Day 4 of EA ACTIVE 2 on the Wii....

Tuesday, March 29, 2011

Okay...today was not as fun as yesterday. Today I had to modify things. My left knee was dislocated during a skiing mishap :) years ago!! I was actually on a second date...nice! LOL So graceful I ended up in the medics office all day watching Julia Childs on a lil black and white tv....but I digress......

Anywho...there are things I recently learned that even if my mind says do it...my knee says..yea...I don't think so! Mountain climbers, jumping jacks, etc. Jillian Michael's workouts taught me that...well today there were HEAPS of them! So I ran in place or found some other way to challenge that muscle the same way while getting the sensor to read that I was doing that exercise. My heart rate was over 181!!!!! WOWZA! Never have I ever seen that number! LOL So...for those of you who have written me and are reading my blogs about this amazing program, don't be discouraged if things hurt...you can modify and move forward. You can design your own workouts too..which I may do a whole boxing one for a fun day! :) Today we did mountain boarding where you basically skateboard in the mountains, do jumps, and run a course. That was sort of fun...had to collect little orbs and jump on rails, etc. But again...I burned 238 calories, got my heart rate to 181 in less than 30 minutes. SO...We'll see what tomorrow brings. My scale has moved heaps too since Monday!
Have a great Wednesday everyone on this side of the globe...or to my peeps state side...Tuesday! :)

Glad you were able to alter the exercises to meet your needs. I'm still reading with interest - undecided on whether to buy all of this stuff or not. . .

I got the game last week but had problems with the bluetooth. So, I ended up exchanging it and just started this week. Today was day two. I almost past on the floor exercises. Planks I can do. Wasnt so sure about the bent arm push ups. I can do the push up part, it is the kneeling part I wasnt so sure of. But I did them! Yesterday the game bugged out on me on the 2nd to last exercise. I had 146 calories burned in. Thankfully I saw that before it bugged out. Today was 157.5 calories. Only have gotten my heart rate up to 146 though. Tommorrow is a rest day for me. I cant wait to get back to it Thursday. The skateboarding sounds like a blast :) I never thought I'd like mountain bike riding lol. Especially because it involves squats! Cant wait to see what else is coming up. I will be checking in here to see what I have to look forward to :)

Day 3 workout on EA Active 2 was fun!

Tuesday, March 29, 2011

Today I did day 3 on the Wii EA Active 2....I loved the cardio boxing and aerobics! Ahhh the memories of aerobics! LOL Another great workout but felt more fun because I did well...ha ha ha funny how that works!

Made homemade lasagna for my man, his bio-dad, and myself....wholewheat pasta sheets, turkey meat, extra veggies, and low fat cheese. It was yummy! But filling and one of my clients came over to get some product and I gave her some lasagna to take home. :) It's not something I eat often..especially due to cheese! :) But I also made asparagus and had plenty of veggies for lunch and worked out...so I am all good! :)

Well, I have to get back to our guests and I may take a walk to the mailbox a couple of blocks down! :)
Have a great rest of the week!

That is too funny - I came home to my hubby making lasagna too! He substituted one layer of pasta with zucchini and used a turkey meat too. LOL. He did cheat and use one jar of Prego's heart healthy pasta that's lower sodium - instead of my homemade sauce in the freezer.. he did put in diced tomatoes and made it yummy so I can't complain too much.

I really need to try that Wii EA Active 2 game.. I'm on a mission now.. lol

Ever Have One Of Those Days..or 2....or 3????

Sunday, March 27, 2011

I have NO IDEA what the heck is going on, but I think it has started to pass. The last 3 days I have had SERIOUS cravings!!! Like I haven't had in years! So weird. Not sure if Auntie Flo is about to drop in or what...but it's been insane. Yesterday I ate at least 12 servings of vegetables and a couple of fruit...was all good and I even started the extra banana berry gum, low fat hot chocolate, jello...NOTHING was helping. Finally I said screw it and actually drove and got my damn Pringles...which was fine except i really wanted these sour gummy things and when I got to the grocery store I walked up and down the candy isle several times and just didn't want ANYTHING!!! Which how I normally feel...but they didn't have the exact thing I was craving, so I didn't get any sweets. Ended up having some tea with honey and that was good. But seriously...this is what's been going on for about 3 days. I even wonder if it has something to do with my new allergy meds...but that's not normally a side effect is it?! UGH....I did everything I teach my clients and NOTHING worked, so I just stopped trying to fight it and just gave in. Today I didn't eat on plan and I just ate whenever....whatever....it was nice not thinking, but I hate not having everything planned! HA HA So...tomorrow is Monday and I am crossing my fingers that everything goes back to normal...even though after salt and sugar it takes me a good 3 days to be "normal" feeling again! I hate those downer days...coming down from sugar and salt sucks! It's easier not to have any....it's probably like crack...not that I'd know! LOL

So....send me some good healthy rid of craving vibes please....hate not feeling satisfied and in control!!! YIKES!

