Wasn't This US??

Sunday, May 20, 2012

HEY, WASN'T THIS US ?

A little house with three bedrooms,

one bathroom and one car on the street.

A mower that you had to push

to make the grass look neat.

In the kitchen on the wall

we only had one phone,

And no need for recording things,

someone was always home.

We only had a living room

where we would congregate,

unless it was at mealtime

in the kitchen where we ate.

We had no need for family rooms

or extra rooms to dine.

When meeting as a family

those two rooms would work out fine.

We only had one TV set

and channels maybe two,

But always there was one of them

with something worth the view.

For snacks we had potato chips

that tasted like a chip.

And if you wanted flavor

there was Lipton's onion dip.

Store-bought snacks were rare because

my mother liked to cook

and nothing can compare to snacks

in Betty Crocker's book.

Weekends were for family trips

or staying home to play.

We all did things together --

even go to church to pray.

When we did our weekend trips

depending on the weather,

no one stayed at home because

we liked to be together.

Sometimes we would separate

to do things on our own,

but we knew where the others were

without our own cell phone.

Then there were the movies

with your favorite movie star,

and nothing can compare

to watching movies in your car.

Then there were the picnics

at the peak of summer season,

pack a lunch and find some trees

and never need a reason.

Get a baseball game together

with all the friends you know,

have real action playing ball --

and no game video.

Remember when the doctor

used to be the family friend,

and didn't need insurance

or a lawyer to defend?

The way that he took care of you

or what he had to do,

because he took an oath and strived

to do the best for you.

Remember going to the store

and shopping casually,

and when you went to pay for it

you used your own money?

Nothing that you had to swipe

or punch in some amount,

and remember when the cashier person

had to really count?

The milkman used to go

from door to door,

And it was just a few cents more

than going to the store.

There was a time when mailed letters

came right to your door,

without a lot of junk mail ads

sent out by every store.

The mailman knew each house by name

and knew where it was sent;

there were not loads of mail addressed

to "present occupant."

There was a time when just one glance

was all that it would take,

and you would know the kind of car,

the model and the make.

They didn't look like turtles

trying to squeeze out every mile;

they were streamlined, white walls, fins

and really had some style.

One time the music that you played

whenever you would jive,

was from a vinyl, big-holed record

called a forty-five.

The record player had a post

to keep them all in line

and then the records would drop down

and play one at a time.

Oh sure, we had our problems then,

just like we do today

and always we were striving,

trying for a better way.

Oh, the simple life we lived

still seems like so much fun,

how can you explain a game,

just kick the can and run?

And why would boys put baseball cards

between bicycle spokes

and for a nickel, red machines

had little bottled Cokes?

This life seemed so much easier

and slower in some ways.

I love the new technology

but I sure do miss those days.

So time moves on and so do we

and nothing stays the same,

but I sure love to reminisce

and walk down memory lane.

Thanks for the memories. Except for kick the can, all of these events were part of my childhood. I do remember my mother informing me during my junior year in high school that one weekend a month was to be "family time" and I was expected to participate.

Mitt Romney info jimbo

Saturday, May 19, 2012

This is sooo incredible, this man is truly very generous! How many people would do this?

MITT ROMNEY INFO
This article can be verified at www.snopes.com. It is completely true. I'd
suggest you read the Snopes website for the additional comments about Romney:

Whether you like Romney or not, this story is very revealing.
Sometimes, this facet of Romney's personality isn't so subtle.

In July, 1996, the 14-year-old daughter of Robert Gay, a partner at Bain
Capital, had disappeared. She had attended a rave party in New York
City and gotten high on ecstasy.

Three days later, her distraught father had no idea where she was, and Romney took immediate action.

He closed down the entire firm and asked all 30 partners and employees to
fly to New York to help find Gay's daughter.

Romney set up a command center at the LaGuardia Marriott and hired a private detective firm to assist with the search.

He established a toll-free number for tips, coordinating the effort with the NYPD, and went through his Rolodex and called everyone Bain did business with in New York, and asked them to help find his friend's missing daughter.

Romney's accountants at Price Waterhouse Cooper put up posters on street
poles, while cashiers at a pharmacy owned by Bain put fliers in the bag of
every shopper.

Romney and the other Bain employees scoured every part of New York
and talked with everyone they could... prostitutes, drug addicts, anyone.

That day, their hunt made the evening news, which featured photos of
the girl and the Bain employees searching for her.

As a result, a teenage boy phoned in, asked if there was a reward, and then hung up abruptly.

The NYPD traced the call to a home in New Jersey, where they
found the girl in the basement, shivering and experiencing withdrawal
symptoms from a massive ecstasy dose. Doctors later said the girl
might not have survived another day.

Romney's former partner credits Mitt Romney with saving his daughter's life, saying, "It was the most amazing thing, and I'll never forget this to the day I die."

So, here's my epiphany: Mitt Romney simply can't help himself.

He sees a problem, and his mind immediately sets to work solving it, sometimes consciously, and sometimes not-so-consciously.

He doesn't do it for self-aggrandizement, or for personal gain. He does it because that's
just how he's wired.

