gotta love wednesdays.. i love having the day off in the middle of the week. it rocks!
work 2 days, day off, work 3 days, day off -- doesn't even feel like i have a job sometimes. lol (DON'T TELL MY BOSS, PLEASE!)


so, i read that elliptical machines are the best cardio equipment to use. i also read that if you do interval training on them, you will continue to burn calories for up to 24 hours --- unlike other cardio equipment which only burns for something like a maximum of an hour after your workout.

also, strength training is mucho improtant!! if you strength train you build muscle and automatically burn more calories because, as we all know, more muscles = more calories burned.

so i did 40 minutes of interval on the elliptical today. it was tough while i was doing it, but afterwards the only after effect was wobbaly legs going down the stairs at the gym. lol...

then, i moved on to my strength training with the tricep press, squats on the leg machine, seated row, leg curl, leg extention, tricep press again, hip abduction in and hip abduction out.

have you used these gizmos? what do you think of them? interested in your favorite gym machines and your cardio routine. the more we share, the more we all WIN!!

have not missed a gym day in 8 days!! whooo hoooo !!! although 2 of the days i just did 30 minutes of elliptical and that was it. but, hey, i get mega points for dedication and perseverance, right. lol

man, i LOVE the gym!!! thank you KIM!!

PS... did i tell you guys i have 1 lousy lb to go until i hit 100 lbs lost? ONE!!! I am hoping tomorrow when i get up and weigh in i will be able to REJOICE and jump around and wake up the whole neighborhood. i'm so excited i can hardly wait for tomorrow to come.. i feel like it's christmas eve. lol... for my christmas present this year i want LESS than before... LESS OF ME that is!!

  emoticon kat! I am so happy that you love going to the gym. :) Congrats on almost 100lbs gone forever! :) Simply fantastic. :)

My fave. machine is the Elliptical. For the weight machines: I like the hip abduction, leg extension and the seated curl. :)

i hate it when sunday comes to an end.

that means i gotta go back to work tomorrow... blaaaaaah


eliptical --- started at 20, then 37, then 40 and today i did 40 minutes again... that was just what the doctor ordered to jump start my body into losing again.

    Hitting Monday isn't always too bad. For lots of us it means we get back into a more manageable routine! Congrats on the elliptical work! That is wonderful and a real accomplishment...40 minutes! Wow!

ok so today i did the eliptical for the 3rd straight day and feel great -- although i am not a speed demon on the thing, i go at a leasurely clip and managed

700 calories in 37 minutes doing 7.1 miles for distance

the distance thing is messing me up. it just says distance so i am just guessing that it is miles -- if anyone knows for sure i'd love to hear from you.

i figured i would be WAAAAAY more beat if it was 7 miles. i just can't figure out what else it would be.

hope you all have a fabulous weekend. i can't wait for sunday... i need a day off of work sooooo bad!

lol, this is getting to be my mantra everyday - hoping for a day off. hmmmm maybe it is time to retire!! lol.. yeah, i wish... unfortunately i still have at least 20 years to go for that!

ok, so the eliptical was harder for me today than yesterday. i still did my 20 min but it seemed like it was harder.

yesterday i started on 1 and worked my way up to 4 within 2 minutes, today i just started out at 4, maybe that was the difference.

yesterday, a friend was on the eliptical beside me and today i was by myself, maybe that was the difference.

yesterday i didn't work before the gym, today i did. maybe that was the difference.

yesterday i got 3 more hours of sleep than i did today. that is certainly part of the difference.

regardless, i am thrilled that i did the eliptical 2 days in a row. i have always been afraid of that machine for some reason and it feels good to be working on conquering that fear.

so.... what do you think? tomorrow for 3 in a row?