I had one of those this week. I ended up eating some skittles to crave it. I made sure to only buy a small bag, and then eat a few wait, eat a few, wait. Finally got it out of my system.

Do you have PopChips there? I LOVE chips, they are my downfall, and it used to be those cheddar Pringles, or sour cream, or .. lol. you understand. Well, I found PopChips an awesome way to satisfy my craving for chips, and they are actually healthy for you!!! I count out one serving into a bowl, and it's like 20 or 23 chips depending on the flavor (the healthiest are original & bbq, low sodium, good flavor). Since I found some healthier alternatives, the cravings seem to be gone again.

It sounds like you did awesome with the cravings :)

It's been awhile for me, but I do know what you are talking about. It will pass, and it sounds like you have a very good handle on how to give into the cravings in a pretty sane way.

Hang in there.

Have a good day and a great week with your plan. emoticon

No...I didn't go crazy...but THE FEELING has been terrible...I do the whole analyzing thing of...are you really hungry, or sad, or bored, or anxious...etc. But when the cravings get so bad I actually leave the house without makeup to do a Pringles run...Lord help me! WTH?! I don't like feeling! I don't feel guilty...I've learned that doesn't help me in anyway! But since it's been so long since I had MAJOR cravings...it's thrown me and I don't like it! STOMP MY FEET STOMP MY FEET!!!!

I am sending lots of good energy your way. It doesn't sound like you went extremely overboard, so that's good. Best of luck beating these cravings! emoticon

Working Out At Home Again

Friday, March 25, 2011

Since the recent earthquake, my gym has become clogged with NEW members from all the other gyms that are no longer standing, the rescue, military, police, priests, and insurance adjesters from other countries, other trainers from other gyms and their clients...etc. It's an ANYTIME FITNESS....there's not that much space to begin with! So it finally got to the point where I don't enjoy working out at the gym anymore. That sucks big time. So I did some research and found that the EA Active 2 Wii game has been rated #1 for awhile so I have it. Did day 2 today and OMG....it's insane. my heart rate was 175..I don't think it's EVER been that high. It's a hard workout man! 30 minutes I burned about 230 calories and it's circuit training for the 9 week challenge that I started yesterday! So...I'll keep you posted on how it goes. I miss my gym due to the A/C and I love big weight machines and how they feel. This program from EA comes with a heartrate monitor, sensors, resistance band, and you can choose to use your balance board and weights with it too. I even used my swiss ball today for something due to my lower back issues. So...it's pretty cool.

I think the Wii Fit Plus is a really great introduction to interactive games and fitness, and I still love Just dance for fun cardio...but this is a whole different type of game...it's serious...it's fun and has some game segments like football and basketball training, but I haven't seen hula hoops or clowns if ya' catch my drift! It's a trainer and you! I drink a couple bottles of water during it as well....okay...I'm rambling...I am just impressed at the intensity from a game...I am 38 years old and I still remember when computers came out and I had ATARI! LOL
Have a great weekend!

Thanks for sharing information about this. The last game system I have owned (and still own) was my Original Nintendo from when I was a kid. I have toyed with the notion of getting a Wii or a Kinnect, but I never know which is better or if they have good exercise games. Of course, wherever I go, they say this game is good and this is good and it's not really people reviewing them as much as companies trying to sell them, you know? Anyhow, I think it's great that you found an alternative to your crowded gym and you've found it works for you. Way to go! :) Have a great weekend!

    I LOVED my Atari.

This is an awesome review of the game! I want to run out and buy it! I can't for a few more weeks due to budget constraints (i'm really trying to be good), this will definitely be the next purchase. Thank you! :) :) I love my Wii and wanted something like this. We have Dance Dance Revolution for fun aerobics. We never got Wii Fit Plus though. I did get a few of the biggest workout dvds (which is what i've been using). I like the Wii fit because it tracks what you do, makes it easier to write down, so I don't forget!

Today was a beautiful day...my man met his birth father this morning and it's 9:10 at night now and they are sitting on the couch watching Rugby together and sitting next to them is my man's birth sister who he recently found as well. It's very cool! So happy for my man. We went out for dinner and it's just so happy to see. What a shock for this lovely man who never could have kids with the wife he had and now has passed...he now knows he has 2 children and 2 grandchildren! And I can tell my man is so happy and excited to watch Rugby with his father. He still will always love his "dad" and "mom" who raised him, but now he can get all his questions answered.

Yea for miracles!!! :)

That is so awesome! My birth father and I lost contact when I was 5 or 6. My mom took off with me to two different states and then finally settled down and remarried when I was 8 and changed my last name. So I met my bio-dad when I was 23. It's a great feeling, and it sounds like your man is having a great experience/beginning!! I'm so happy for you all!