Many people are unaware of the fact that when Romney was asked by his
old employer, Bill Bain, to come back to Bain & Company as CEO to
rescue the firm from bankruptcy, Romney left Bain Capital to work at
Bain & Company for an annual salary of one dollar.

When Romney went
to the rescue of the 2002 Salt Lake Olympics, he accepted no salary
for three years, and wouldn't use an expense account. He also accepted
no salary as Governor of Massachusetts.

Character counts!

The media and Obama re-election machine will focus
on Romney's wealth and the immorality of it, as they see it, but Romney is
a man who uses his wealth to bless and to make this world a better place.

Let's get this message out because it is not likely that the media will do
so!

No Bibles at Walter Reed Hospital?????

Wednesday, May 16, 2012

Doesn’t anyone SEE what’s happening?
Doesn’t anyone CARE?

This is TRUE.
If you doubt it, just Google “SNOPES.COM” and query “WALTER REED HOSPITAL BANS BIBLE”

The soldiers who wake up in Walter Reed Medical Center are in Maryland --not communist China . But under the Navy's new rules, they may not know the difference!
After months of peeling away the military's core values, Obama's army is on the move, and this time, it has a high-value target: the Bible.
In a memo obtained by F.R.C. (Family Research Council), Navy officials have announced that "no religious items (including Bibles, reading material, and/or artifacts) are allowed to be given away or used during a visit."
The new orders are buried in a four-page document about patient care, which an Army officer forwarded to us in disbelief. Effective immediately, families, friends, and even pastors will have to check their beliefs at the door to visit one of the largest military hospitals in the United States .

Last night, after we circulated the memo to leaders on the Hill, an outraged Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) took to the House floor and blasted the policy. "Mr. Speaker, these military men and women who are recovering at Walter Reed and Bethesda have given their all for America ... They've defended and taken an oath to the Constitution, and here they are:

The people that come to visit them can't bring a religious artifact? They can't bring a Bible? ...A priest can't walk in and offer communion to a patient who might be on their deathbed because it's prohibited in this memo from the Department of the Navy?"

This is Obama's military, where homosexuality is celebrated and Christianity is censored; where witches are financed and crosses are scorned; and Bibles are banned; where same-sex "weddings" are encouraged but international charity is not. After three years of ideological warfare, the administration's intent is clear: to disarm the military of its biggest weapon. Faith.
Regardless of President Obama's agenda, there is absolutely nothing in the Constitution that empowers the government to stop family members from giving Bibles or crosses to their loved ones. And from a PR standpoint, I'm not sure the best way to boost approval ratings is by denying comfort to wounded warriors. Unfortunately for our troops, who have endured so much turmoil under the Obama administration, this is another blow. Hopefully, with the help of Congressman King and others, it's only a temporary one.

Americans, shout out about this one!!!!!

I CARE! I'm also am amazed at this. It's so hard for me to believe it's come to this. What is so amazing is that in today's Navy, where tolerance is "in", they pick and choose what they want to be tolerant about and what they do not.

Thank you for spreading the news about this shameful development.

No Free Speech Zones!!!!!!!!

Thursday, March 29, 2012

If you do nothing else today, get on your computer and search the video of HR347 Anti Protest Law.

Obama has signed this IN SECRET, and we are in severe danger of losing our right to free speech.

It would be up to the Feds and police to determine if an individual, or a group of individuals, are protesting the current lifestyle of this administration.

This could include churches, church picnics in parks, school functions, tea party gatherings, you name it.

Today, the police arrested a man reading the Bible out loud 50 feet away from a CLOSED DMV.

If convicted of said crime, he can go to prison for up to 20 years.

Protesting will be a FELONY.

Now are you just going to sit quietly and believe there is nothing you can do??? Are you willing to live like pre-WWII Germany with the Brown Shirts?

Our Nation was founded by a group of people who dared to protest the King's restrictive way of life. Our founders were willing to lay down their lives for our freedom, and many of them did indeed lose their lives in the battle.

You can call your Congressmen and women, write to your newspapers, spread the word of this dangerous new law in any way you possibly can.

And yes, you CAN organize a protest against said law. Or at least participate in such a protest.

Believe me, I am going to do whatever I can to get this thing STOPPED, AND STOPPED NOW!!

This is more than Socialism; it is Facism, heading straight for Dictatorship. And it is on a very fast moving train.

I am a Delegate for my state, and I will shout to the high rafters to protect our rights as citizens of this country. But I am only one voice.

America needs all of us to protect her and our Constitutional Rights of Freedom.

This President has been caught so many times taking actions to alienate us from our freedoms. Remember when he said "Bitterly clinging to guns and religion"?

Do you recall what he said about our National Anthem that it was "promoting violence"?

How about stopping the National Day of Prayer?

Let's not even get in to forcing religions to pay for abortions against their beliefs.

His promise during his campaign that "energy costs will definitely sky-rocket" due to his plans??

We have all slumbered too long. We must now defend our country from enemies within.

Please join in the fight to preserve our country and our rights from all these stifling new laws, rules and regulations. Vote the enemies OUT!!!!

Are You Paying Attention to America?

