Thankful for a little sunshine

Saturday, April 12, 2014

When I got up this morning ,going around the bed, making it. I noticed one little piece of sunshine shining on our chest of drawers. I stopped and reached out to touch it and my hand went thru, I repeatedly tried to cup it in my hand. I felt God there with me and thanked Him for the sunshine that covers our earth.

Your words remind me of our eldest --- she is our "sunshine gal" for sure.

I am thankful that you were given the joy of that beautiful experience of rejoicing in that piece of our Creator's creation. with the sense of His being right there with you.

God bless you with many more such moments to treasure!

I feel strange

Friday, April 11, 2014

Some people said they would follow me and support me, That's great I or we need support. I feel funny about what to write. It seems like I am forcing myself to think differently . Why is it so easy to feel down in the dumps and not so easy to show joy ? I have so much to be grateful for and I am not going to let feelings get in my way. My God's word says rejoice and again I say rejoice. I choose to do that. There are so many things around that try to impose on how or what I should feel. God has final Word in my life and With friends like those here at spark how can anyone stay down? That little spark that goes from one person to another just won't let anyone stay down. Thank you to who ever reads this. emoticon

It does seem easier to dwell on the negative things. I'm VERY guilty of that. I need to try and be thankful in all things that God provides for me. Always seem to go to Him when things are really bad, but forget sometimes to appreciate everything, good and bad. There is a reason for everything, we may just not know it now.

Day 1

Monday, March 31, 2014

It is strange how I have been here for so long and just been a yoyo where nutrition is concerned. I have been successful at so many other things. I think I blogged this before. I quit drugs, smoking, too much alcohol consuming (I still have a drink 3-7 or so a yr),coffee, not as many fried foods. I have and am learning here at Sprkpeople.
I started exercising more, drinking lots of water ,Lots of fresh veg, stop beating on myself (almost completely).
Day 1 of our challenge. I said I would blog 3 times a week at least.
I feel good today. Focused, very aware! I want it to stay this way, I am changing my mind and heart.

I did it once and gained all of it back. Well I got down to 169. I had cancer on my spine and broke my back 3 yrs ago. 18 treatments radiation, learned how to walk again. In remission WOO HOO! Where the cancer was causes pain when I walk, down the back of my right leg and the front of my left leg. I tidder todder when I walk now. also pain in area where the cancer was. They couldn't remove all of the tumor, too close to the spine. I guess that is rubbing in there. I have hard scar tissue about the size of a small paper plate on the back ,it goes all the way through to my belly button getting smaller about the size of a large orange in front You know Spite this, All is well. Yep all is well. I am moving forward

Not that you need anybody's approval, but I'm so proud of you for all you've done, and for persevering through all you have. I praise the Lord for His work in you - physically, yes, but especially spiritually.

Love you, my sister in Christ

Remember that old ciggie commercial for Virginia Slims? "You've Come a Long Way, Baby" Well, that is definitely your motto and mantra because you HAVE indeed!!

Nutrition is absolutely essential for you. And not necessarily for weight. To slow or prevent cancer growth. If there is any way you can see a Registered Dietician, do consider having at least one consult to tailor your nutritional ranges. After cancer, it's crucial to have lots of variations of deep and bright colors in vegetables...daily. And hard as it might be: going organic is huge. Know what's sometimes just as important, though? SMILING. The kind of smile that lightens heart and twinkles in the eyes. Go for the smiles.

Glad you're blogging. I've subscribed and will try to lend support. You've come a long way and will keep on improving.

Change

Saturday, March 29, 2014

Sometimes it takes awhile to change. I am thankful that things do change. At one time I thought I could never change. I did and I like the change. I like to think the word change, especially when there is an opportunity for me to slip into the old person who thought things wouldn't or couldn't change. Everything changes so can I.

This is the way to go!

Friday, March 08, 2013

No matter what. Think don't give up, you can do it, drink some water, get some exercise, get some rest, you're so worth it, say a prayer, you have support, start again, start again, reach out to others, let others reach you, love yourself , No matter what...

If you were on a trip and along the way, there was an accident that slowed the traffic down, do you turn around and go back home? If you got a flat, would you change it and then head back home? If there was a detour because of road construction would you get frustrated and turn around? If you ran out of gas, do you give up on getting to your destination? What if that destination was your wedding or to get the hospital to give birth to a child? Would the destination and purpose for your trip have an impact on the decision to continue on your way until you reach that place your heading to? Depending on the importance of your trip and whether it is a place you want to go or whether you're being forced to go there, does it matter? If you were being forced to go to war, would you try to sabotage the vehicle or try to do things that would disqualify you from being eligible so that you wouldn't be forced to go? If you found out that you were headed to a place where there was Black Death Plague, wouldn't you do ANY and EVERYTHING possible to prevent your arrival to that place where you know you would be infected and perish?

Then consider this: Your destination are the goals you've set! They are the Wedding or the Birth of a child and you've started your journey to get there!
Consider also this: Where you are at now is the beginning of your journey and it is the war that will lead to your death or to the place of the Black Death Plague!

What is your strategy what are you willing to do to get there? Why are you on this journey! What is the reward for succeeding? What is the cost of failure? At what point will you give up and turn around?

Maybe such a word picture can help motivate you and allow you to prioritize what is important! Little set backs like a flat, a detour or slowed traffic are like bingeing one day, going over your calorie limit or eating something that doesn't fit into your ideal nutrition plan, missing a work out or whatever! Are you going to turn around, give up and go back to where you came from!

Now that I'm on my way, the children that have need a healthy daddy to stick around for as long as he can! Sorry for taking a momentary detour to stop by and visit you but it seems we are headed in the same direction and I just wanted to say hello so that I won't be lonely on my trip! It would be nice to see you at our destination so please don't give up and don't turn around! I've seen the devastation back there and there are many who still haven't made to choice to leave! I wonder how long they have left and what hell they will have to endure until the end? I am glad you have made the choice to leave because you matter! If you have a flat or get lost, just give me a call! I'd be happy to help! I'll even bring the gas or a spare if that is what it takes to keep you moving forward!

Be Blessed! Know that you are going the right way! Don't sweat the small stuff, just don't turn around and give up!
