Fitness Challenge Fun For The Holidays

Thursday, December 06, 2012

Awhile back I found and bought two of these board games called "THE FITNESS CHALLENGE GAME"...one for me and one for my BFF. Well, she wasn't in the right headspace and so I tucked it under my bed until yesterday...when I felt she was ready :) And she is!!!!

If you google the game name, you will see what I am talking about. Basically you challenge a friend for 8 weeks to exercise at least 3x a week and you wager...the goal is to get 40 points by the end of 8 weeks. Whomever wins gets the prize they picked from the other person. Each type of exercise counts as Super Star or Star lite...starlite you have to do longer to earn your point.

You pick a fitness level (beginner, intermediate, or advanced)...my BFF is injured right now, so she is a beginner and I am intermediate. So I have to do the activities longer for my point to count.

First and second workout of the week is 1 point and the 3rd workout of the week is 3 points and any additional workout that week is 1 point.

I am looking forward to it and so is she and it'll be fun...especially through Xmas! :) We both chose the wager coupon "I pick the restaurant and you pay"...and we oddly enough both picked healthy restaurants! LOL When you're in the right headspace....you're in the right headspace!!! COMMITTED!!!!!!!

I've been reading about this game - sounds interesting.

Question: how do you determine what is your workout?

I have done a challenge with my nephew's wife (30 minutes of exercise for 30 days) and we both loved it even though we don't live close to each other. We were held accountable by checking in via Facebook. I think activities like this are great!

Max International College Of Fitness

Monday, December 03, 2012

The last couple of weeks I have been consumed with the application process to get accepted to this school! I got accepted on Friday and I just broke down into tears! I am so excited. I have a PT certification from ISSA but this will get my certified here in NZ, REPS NZ certified, and a fitness business degree as well! I got sick of waiting for the right job and decided to design my future instead! Life is too short to always be Woking for someone else! At least that's my opinion!
Have a great week, dream big, take risks, and BELIEVE!

Oh Where Oh Where Have I been? :)

Monday, November 12, 2012

Well...I have been MIA from SP for awhile...mostly because I simply use the iPad and iPhone apps everyday and not the website. I have been trying to build my Stampin' Up! business and have become a Sr. Supervisor with them and on my way to Manager now which is a goal! I was made redundant at the end of July and have been looking for work since. I started doing demonstrator work for Product promotions as well...where I stand and stalk you at the grocery store...but they pay $20 an hour so who cares. People who see me there always say OMG this job is perfect for you!! Yea...except for the standing part!!! OUCH! My back and recovering ankle doesn't like it...but if I rock my sexy black CROCS then it's better. I have to cover my tattoos and can't have my pink hair...so this won't last! LOL But it's income....doing what I need to do.
My man has head some health issues and I have been a little care-giver and hopefully he's out of the woods there. He's trying to FINALLY eat healthy as well and even though I am preaching it...he seems shocked that his blood sugars are amazing now...idiot! Sorry but I have been telling him for 6+ years how to eat and trying to help him with his diabetes, heart problems, high BP, high CHO,etc etc etc.....

SOoooooo that is where I've been. I will try to stay more connected on here again. I do love it here...there's just so many hours in a day. :)

As of like 4 PM today I was actually offered a position at a local gym for women...so fingers crossed it all works out.

For the guy who posted a comment...I deleted it...first of all I'm not in America and second of all I am grateful for everything and everyone in my life and thirdly, if you're just going to post snotty comments you should keep them to yourself ...ironic from someone who uses the word Lord in his profile. Everyone has different obstacles whether it be health, relationships, finances, etc....so I'm allowed to talk about mine. My blog. That is all.

