First Weigh In May 7th, 2012

Today was my first weigh in and I am excited to report that I am down four pounds! It also looks like I am the leader in "The Biggest Loser Boudreau" contest at my work, although there is one more person that needs to weigh in. Success always makes me feel so good about myself that I am surprised I don't do this all the time. I guess it is procrastination that gets in my way. I have a habit of putting things off, and look where it has gotten me. Now I have 95 pounds, well 91 pounds now, to lose. Anyways, it looks like I am off to a good start. Now all I have to do is keep focused on my goal. Continue to eat a low carb/diabetic diet, exersize, drink 8 glasses of water, take vitamins & visit Spark People every day. emoticon

Second Fast Break Week

Just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for the warm welcome.
It’s a pleasure knowing you have friends and team mates. Being a part of
a team is important. That’s why I like being a part of FLAB, Float like a
butterfly, is what I want to do. What have I learned so far? I have a lot more
knowledge about goal setting. You need to make small daily goals into
successful challenges. Positive reinforcement you can see right off. Then
make medium range goals to accomplish the long Term ones. In FLAB I
am committed to the Birthday challenge
I think I am off to a good start this week. Down 1 more pound. Hurray!
I woke up early today to work on my food plan for the week, and now
the shopping is done. Next I will put the radio on, and do a housework
workout for a couple of hours. I Hope your are enjoying your weekend

First Fishing Trip

This is our first fishing trip of the year. We got up at 4am blurry eyed but ready with our fishing gear, Ice Chest and Coffee, of course. Arrived at Belmont Pier in Long Beach at 5:30 am, before sunrise, and proceeding to lug our gear to the end of the pier. I caught a fish right away. A beautiful Yellow Striped Surf Perch. During the day, I cought 7 Pearch, 1 Sea Bass and a couple of Herrings. Husband caught a spider crab and some kind of huge fish that got away. He sulked the rest of the day. After 13 hours he said he was done and we went home. I must remember to get healthy food next time we go, and drink more water. By the way, fishing standing up for 13 hours burned over 2800 calories.

  


A Journey Begins

A journey begins with a single step and my first step into the Weight Watchers meeting place was filled with fear. I was afraid of failure. I was afraid of the scale. I was afraid of the other people in the meeting. Little did I know that I should have nothing to fear. Everyone was in the same boat as I, and I no longer feel alone on this journey.

I still struggle with my belief in the program, but there are alot of resources available. For example:

Remember the children's story The Little Engine That Could? "I think I can, I think I can," the engine told himself whenever the going got tough. It obviously did the trick, because the little train finally got over the mountain. The moral of this tale? You have to believe in yourself before you can attain your dreams.

"People struggling to lose weight often talk about their lack of willpower, as if willpower is something that you are either born with, or not," says Palma Posillico, general manager of training and development for Weight Watchers International. "Losing weight is all about 'wantpower' — about recognizing that you already have all the resources you need to get what you want."

    I'm really impressed that you've set your goals to lose 50 lbs. and quit smoking. Both goals require lots of small behavioral changes, but I see from your ticker that you're already well on your way. Good for you!
