too bad in the grand scheme of things. It's less than the recommended one drink per day (the mixed drink was very large though, so it should probably count as 2).
Tomorrow is day 2 of December! I'm looking forward to filling up those points again!
