First run in 3 weeks.

Monday, July 13, 2009

Today was my first run or jog in three weeks. Had a bad hamstring pull and the only way for it to heal was take some time off. Had a lot on my plate anyway with both parents being in the hospital, trying to move, and garden really starting to grow. It felt great to run with no pain. Lost a lot of my wind though. Time to start slowly building it back. Have a great day.

Its been a goal of mine for a while. Now I have a way to spread the news about the wed site and introduce some healthy ideas also. Any one have any good ideas on what I should post?

Strange Morning

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

Was a strange morning today. On the way to work a car just about hit me. Was driving all over the road. My comment to my riders was, " What is this old man doing." Drove about 4 more miles to work and parked. This old man drove in behind me and parked. When I saw him my first thought was this guy is drunk or lost. But went on in to work. At this point I decided to take a day of vacation to get some planting in before the rain. When I went back out to the parking lot, this guy is moving from spot to spot and not driving very well. I went back in and got my supervisor. Told him we mite want to call the police. This guy is lost and may be a danger to someone. At this point two supervisor's took over and I left.

Later on the news I here this guy has been missing since 2 am and has Altimeters. People have been looking for him. So I call in and find out they new and had turned him over to the police after contacting his family.

Kind of funny. Why did this guy follow me. Out of all the cars on the road, he pick me to fallow. Many people in my family has altimeters. So I new as soon as I saw him. Funny how things work out. Glad he didn't hit anyone and got home. ok.

I had a similar story. Was on the highway and was behind someone that was all over the road. I put my flashers on, called 911 and told the state police that I was following some guy and had my flashers on. And that when they saw me, then the car in front of me would be the one to pull over. So they came up and pull him over. When I drove by, it was an elderly man in the car. He was from the District of Columbia and he was way out in Maryland. Lost too. I can't tell you how many tractor trailiers swerved to avoid hitting him because he drifted over into their lane. A major accident waiting to happen.

Keep up the good work with your weight loss.

Weather

Saturday, May 02, 2009

It's amazing how the weather can effect your mode. It's been raining for almost 3 weeks now. Flooding everything around. Temperature's are cooler and the sun is behind a cloud all the time. I've noticed that my work outs seem to be harder to do. My times are a little slower and workouts a littler shorter. Can't wait for the sun to return.

Well I am just the opposite with the workouts. I tend workout harder and longer on days when the weather is such I cannot go out and play in the lawn and garden. My focus is stronger and I feel I get a better workout than on the days when the sun is shinning and I want to hurry though them so I can get outside. The weather affect people in different ways I guess. The plan is to keep working out, right! Your doing great keep up the good work. Sandy emoticon

Biggest Loser

Wednesday, April 29, 2009

Watching the biggest loser this season has been inspiring to me. All the people on this show were as big as I was when I started. Just to see how hard they work out and that they are really trying to change their life's to. I see myself a lot in them. How I struggled and all the things that go along with losing a lot of weight. I realize its a game and everyone can not lose weight that way. But I say congrats to who ever came up with the idea. More health show that get people thinking about themselves is a great idea.

I have watched Biggest Loser for three seasons now. Though I'm impressed with Ron's results, I don't much care for him personally. He's a manipulator. Tara, on the other hand, is a major inspiration. Do you guys remember the challenge when everyone added time to her run? She was so down-hearted she was ready to quit. Then she remembered why she was there-for herself. Her growing self-confidence and refusal to buckle under incredible pressure have given me the final nudge to change my life, in spite of the figurative weights holding me back, as well as the literal weight I will be laboring to shed.

I love watching the Biggest Loser. You have done a fantastic job yourself. Wouldn't it be fun to get in one of those challenges? But not the one where you are way up high holding yourself up. LOL

Last night's episode got me here! When I saw those images of Ron from the first week and then this past week where they showed the layers of fat around his middle and his heart... I was floored.

I want that!

Best of luck.
