Starting Over

Wednesday, September 19, 2012

I'm always kind of starting over. Even when I've consistently logged my food and exercised, every morning I wake up and 'start over'. Today will be different though. We've been in a transition state since May. We're on our 4th move in 12 months and we spent one entire month at a hotel in Pittsburgh. I held to the exercise pretty well until about July. Our last move was closer to the coast and my exercise equipment had to go outside. It was fine, at first. I would exercise and read and watch the kids play. Then it got hotter and hotter. Then the mosquitoes came out and they are attracted to sweat like crazy! So we started coming inside more and more. I told myself that I would start using the Wii Fit and make sure I got some exercise time in but I haven't even done that. It became harder and harder to get back to it. We're still not finished with our last move. We are closing on a house in October. Most of our stuff is in storage near where we're buying and a few things are here with me and the kids.
Now my husband is finally ready to get healthy and I have gone backwards (not too far though, I still have the knowledge I've gained and have been doing pretty well at eating 3-5 servings of fruits and veggies a day).
I'm setting new goals now and will see how I do.

For one week, I will:

1.) Track all of my food
2.) Exercise for 10-30 minutes at least 3 days this week (Wednesday - Wednesday)
3.) Replace coke with tea

Those are all good goals! Wow so many moves- I can't imagine how stressful that would be. One move is stressful enough.

I enjoyed your status update about your kids eating fruit for breakfast. It made me think of my 3.5 year old nephew who I babysat last night. I got him to eat raspberries by sticking them on our fingers. Then he started calling the grapes "zombie eyeballs." Hey, whatever works!

Consistency

Tuesday, July 03, 2012

I am consistently working on being more consistent.

I have been exercising regularly but I'm still not back to my 2hours a day/5 days a week average. I have been eating more fruits and veggies but still need to work on tracking and reducing the overall calorie/fat intake from other foods.
I've started scrapbooking again and managaed 5 pages in one day! I'm going to go a long way to getting caught up this month!

Laid Back Day

Tuesday, June 26, 2012

I did not feel well today - emotionally and physically. I just couldn't seem to talk myself into doing any exrcise today and barely ate healthy. I thought I was going to go way over my calories but, surprisingly. I didn't! For dinner, I just wanted green beans so I roasted a whole frozen package with some coconut oil and ate the whole pkg myself! It ended up being about 2 bowls of green beans. I'll probably feel some effects from that in the morning! Hopefully, I can myself motivated to eat well tomorrow!

Met Fruit and Veggie Goal!

Sunday, June 24, 2012

I met my fruit and veggie goal today but managed to disapoint myself a bit. I felt like all I ate was fruits and/or veggies today, so when I looked back at my tracker I thought I would see like 8 servings of fruits/veggies! It ended up only being about 5 and a half. Which is still awesome and I still expect it to have a great positive effect!

I'll start tomorrow off with the strawberry banana oatmeal again and try to see if I can hit the 5 serving goal again. We're going to a theme park with my Dad and the kids, so I know I'll get plenty of exercise but we'll also be eating out. I'm praying for healthy choices! I think I'll also have a v8 in the morning, just in case!

5 Fruits and Veggies

Saturday, June 23, 2012

That's my goal for the next few days is to try to make sure I eat at least 5 servings of fruits and veggies. That is always hard to do when we're out of town but we've been 'out of town' for 2 months! I went by Fruit King and loaded up on fruits and veggies. We got a case of bananas for $3! I'm working on the exercise but cooking is sometimes a challenge here so the least I can do is try to eat enough fruits and veggies.

We stayed in a hotel in Pittsburgh for 3 weeks! It was a lot of fun. We went to the zoo, aquarium and museums there. We took the kids to Niagara Falls. We went to Hershey PA and toured the chocolate factory. And we spent a weekend in Virginia with my brother and new nephew.

Now we're near Corpus and I have 4 kids and 2 dogs in what is essentially a loft or cabin. We did finally get internet access so I can keep the kids entertained when I do try to cook or do laundry. Most of the time we're cooking outside and the kids are swimming.

So, I'm working on staying healthy, happy and having fun!
