All I did was make poor choices for my food. The sad part was, I had no idea that I was making such poor choices. After all, you see millions of people daily eating steaks at restaurants, burgers at McDonald's or BK, bacon and eggs and hash browns at Denny's -- and you never realize how unhealthy most of that food really is. The calorie count alone is astonishing, not to mention the amount of fats, carbs etc that they contain. You could have 2 days worth of calories in one sitting.
It's all about choices. That is probably the biggest thing I have learned. I choose to have yogurt and fruit for breakfast instead of bacon and hashbrowns. I choose to have lean chicken and veggies for lunch instead of a burger and fries. I choose an apple on the way home from work instead of chips and soda. I choose to make a healthy salad or other dinner entrée for my final meal of the day. I CHOOSE!
I remember coming home from work and heading directly for the fridge. On the way home, I'd ponder on what was for dinner and a lot of the times hubby would stop and pick something quick up (we both work crazy long hours). Then, after that fattening food, we would watch tv or hang out on our computers. No get up and go at all.
It's all about choices. I choose to use a pedometer daily and track my steps. I choose to exercise before work. I choose to exercise when I get home from work (most days). I choose to exercise BEFORE thinking about what is for dinner. I choose to make better decisions for my body! I CHOOSE!
I choose a healthier, happier body. I choose to get up and go! I choose to eat healthy! I choose a new lifestyle and NOT a diet. I choose to reach my goal weight! I choose to let myself be FREE!
I choose to take all of YOU with ME!

Had an awesome day at work today, busy but fun. Came home to my visiting son who lives in Boston for school. That made me happy! I don't get to see him as often as I'd like (everyday would be good for me!). I miss him when he is away. After dinner at Longhorn's (sierra chicken, 1.5 slices of bread and broccoli) we went bedroom furniture window shopping. LOL.
I figured if I bought a new bedroom set I'd be forced to meet my goal of organizing my bedroom. HAHAHAHA.... well, I wanted a bookcase headboard. Let me tell you, there are not many of those around, we hit 3 different stores. However, Jordan's Furniture came through and had EXACTLY what I wanted. I like the country look and this was perfect in every way. So our window shopping turned into the real deal..
Yeah, so then we went to the sleep lab to check out mattresses. Can someone please tell me WHEN the price for a mattress went into the thousands of dollars? Darn, this is nuts! I guess we will shop around a little before we settle on a mattress. Oh well.
I did my 30 minutes of exercise before work today. I am pretty sure my morning routine is a huge contributor to my enhanced motivation and attitude at work. I like it. I make myself do it even if my eyes are closed during it.
I think I have a routine for daily nutrition. Fruit & yogurt for breakfast. Chicken wrap for lunch and many healthy options for dinner. I could tell you my calorie count without even entering it. It gets to be habit and then you get to the point where you budget your calories for the whole day without thinking about it. It is strange how that worked. They say it takes 21 days to form a new habit. I don't even think it took that long.
I hope you are all having a wonderfully relaxing weekend. I hope you all meet and exceed your weekly goals. Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate it!!!!

Had an incredibly busy day at work today. And a late day. Left the house this morning at 6:30 and got home at 8:20pm. I did exercise before work... but am skipping the nightly set -- just had dinner (8:45). I hate eating that late but I was hungry and needed my nourishment. Still missed my calorie quota by about 70.
Tomorrow is a new day. I will exercise before work and after.... and Sunday is ALL MINE!!! I think I'll have a marathon! lol.
I'm glad to see so many of my friends here doing well. It's exciting when you post your results and achievements. Your kind words and encouragement go a long way. You are all greatly appreciated.
Yeah, I get really sentimental when I am exhausted. Thanks for bearing with me. Good Night to all!

I love my new lifestyle! I am really into this! I never thought I would ever be excited about eating healthy and exercising but I AM!!!!
I was sooo thrilled the other day. I did something that I couldn't remember the last time I did it. Can you guess what that was? Ok. I'll tell you. I TOUCHED MY TOES!!!!! That was such a huge milestone for me.. I was trying out that wii yoga that allison and mo were raving about and VOILA! I was just doing this yoga thing and following along and doing the pose when it happened. When I did it I just froze and my eyes lit up and all I could say was "NO WAY"
Then I got all giddy and kept on exercising... Silly, huh?
You know, I really LOVE pizza and have not had any in months.. but I found a substitute. A chicken marinara flatbread (by SMART ONES). It is in the frozen food section of the grocer and it is sooo delicious that I don't even miss pizza. I don't remember the last time I had a soda either.... and I don't miss it at all. I'm way tooo excited.
My hubby is joining the fun too. Although he is not as excitable as I am, but he is logging his food every day and working on staying under 2,000 calories. He is at 333 and he is 6'4" tall. The food tracking is all he does so far.. but he'll get more into it... it's catchy ya know. All I talk about is my exercise, my calories and what I learn. Now he reports to me whenever he drops a lb. I'm so thrilled that he is going to be doing this with me.
This is silly, I just can't stop ranting and raving. I'm sorry. My Supervisor's boss came in today to do my review and said... you seam really HAPPY lately, I take it THINGS are going well.... yeah, I was beaming.
Well, I gotta go for now... I hope that all of you are as thrilled about your success and achievements as I am. It really is fantastic that we are all on this journey together. I COULD NOT be this motivated without all of you. You are all very special people and I am honored to be your friend. Thank you for being a part of my journey. Your the best!

Hope everyone had an awesome day! I exercised in the morning and at night totalling 110 fitness minutes today. Other than that I didn't do a lot. Just played with the dog and went to the fruit stand to pick up some apples, melon, bananas, grapes and tomatoes.....
I must admit... I slept until 9:45am!! I was a total slacker today. I was sooooo tired when I went to bed last night it wasn't even funny. I got in over 10 hours of sleep with only 1 interruption (had to hit the ladies room --- all that water!) No wonder I was able to do so much exercise today.... lol
Ok.. so how come my wii gives me one number for calories burned and when I enter it in the fitness tracker they give me a different number? I like the wii number better, it gives me a higher number of calories burned. I'm surprised at this because the weight is right on.
Wish me luck, I bought a powerball quick pick today (ok, alright, it was 4 quick picks, not one!).
