Weighed myself today. Lost another 5 lbs, what a feeling! I had kept away from the scale for months but today I was brave. I still think of myself as heavy even though I've only 5 pounds left to my goal weight. It's amazing how quickly the body adjusts but the mind takes longer. Spark People is a great place to be. Everything one needs to be healthy is right at your fingertips. For me, this is home. emoticon


13 Months Later!

Here am I 13 months after my last entry. It has been a real struggle to keep the weight off but I am 14 lbs lighter. I am happy but not satisfied. I've got another 10 to lose and then, I will be happier. I am thankful for good health. emoticon

Staying on track

Today I've decided to post my first blog. What a feeling! While I feel it is a constant struggle to stick with my plan to lose 25 pounds, I have lost 8 in the past few months and managed to keep it off. Now I think that I can really do what I've set out to do. The journey seems long, but I know that I did not become overweight quickly, therefore, if I want to be healthy and keep losing weight, I must be patient.

    Thanks for the words of encouragement. I woke up this morning to a sprinkling of snow on the ground. A sure sign that winter is almost here. I like the brightness the snow gives because it adds a certain optimism to life. Don't want to get too deep here, it's my way of not thinking of food. Anyway I've begun my day with a good breakfast and I have planned out my meals for the day. My problem is that I either eat too little or too much. So I think I will track everything I eat this week. We'll see how that goes.
