The question of the year!!!!??

We are now always hearing about how Social Security is going to run out of money.

How come we never hear about Welfare running out of money?

What's interesting, the first group "worked for" their money... the second didn't!!?

I know. The land of entitlement is starving out the rich. I know there are lots of people who need help, and I want to see them taken care of, but those who take advantage of the system are killing us.

I never thought of that but I don't believe it, that AS A will run out of money. I generally hate political discussions. Sorry about your stress. emoticon emoticon

emoticon We have all seen these people. During the holidays the county I live in does a big drive to buy new coats for kids. While I'm not against this I just don't see why the coats have to be new. I don't buy new for myself or my own children, why do they get new? If they would shop resale they could probably get a lot more coats.

    Very astute!

I personally think that anyone who receives monies and services from welfare should have to work for it.

I hear ya'. Welfare was designed to be a safety net, not a get out of work system. A friend of mine thought she wanted to be a social worker, but when they had to do OJT, she quit. She said she would get ticked at the clients in their knock-off Prada and other designer clothes, barely able to get off their smart phones long enough to spin their sob stories about not being able to find work.

emoticon I have no problem giving welfare money to people who are truly incapable of working or people who are temporarily out of work. But I saw one of my OWN nieces literally raise her children on welfare when she was quite capable of working - and that is just WRONG!! Little wonder that her children are lacking in ambition.

I believe God put the desire for productively in all of us! My daughter is a stay at home mom who home schools - and money is TIGHT for them living on one salary. But they CAN do it - so I KNOW it is possible.

Opps - better get off this topic. I feel my blood pressure rising LOL.

"Black Coffee"

Black coffee is my name
Black coffee is not a thing
Black coffee, freshly ground and fully packed.

Way back you all know, since I don't know when
See I got hungover before I was 10
So hot black coffee, that's where it's at.

Well you hear that
Some black tea, well it can't compare with me
Black tea (can't compare with me) that's right
Black tea, well it's as good as, it's as good as, it's as good as it can be
But it's a cup of black coffee that a working person needs to see, yeah.

In America, well it's the land of the free (so I've been told)
You can get what you want if you've got a lot of do re me
For a cup of black coffee, how good it tastes.

Black coffee is what I know, it's what I need
To suit my soul, to suit my soul now
It's what I want, it's what I need
Black coffee is where it's at!
Inspiration from my truest friend FUNNYBOYX emoticon

If you view the pictures on my Info Page, you'll see my love of coffee!
I'll be changing my pictures soon, so I hope you take the time to view them.

Cute poem, but....Me and my dad say no thanks to coffee. Give me a Classic Coke, not that diet stuff. I want the real thing. OK...I'll settle for caffeine free, but not the diet stuff. Don't like the after-taste of that diet stuff. My weakness is Coke. I love Coke! Sorry coffee-lovers...I just don't get it.

    Ode to black coffee....very nice...

I personally drink my coffee black as well...

This is due to my dad...whenever someone would ask if he wanted creamer in his coffee...he would say NO...that is like going to bed with your socks on....

Black coffee has many redeeming social values. One...no calories. Two...they now say it is good for your heart. Anti-oxidants and all that stuff. Three...it is a warm comfort on these cold mornings. And, of course, it helps wake a person up. No downside to a nice cuppa Joe.

Happy Birthday To Me

Monday, September 30, 2013

BEATLES
Birthday Lyrics edited for me.

They say it's my birthday
I'm gonna have a good time
I'm glad it's my birthday
Happy birthday to me

Yes, I'm going to a party, party
I would like to dance (birthday)
Take a cha-cha-cha chance (birthday)
I would like to dance (birthday)
Dance, yeah
Whoo
Come on
C'mon
Everybody
Oo-ance

Today is my birthday. So, for once, I'm saying Happy Birthday to myself.
My husband and I stopped celebrating official birthdays after our 30th year. Why, I don't know. It just happened. Both of us gave each other a huge surprise birthday on our 30th but after that I don't know why it stopped. But, in all honesty, we are very non-traditional and don't celebrate all the events that other people celebrate.

But this year for some reason I'm wishing myself a Happy Birthday! Maybe because I have MS and MGUS and am blessed to be here. Also, in all honesty, I believe every day I'm in this world is a birthday.

I'm also elated because my friends have been calling me and I have all my Spark Friends that I'm thankful for.

So, I'll be trying to get some housework done today and I'll be dancing with the vacuum cleaner.

Happy Birthday to you! If you don't make this day special, what is special? It's your life, make it count! Treat yourself. Do something that you wish someone had done for you! Make no excuses! Say, " Hubby, we are going out to the movies, and to dinner, or what ever." It's my birthday. If you feel sad, go to a comedy show to laugh. If you like being near water, go sit somewhere and look at it. Enjoy your self, you deserve it.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! EVA.

I WANT

Friday, September 20, 2013

-To every man, woman & child I want an end to the glamorization of negativity in the media.
-I want an end to status symbols dictating our worth as individuals.
-I want a meaningful and universal education system.
-I want substance in the place of popularity.
-I will not compromise who I am to be accepted by the crowd.
-I want the invisible walls that separate by wealth, race & class to be torn down.
-I want to think my own thoughts.
-I will be responsible for our environment.
-I want clarity & truth from our elected officials or they should move aside.
-I want love not lies.
-I want an end to all wars foreign & domestic violence.
-I want an end to the processed culture of exploitation, over-consumption & waste.
-I want knowledge, understanding & Peace.
-I will not lose because I am not a loser.
-I am the opposite of loser.
-I am shining beams of light that burn through the darkness of ignorance.
-I shed light on injustice and inequality.
-Losers stand by and let things happen.
-I act and shape my own destiny.
-I find meaning and direction in the mysteries all around me.
-I stand for love and compassion.
-I stand for Peace.
-I stand for progression.
-I stand for revolution.
