Not looking forward to tomorrow

tomorrow is weigh in day and i am not looking forward to it. i do not think i've lost anything since last week so i'm a tad bummed.

on the bright side. i got this recipe from chef meg here on sparkpeople. it was for slow cooker chicken marinara with veggies. i added more spices to it after reading the reviews from others and i must say it is yummy. i am having it tonight with some smart taste pasta full of whole grains and it makes enough for more meals during the week. i can't wait to see how hubby likes it.

i only did the treadmill at the gym today. but, i did it for 76 minutes. i just didn't feel like doing the other stuff. besides, i AM on vacation.. lol

my house is sooo hot i am sweating as i type my blog. almost time to get up and move into the bedroom where the AC is while i await hubby comeing home from the gym.

so, i guess i'll hit the road and move my butt into a cooler climate.

    76 minutes is awesome on treadmill! Your numbers will keep falling if you keep that up, don't fret to much! emoticon

don't let the scale tell you how your day will go ... if it doesn't go your way. i let my scale rule how my day will end up.

best of luck on your weigh in tomorrow.. i'm sure it will be just fine... ms. 76 minutes on the treadmill! ;)

    Hey! I'm a bit nervous about weigh in tomorrow too but I'm trying extra hard today to be good and I will deal with the numbers in the morning - good or bad! Let us know how your recipe turns out for the chicken when you try it. I found a recipe for a fruit salad made with yogurt, honey, cinnamon and then a variety of fruits. I'm going to make it for our dessert for tonight, it sounds yummy and healthy.

It would be nice if we could count it as 'calories burned' just because it's so stinkin' hot!

    You might be surprised about the scale, but even if it hasn't moved you are doing great things for yourself and your body, so don't lose sight of that.
And it does sound yummy...

    There will be times where we don't experience a loss on the scale each week, but that doesn't mean good things are not happening. Try not to focus on the scale number and celebrate other things, the way clothes fit, engery level, accomplishments in workouts. These things will help you get through the weeks where the scale doesn't reflect what you want to see! emoticon

Not much progress...

hi kids,

feeling a little blah today.

feel like i'm not making progress... yet again. i know its a useless feeling and regardless of what the scale shows i know i AM making progress, but it's not easy to look at the scale and see no movement.

i am finding that lately, if i eat in, or near, my calorie range -- i will gain a little back. this is weird, since a few weeks ago it was just the opposite. everytime i stick around 1200 calories a day, lately, i lose. it's not supposed to work that way.

quite frankly, i'm bummed about that, but i will adapt and overcome (at some point). lol.

i'm thinking i am going to break out the wii this week for a little exta effort in the A.M. since i do not have to work. that should be fun. i think i'll try some stuff i have not attempted before. i love me time.

went to barnes and noble tonight and got a free book for my nook. they give you a free book weekly, sometimes it is a good one that interests me, sometimes it doesn't. this one was borderline so i downloaded it and will check it out. hey, it was free so no harm done. right?

Kim -- i found the popchips your were talking about the other day. i got a bag of your favorite and by the time i got back from b&n hubby already ate 1 of the 3 servings in the bag. i tried one chip (needed to conserve calories today) and i thought it was very tasty. hubby thought it was different. not sure what that meant since he went back for more... lol. he is a strange fellow sometimes.

i feel stuffed but i didn't eat tons today. must be all the water i had in the last hour. i should be drinking something a lot stronger with the way my RED SOX are playing the past two nights.. lol

alas, time to sign off.

    Sorry you haven't seen the results you would have hoped for on the scale, but glad to hear you will keep hanging in here! It will make a difference in the long run, and you know that too! Change things up a little (adding a little Wii sounds good) and see what happens. But be kind to yourself! You are doing great!

  emoticon I *TOTALLY* know where you are coming from with regards to the scale not moving.. and, when you go down to 1,200 .. it moves. I have exactly the SAME thing happen to me. It's strange. And, then when I go up to where *I* think I should go up to.. I end up gaining!!!! I am totally confused. :(

I have given up in trying to understand the scale and the amt. of calories *I* should be eating.. hahaha.

