Zoo and Swimming

Saturday, September 22, 2012

We took the kids to the SA zoo today thinking it was going to be nice since the days have begun to cool off. We only made it about 3 hours before it just became too miserably hot for everyone, so we came back to the hotel and went swimming instead.

It was not the healthiest food day but I did bring some zucchini chips that I had dehydrated. They are really good and a great replacement for regular chips!

Tomorrow is Sea World!

We have had some strange weather in San Antonio lately - most of it has been rather pleasant though. If you're here visiting, I hope the rest of your trip is better. At least, you'll get a little wet at Sea World!

Starting Over

Wednesday, September 19, 2012

I'm always kind of starting over. Even when I've consistently logged my food and exercised, every morning I wake up and 'start over'. Today will be different though. We've been in a transition state since May. We're on our 4th move in 12 months and we spent one entire month at a hotel in Pittsburgh. I held to the exercise pretty well until about July. Our last move was closer to the coast and my exercise equipment had to go outside. It was fine, at first. I would exercise and read and watch the kids play. Then it got hotter and hotter. Then the mosquitoes came out and they are attracted to sweat like crazy! So we started coming inside more and more. I told myself that I would start using the Wii Fit and make sure I got some exercise time in but I haven't even done that. It became harder and harder to get back to it. We're still not finished with our last move. We are closing on a house in October. Most of our stuff is in storage near where we're buying and a few things are here with me and the kids.
Now my husband is finally ready to get healthy and I have gone backwards (not too far though, I still have the knowledge I've gained and have been doing pretty well at eating 3-5 servings of fruits and veggies a day).
I'm setting new goals now and will see how I do.

For one week, I will:

1.) Track all of my food
2.) Exercise for 10-30 minutes at least 3 days this week (Wednesday - Wednesday)
3.) Replace coke with tea

Those are all good goals! Wow so many moves- I can't imagine how stressful that would be. One move is stressful enough.

I enjoyed your status update about your kids eating fruit for breakfast. It made me think of my 3.5 year old nephew who I babysat last night. I got him to eat raspberries by sticking them on our fingers. Then he started calling the grapes "zombie eyeballs." Hey, whatever works!

Consistency

Tuesday, July 03, 2012

I am consistently working on being more consistent.

I have been exercising regularly but I'm still not back to my 2hours a day/5 days a week average. I have been eating more fruits and veggies but still need to work on tracking and reducing the overall calorie/fat intake from other foods.
I've started scrapbooking again and managaed 5 pages in one day! I'm going to go a long way to getting caught up this month!

Laid Back Day

Tuesday, June 26, 2012

I did not feel well today - emotionally and physically. I just couldn't seem to talk myself into doing any exrcise today and barely ate healthy. I thought I was going to go way over my calories but, surprisingly. I didn't! For dinner, I just wanted green beans so I roasted a whole frozen package with some coconut oil and ate the whole pkg myself! It ended up being about 2 bowls of green beans. I'll probably feel some effects from that in the morning! Hopefully, I can myself motivated to eat well tomorrow!