Monday, March 26, 2012

Quietly, and with little fanfare, President Obama signed a "National Defense Resources Preparedness" Executive Order on Friday. As the name suggests, the order intends to shore up the country's national defense resources in advance of a national emergency.

To be fair, this is not the first time that such an order has been written. Presidents Bush (II), Clinton, Reagan, and even Eisenhower provided directives in the same spirit as President Obama's order-- providing some level of government commandeering in times of national emergency.

In the past, these orders have related to things like production capacity for defense contractors, or giving FEMA authority to resolve disputes between other departments in federally designated emergency areas.

President Obama's order, however, takes things much, much further.

(1) The order vastly expands the role of Homeland Security... as if these knuckleheads didn't already have too much influence in people's lives. Apparently highways, shopping malls, airports, bus stations, Wal-Marts, hotels, train stations, etc. aren't enough for DHS. Now the Secretary of DHS will:

a) "advise the President on issues of national defense resource preparedness".

This one is really clear. Under normal circumstances, matters related to defense would fall under the Secretary of Defense... or perhaps the National Security Advisor. Giving such responsibility to DHS suggests that the government is expecting an emergency from within.

b) "provide for the central coordination of the plans and programs... under this order, and provide guidance to agencies assigned functions under this order..."

DHS now has authority to direct the emergency preparedness of every other government department. The Secretary of Homeland Security has effectively become the Emergency Czar.

c) have oversight of "all other national defense programs, including civil defense and continuity of Government."

In case it wasn't clear before, the people who molest children and radiate travelers will have total and complete control in some event defined as a national emergency in the sole discretion of the President.

(2) The order further provides for an effective nationalization of the entire US economy in the event of an emergency.

The Secretary of Labor, for example, will "collect and maintain data necessary to make a continuing appraisal of the Nation's workforce needs for purposes of national defense" and then "formulate plans, programs, and policies for meeting the labor requirements of actions to be taken for national defense purposes."

In other words, the Labor Department becomes the Ministry of Plenty, and all the good little citizens will be forcibly reallocated to other jobs. This turned out really well for the Soviets.

(3) The purpose of this order, for example, is to "take actions necessary to ensure the availability of adequate resources and production capability, including services and critical technology, for national defense requirements;"

It goes on to list 'adequate resources' to include things like:

(i) "all forms of energy including petroleum, gas (both natural and manufactured), electricity, solid fuels... solar, wind, other types of renewable energy, atomic energy", etc.

(ii) "all usable water, from all sources, within the jurisdiction of the United States, that can be managed, controlled, and allocated to meet emergency requirements..."

(iii) "all commodities and products... that are capable of being ingested by either human beings or animals..."

(iv) "drugs, biological products, medical devices, materials, facilities, health supplies, services and equipment required to diagnose, mitigate or prevent the impairment of, improve, treat, cure, or restore the physical or mental health conditions of the population."

Hmmmm. Food. Water. Energy. Medicine. Security. All the stuff that human beings need at a basic level to survive. Except that Obama's executive order puts all of these resources under control of the government and allocates them exclusively to meet the needs of government.

In this capacity, we are all merely subordinates to the interests of the state... and it should be absolutely clear at this point where normal people stand in the grand pecking order: Citizens are resources to be exploited and sacrificed in order to ensure the continuity of government.

In the event of some catastrophe, you will be stripped of basic resources so that the government can survive. A free society cannot exist under a system in which the state exercises such control... or has the authority to exercise such control.

Taken in conjunction with the NSA's new Utah spy center (which will collect and archive the complete contents of every email, tweet, Facebook post, Google search, phone call, and text message) and the National Defense Authorization Act, it's clear that the Obama administration is expecting trouble from within.

And with good reason. By every possible calculation (except flat-out fraud), the US government is completely insolvent, and its balance sheet is growing worse by the day. The dollar is beginning to be seriously challenged as the global reserve standard, and every effort politicians make to 'fix' the economy only makes things worse.

As a matter of convenience, people are willing to deal with a lot of pain. They'll suffer through wars, recessions, and all sorts of national unpleasantness. But the moment that rapidly decaying economics and shortages prevent people from being able to put food on the table for their families, they rise up. Just look at the Arab Spring.

This is all playing out with nearly perfect historical precision. Time and time again throughout history as once great empires accelerated their declines, governments have taken steps to protect their interests against the people.

In the past, they have imposed curfews, disarmed the population, curtailed civil liberties, and declared national emergencies, usually against some great faceless enemy from abroad who threatens their way of life.

As it turns out, though, our great faceless enemy is not some mythical boogeyman living in a cave, nor some angry brown person who hates us for our freedoms... but the very people within the system who've taken an oath to 'support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.'

Have you hit your breaking point yet?

“A man’s admiration for absolute government is proportionate to the contempt he feels for those around him”. de Tocqueville

A quote from a 1969 speech from William T. Gossett, then president of the American Bar Association:
"The rule of law can be wiped out in one misguided, however well-intentioned generation. And if that should happen, it could take a century of striving and ordeal to restore it, and then only at the cost of the lives of many good men and women."

Until tomorrow, Pay Attention!!