And *YOU* should have lots of "me" time. :) It's really great to spend some time alone... just with your thoughts.... or no thoughts.. ;)

HAHAHAHA. PopChips!! They are GOOOOOOOD! My store sells little 100 calorie bags instead of the big bags.. and I love it. :) Husband and I were talking about when we buy a big bag - we would be more tempted to eat the entire thing .. so for now I will keep on buying the little ones for myself. :) I tried the Sea Salt & Vinegar one on the weekend -- not to fussy on those. BBQ will be my fave. .. I guess. :)

How much water do you drink in a day? (I must have asked this already .. but I forget things so quickly!) :( I drink (apparently) 16 glasses a day. OMG eh? Well.. I used to think I was only drinking 8 glasses a day .. but found out that nope.. it was 16 I was doing. I wonder if that's too much. No wonder all I hear is swish when I walk. LOL!!!

Sorry you are nt seeing movement on the scale. And I know you know that you aremaing progress, even when the scale doesn't respond, but it helps to have that reinforcement, I know...
Hang in there, it will happen again. And you have lots to celebrate already, so don't foget about that either!

ok.. so vaca started for me around 2:30 this afternoon.

- came home to change
- went to gym
- went to dinner with hubby
- went shopping at target --- wayyyy too funny

ok, so don't laugh at me when i tell you this... but....

for the first time in, oh, i'd say 25 years I ACTUALLY BOUGHT A POCKET BOOK and WALLET. yeah, usually i just stuff whatever i need into my pockets and lately i have been feeling different about that. i'm thinking that i don't want my pockets bulging out now that i'm trying to get some kind of a FIGURE going here. lol

seriously, i don't know what happened. i just passed the aisle and started looking. i kept asking hubby which ones looked good with me.. and before you know it, i was buying it. so, sometime tomorrow i am going to put my credit cards, license and stuff in my wallet and try to figure out what else i am supposed to carry around. i feel so out of my league with this... it's wierd for me. i feel like i have been forced to be a tomboy my whole life because i was overweight (i think it was an excuse, it didn't matter if my pockets bulged before).

this is all new territory for me. smaller clothes that i can buy anywhere now. new hair. going to the gym. eating healthy (and lovin' it) and now this. a pocket book and purse. oh my, what will come next? is there anything left?

ok, so that is the end of my blabbing for the day. tomorrow i return my jeans for the next size down, hit the grocery store, the gym, and whatever..... ohhhh that sounds soooo goood..... WHATEVER!! whatever I WANT TO DO for the next 8 days.

WAHOOOOOOOO!

before i can start my vaca.

had to cut my gym time short today (but i still did 35 min elliptical) because i have so much crap to do before tomorrow it isn't even funny. stinks that it needs to be done before i go.... like getting my vacation 'to do' list ready for my assistant so he can have a successful week while i am away.

i really didn't want to leave the gym... boo hoo hooo... i love it there and friday nights are one of my favorite times to go!! yeah, i know, most people would rather be out socializing and partying it up, but not me... my hubby and one of my friends get to the gym about the same time i do.. so see, I DO SOCIALIZE TOO!! lol.

i guess i'll just have to make up my gym time tomorrow and kick some elliptical and treadmill BUTT!!

i will be checking in a lot with you all this upcoming week, since i will have lots of time on my hands just for ME STUFF!

have a fabulous evening, an even better weekend and don't forget to root for the RED SOX... THEY ARE LEADING IN THE 7TH INNING AGAINST THE NEW YORK YANKEES --- SOX = 6 YANKS =3

i was so bummed two weeks ago thinking i was never going to make this mini goal.

the goal was 245 by the 7th and I BEAT IT!!! i was 244 this morning on the 6th.

you have no idea how much that just energized me !!!! everytime i hit a plateau i rearrange how i do my exercise workout and add different (but healthy) foods into my diet - just to change things up a bit.

this time i added grapefruit and silk almond milk. and i do a cardio stint to start my gym day AND to end my gym day. i can't believe how awesome this is working.

i could ramble on and on and on... but then i'd be late for work... i still have to shower and dress and drive for 90 minutes before i get there so i better get a move on.

i just had to SHOUT about my friend the SCALE today. (yeah, you don't hear those two words in a sentence too often, do ya -- friend, scale not your typical pair) LOL.

    I fully understand that trepidation, and it is a bummer to hit a plateau. Thanks for your sharing some of things you change when you hit a plateau, I will have to incorporate similar things when I stall. emoticon
