It's been a rough couple days for me as most know from my previous blogs...
Today I am blogging early in the day as I sit here at my Hair Spa getting my every 5 week Platinum touch up done and cut. I love being pampered and I don't think most people do it enough for themselves. Women take care of so many other people and put others first and Oprah has taught me in the last 38 years that you have to do things that fill you up and make your soul happy.
I am a hairdresser, Image consultant, makeup artist, beauty therapist, personal trainer, weight loss consultant, nail tech, and soon Nutritionist....I sit and listen to people and help them...that weighs on me sometimes. I want everyone to be happy, healthy and feel on top of the world!!! I believe a bit of pampering NEEDS to be part of every woman's life!!! For your body, skin, soul, and special time!!! It puts a pep in my step, makes me feel stronger when I walk out the door everyday...a great cut, perfect skin care, and the right colours are worth the investment!!!!
My grandfather always taught me that you should never skimp on your teeth and your shoes....I will add...or yourself!!!! My hair gets done every 5 weeks and it's $205.....HOWEVER....I rarely pay that amount because I am stopped at least twice a day and complimented on my hair...they get a card from me to bring here and they get $20 off their first visit and I get $20 off for the referral!!! PLUS...it makes my day!!!! :) HA HA Within my 5 weeks away...usually 3 have come in :)
There is a saying I firmly believe in now...heard it about 10 years ago... IF YOU HAVEN'T GOTTEN A COMPLIMENT ON YOUR HAIR IN 6 WEEKS, CHANGE IT NOW!!!!!
I went dark a couple times, and the comments I got were "Oh...you changed your hair"....yea....that's a comment...NOT a compliment...and I didn't give out any cards! LOL Went back to this style and colour and gave out 5 that following day!!!!!! REAFFIRMED!!!! LOL
It's funny....my hair has become part of my identity...and even my man's...we get our hair done and share hair product!!! It shows our personalities and when people describe us, that's the first thing they start with...even over me being American!!! The Blonde American who wears Makeup and from Chicago! That's me! :) PROUD OF IT ALL!
So....I challenge all of you to do something nice for yourself on a regular basis! It may be buying a really cool bath bomb and enjoying it with some music...it may be a manicure, or massage....but do something! YOU DESERVE IT!
