Food poisoning - again?

So I'm just getting over food poisoning, and when I thought about it, I realised this is the fourth episode of it I've had this year. That can't be right, can it? I'm either making the wrong choices away from home, or we're doing something wrong in the kitchen. In the meantime, the kitchen has been bleached and scrubbed and I'm taking a long look at my diet.

    That is certainly not good. Four times already and we are only in May. Good idea that you are reviewing what you do in the kitchen.

Your fridge is also a source to look at to ensure foods are stored properly and defrosted properly.

I have never had food poisoning! I do know though from seeing others it is truly horrible.

I hope you get this resolved. emoticon

A little bit of something good...

Went to my favourite restaurant today for lunch. Michelin-starred, a bit more expensive than where I'd normally go, but reasonably priced for the quality. The portions are small but the food is the best I've ever tasted, anywhere. I've gone over my calories a little bit today but I've had at least eight portions of fruit and veg and I feel totally satisfied. Lunch was eight hours ago and I don't feel at all like snacking. Result! We eat out maybe twice a month - and usually it's OK places, nothing special. I would gladly swap eating out twice a month at mediocre places for eating at a place like this maybe once every couple of months. Mmm.

  I agree! Sometimes we need to splurge a little, to keep ourselves happy and motivated!

    Sensible attitude, both recognising that going over your calorie allowance isn't the end of the world, and preferring 1 decent meal out to 2 or 3 mediocre ones. If one's going to go over - one might as well enjoy it!

What a week! What have I learned?

Work was crazy this week. Due to a topical issue in the news here my work has been crazy fielding calls from journalists, and trying to promote our message rather than just reacting to the news. It's been exciting but on the whole I prefer for our organisation to make the news rather than react to it. And typically for me I've lost my way on the healthy eating. That's it - it's always the first thing that goes when anything remotely hectic is happening. I just stop caring, until the crisis or whatever is over and I realise I regret straying off the plan. Hmm. what have I learned?

    You have learnt to take time for yourself, time to eat right and record, time to keep yourself fit and healthy so you can cope with these crisis.

    This is when you take a deep breath, and then another one and remember that you are number one in this situation. I let work become number one and I gained 40 pounds. Never again...

Recovering from food poisoning - what a waste of good nutrition!

Been recovering from a bout of food poisoning - hence the lack of blog posts. Such a shame that after I worked hard to ensure that my food had a good balance of vitamins and minerals, it all ended up down the toilet!

Spent today in front of Star Trek eating home made yoghurt. I'm not even going to think of tracking till tomorrow.

Off for some more zzzzzzz now.

Good weekend/bad weekend

Good - spent time with friends, had wonderful time.
Bad - right off the healthy eating plan, and absolutely shattered. Good for nothing today!
But there is more good news - I tracked every mouthful, and I am right back in the saddle today. Overall - tired but happy.

    Then I wouldn't consider it bad. You took responsibility for your choices and logged them. so I don't see any bad there. After all, this is life and we're to live it.
