What can I say?

Monday. Rather uneventful overall.

Definitely NOT my typical Monday -- mine are usually the opposite. VERY EVENTFUL. LOL.

My wii exercise is getting ho hum. I think since I joined the gym that it takes a lot more to get my heart racing and the sweat to pour (signs I am having a good workout). I just do not feel satisfied with it lately.

I am not a runner but I think I am going to start doing the free run on the wii and try it out. Does anyone know if you can 'run' and watch something else on the tv while you are doing it like you can with the free step? That info would be very helpful.

I feel sooo full. I have to either drink LESS water before dinner or eat a smaller dinner. I only had 429 calories for dinner but I am absolutely STUFFED. I suppose the cucumber and tomato salad took up a lot of the room in my ever shrinking belly.

I think I should eat more during the day, but I'm not really hungry. I have breakfast around 7:30ish. Lunch either at 11:30 or 1:30 (whichever time permits) and an apple on the drive home and dinner about an hour after I get home, usually around 8ish (later if I go to the gym).

And I rarely reach my calorie goal. I eat a minimum of 5 fruits and veggies a day, usually 6 or 7 and a minimum of 4 bottles of water (20 oz each). So tell me my friends. What am I doing wrong? I don't feel deprived or hungry and I have kept this steady pace and routine, so to speak, for 3 months now and I still have trouble hitting 1260 - 1610 calories. Maybe I'll go for more peanut butter, lol. Or nuts ( I have almonds 3 times a week)

You are amazing... look at how you manage what you eat. Way to go!
I eat lots more than that, you are SO good!

  That is so great that you are enjoying the gym that the wii is boring. ;) well, don't eat if you aren't hungry! but .. things like nuts are good to have as a snack ... and, peanut butter is good for you (keep in mind moderation of course!) :)

    Wow, I don't know how you can go 6-7 hours with just an apple between lunch and dinner. I think if you add a couple of healthy snacks it will help get your calories up and keep your metabolism revved. Although, if you're not feeling deprived and you're losing weight at a steady pace, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

So Sunday is typically the first day of the week for most. It's kind of funny. My job uses a Monday to Sunday work week... so Monday, for me, is the first day of the week and Sunday is the last day of the week.

And boy, let me tell you, THIS week starting tomorrow better be a whole lot better than last week (work wise). I am going to wake up tomorrow and I am going to listen to Zig Ziglar on the way to work and I just know it is going to be a fabulous day!!!

I did the gym 3 days in a row!!! Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Although today, we made a major blunder and I can guarentee it will NEVER happen again. We had a busy day. Drove to the fruit farm, went to the post office, went grocery shopping and went to they gym. Somehow, we forgot to eat lunch so when we got home from shopping we decided to have some lunch before hitting the gym. After lunch, we chilled for about 30 minutes then drove 20 minutes to the gym... Let me tell you. I will NEVER again eat a meal within 2 hours of going to the gym. I just did not feel right the whole time. I felt like I couldn't get my speed up, although I was doing what I usually do (hmm maybe I am getting used to it) and I was like, feeling blahh inside and I knew it was from the lunch before gym.

Besides that. Nothing much going on. I'm hoping to score some Red Sox tickets this season --- loge box or better would be nice. I'm not much of a grandstand person. Went to about 6 games last year -- scored awesome seats for most of them..... (free too!!) Go RED SOX!!

Hubby hates baseball season... I get nuts!! I yell at the T.V.... I get excited and I get very LITTLE sleep when they are on the west coast 'cause the games don't start until 10 pm my time.

OH.. I just remembered I am supposed to dig out some books for a girl at work. Gotta run so I can find them... This is big, I get to give away some of my trillion books I have cluttering my house!!! Yayyyyy !

Just got home and finished dinner. I hate these late nights.

Went straight to gym on way home from work... not easy to start up after driving for an hour and thirty minutes...

Did 48 minutes -- 24 minute mile -- incline moved from2.5 to 4.5 and maintained a 4 incline for at least half of my time. I was set on cardio so the machine tracked my heart rate. It was awesome.

Then I did some bicep curls, flys, and bicep press.

The exercise canceled out my cramps though, so that was awesome too!!

Had a light progresso soup and a smart ones flatbread for dinner. Oh my god, I will NEVER do that again, especially after I just drank 20 oz of water!!!!! I feel like I am going to roll away. And the sad part.... I have not reached my calorie goal for the day.

AND I do not intend to either. lol.

Going to gym again on way home from work tomorrow AND on Sunday too!!

I think I am turning into a 'gymaholic'

I hope it's incurable! lol.

I have to work really hard to reach my goals. I updated them on my main page. Check 'em out and tell me if you think they are realistic.