Thanks for your encouraging words. Good on you for getting back from being MIA. I appreciate the difficulties you had with moving countries, sometimes I think Switzerland is so behind the times when it comes to food options. We now get things in low fat versions. Good luck with your health and job hunting, and the heath of your S.O. Looking forward to your updates. BFN Michelle

Glad to see your back. Yay for the job....Boo for the standing all the time. Pain is not good. emoticon Sorry that you have to cover your tattoos and not have your pink hair. My boss is tolerate with my tattoos. I only have 1 that the clients can see. (it's on the inside of my wrist) I did have to get rid of my pink hair too and take out some of my piercings. emoticon But it's ok b/c I can always die my hair again and out jewelry back in and/or get it re-pierced.

Glad your man is taking care of his health!! Too bad he didn't listen 6 years ago huh? Better late than never though, right?

I am keeping my fingers crossed for you on the job offer!! Let us know how it goes.

Sidetracked again!

Friday, July 13, 2012

I know that weight loss is a journey and life happens but dang! In the last 16 months this is a list of my "sidetracks" -
- Major Earthquakes ( continue since 2011) - no water, electricity, grocery shortages etc. we are great but the city is destroyed and things are moving along nicely - the big ones just put a dent in everyone's lives for several months...some are still struggling with no power and it's winter here. It didn't derail me long, but it did effect my journey.

-April 2011 - Sick and then Appendix is removed -six weeks minimum off track!

-August 2011 - Sick again...gallbladder removed - another 6-8 weeks off track!

- November 2011 - broke ankle - bed 7 weeks - WAY OFF track

- December 2011 - Blood Clots and put on blood thinners until 28 May 2012 - took another 2 hospital visits and several weeks to feel normal. Had to have birth control implants put in since I couldn't be on the pill anymore...all jacked up - body and nutrition off track.

- July 2012 - the flu, ear infection and allergies...bad enough that I went to a doctor and have been sort of off my feet for 2 weeks - not hungry - antibiotics make me queezy and the amount of snot I am producing is ridiculous! Lol I also found out I'll be losing my job on the 27th of this month...stress.

With all this going on, I have still found this to be happy/proud about:

- attempted Roller Derby (how I broke my ankle) and love it!
- cemented a BFF relationship here after not having one for a very very long time. Had 1 that came close here but nobody like my Toni. I've been in this country 6 years and I finally have someone I can tell anything to besides Earl.
- I got down to a body weight lower than when I moved here! Was so exciting...and won a trip to Samoa for 2 for a week! Thank to a six week challenge I did with www.eggcel.co.nz.
- I joined Stampin' Up! And went to Australia for their convention and I love it! It feeds my soul and helps me make extra money - just reached Supervisor Status!
- I turned 40 :)
- my healthy invention is being made and we have an investor! Can't disclose much more yet.

So with the bad comes good...I just get a little annoyed because my mind and spirit are willing, eager, and motivated but my body keeps throwing the emergency break! I love knowing that I can hop right back into what I call normal eating and get back on track when body drama subsides!

I have missed SP since I've been a bit absent but haven't forgotten all my peeps and sassy pants that I call friends xo

Hope everyone is happy and healthy.
Xo

It must be difficult to change countries. I have rarely left my state in all my life, but I'm content with that. To each his own and a different journey awaits each soul. I'm glad you've pretty much adjusted to the major changes and are feeling well now. Perhaps the changes physiologically had a lot to do with your physical mishaps and problems, allowing you time to adjust, LOL. You sound like you're grounded once again, and having a BFF is such an important plus for you. emoticon emoticon emoticon

emoticon Great to hear from you at least you are POSITIVE and not letting the setbacks take over Hope you get yourself back on track and that the country gets sorted after the earthquakes We never hear anything after something like this once the hype of the actuall event is over.So here in emoticon would think it was sorted so Praying that the country especially Christ Church at least gets some power then things might move more swiftly emoticon

You sure have had more than your share of medical problems this last year and a half, you seem to take it all in stride and are upbeat about all of it. Sorry to hear about your job coming to a close, with your great attitude I'm sure you will land in a good position soon.
So sorry for all those still without electricity, not a comfortatable situation to be in during the winter months.
Take care, and keep use informed and hope you have had the last medical problem for a long, long while.