I am determined to keep losing weight on my vacation in June. My plan is to hit the gym every morning on the cruise. There is never anything interesting going on then anyhow, and I am not planning on drinking a whole lot of alcoholic beverages so getting up should not be a problem. (don't tell my hubby I said that... boy, could he tell you stories of me NOT getting up! lol)

Last cruise I gained 10 lbs. NOT THIS TIME. It has already been decided. My mind is made up and that is all there is to it.

I feel so blaaaahh

I think I ate too much.

Dinner was a tomato and cucumber salad -- turkey slices, gravy, potato, broccoli and carrot strips.

and WATER!

TOTOAL = 422 CALORIES (including dressing for my salad -- you gotta try wish bone fat free italian -- it is to die for!)

Why am I sooooo stuffed?

    The gravy was less than a quarter cup.. I am practicing my portion control and I am trying to stretch the unhealthy items and be satisfied with less! lol.

  most of your meal was high volume foods (except turkey & gravy) which is great! Btw, how much gravy did you have? 1/4 cup is usually a serving. Water makes you feel full too.

Not worth it!

ok so Sunday hubby and I tried making the apple chips recipe from sparkpeople. I caution you all from this.

a. It takes over 2 hours for the apples to cook
b. You need to peel them off the paper and flip them half way through
c. Lost all flavor in the cooking
d. One apple fits on 2 trays to put in oven
e. slicing paper thin is NOT easy

all in all i'd say it is NOT worth the effort!!!

hahahhaaha -- you all didn't think i was throwing in the towel with my heading did you? consider this a belated april fools. :-)

gym time: 45 min treadmill yesterday
last week went to gym 3x
hopefully going today after my hair appointment

on track (hopefully) to reach goal of 265 by june 5th ---- cruise vacation!! wahoo!!
i have 22 lbs to go and 8 weeks in which to do it. what do you think? can i pull of 2.75lbs a week or is that stretching it a bit?

i figured i am down 63lbs since jan 1st --- which is 4.2lbs average. hmmmm i think i can, i think i can, i think i can.... .... .......

i have always had an issue with portion control (distortion is more like it) so i resort to frozen healthy choice or smart balance meals for dinners (along with a cucumber and tomato salad) ---- is that cheating? lol, i suppose if it is working and easy to follow i can't knock it, eh?

we also tried the microwave potato chip recipe. those came out much better, but not sure if they are worth the effort either. we were trying to find a healthy way to satisfy our need for the crunch you only get from chips (you all know exactly what i am talking about, i know you do!) with those, you can only microwave a few at a time and by the time they are done and you move onto the next batch... the first batch is already gone. lol -- yeah, we don't have much patience. so making a batch for an evening snack that you can relax with isn't going to work with us and they are bland if you don't add enough salt or flavoring.

i don't like snacks that are over 100 calories so if any of you have a suggestion to satisfy my chip cravings that is healthy AND filling... please, feel free to toss your ideas my way.

on another note.......... CAN I RETIRE YET !!!!!!!!!

I am ready for it. I am going through this stage where I just do NOT want to be responsible for anyone else's poor performance anymore!!!! what makes people think they only have to do their jobs WHEN THEY FEEL LIKE IT? I'll tell you, the work force is awful today compared to when I was growing up. Back then, we worked and were proud of our work ethics -- today, forget it. Even the adults lack common sense and good work ethics. Does anyone give a proper notice these days? Are there employees out there that DO NOT require BABYSITTING (not their kids, but themselves!). Am I THAT out of touch? What is this ball of wax turning into?

(sigh)

thanks, I just needed to get that off my chest.

    I don't have a crunchy chip snack replacement but I do have a good ice cream type replacement snack. Put yogurt...your choice what kind and how many calories are in it... in a blender or food processor along with frozen fruit, blend them up then scrape into a plastic container and put it in the freezer. Then every 15 or twenty minutes or so scrape at it with a fork breaking up all of the ice crystals ...keep doing this until it reaches the consistency you like. I put 1/2 cup mixed berry yogurt and 1/2 cup frozen strawberries it comes out to be about 130 calories but you might be able to find lower calorie yogurt in the states. There is also a product here called BioQ that is like a low calorie drinkable yogurt that has only 56 calories per 1/2 cup so some times I use that instead. I think my little frozen thing is really fun to eat when it is night time while I am watching my shows. It is real frozen yogurt I suppose.

I love the way you are trying out all kinds of stuff to satisfy your cravings...I have lost my weight but still have trouble with snacking and overdoing it plus my husband is now working on losing weight and I would love to know if you come up with that crunchy, salty chip thing! or any good filling snack idea. Oh, and if you can, buy a mandoline at a kitchen store for slicing paper thin...it can also do other cuts like julienne and crinkle cutting if you do that to any vegetables.
