The fact that I'm writing this blog is proof that I am still alive.
I did both the cardio AND the Day 2 Video.
I was fine on the cardio. Slid right through it. Actually, it was the easiest one on the video of Cardio Blast..........No. 1, the Walk It Out. Sure, it is the easiet one, but hey! At least I did it!!
By the time I finished that, including the warm up and cool down, the video of Day 2 was downloaded.
By the way........does anyone else go nuts over how long these videos take to download???
Ah, back to Day 2. It claims to be a "take off on pilates". Don't let them kid you.
It is a killer. At least it was for me.
I get down on the floor, thinking "Okay, Day 2. I can do this!"
A big fat HA!
It is working on the abs. Never my favorite thing to work on, as my abs are not in the best of shape anyway.
I have my knees bent, and keeping my back straight, I am supposed to lean back as far as I can, and then come forward again.
Okay. I do that one with not much ado.
Then we slightly alter our position and do it again.
I do it, but not quite so cheerfully.
As we move along, the workout gets tougher and tougher. I manage to keep up, but there is a LOT of negative thoughts entering my head.
I do NOT want to do this, but I have been challenged. Ergo, I continue.
My abs are beginning to scream in protest louder than those protesters in Wisconsin.
My arms feel like they each have cinder blocks attached to them, and are getting harder and harder to keep elevated.
On my back now..........finally a rest, right?
WRONG. Remember, Dear Ones, we are dealing with the Nasty Nicole. She who loves to see me suffer.
I am doing crunches on my back, doing another thing on my hands and knees where I am supposedly balancing my body with having my right arm out and my left leg out.
Then she says "pulse it!". Right.
I have BEEN "pulsing it" all along, trying to keep my balance.
Oh, goody. Now she expects me to do the same thing with left arm and right leg.
This woman is a monster. She has no respect for my chubby body, nor my ancient age.
She blithly goes on her merry way, all cheerful and everything, to the next torture chamber.
By now I am so angry with her that no WAY will I give up!! I will not give her the satisfaction of seeing me quit!
I'm sure she has caught on, and is now being all nice and easy peasy doing stretching.
THIS I can do. I want to stay in the stretch on the floor forever. I am safe there.
The stretching feels ever so GOOD!!
I continue on throughout the routine, and now am finished.
All this time, my cat, YeowLing, has been on the floor with me. Except she isn't doing a workout. She has been sleeping on her back.
A real encourager, that one.
I think tomorrow I will attach weights to her feet and make her suffer along with me.
Day 2 is COMPLETED.

Milk might do a body good, but if it’s unpasteurized milk sold by an Amish farmer across state lines, it’s a whole other story… or at least according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The Washington Times reports:
A yearlong sting operation, including aliases, a 5 a.m. surprise inspection and surreptitious purchases from an Amish farm in Pennsylvania, culminated in the federal government announcing this week that it has gone to court to stop Rainbow Acres Farm from selling its contraband to willing customers in the Washington area.
The product in question: unpasteurized milk.
It’s a battle that’s been going on behind the scenes for years, with natural foods advocates arguing that raw milk, as it’s also known, is healthier than the pasteurized product, while the Food and Drug Administration says raw milk can carry harmful bacteria such as salmonella, E. coli and listeria.
And so, let the nanny state regulation begin. Well, actually, let it continue. We’re seeing an awful lot of it these days, especially when it comes to food. Take vending machines, for example. Heritage’s Diane Katz writes:
To temper the snack food cravings we are supposedly incapable of controlling, Congress is forcing vendors to post the calorie counts of vending machine items. Thus, we’ll supposedly pick the healthier brand of potato chips, cookies, candy, and soft drinks.
Expect to see more of it. Last year, President Barack Obama signed the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act, which grants the FDA a host of new powers. Katz explains:
The FDA Food Safety Modernization Act would authorize the FDA to dictate how farmers grow fruits and vegetables, including rules governing soil, water, hygiene, packing, temperatures, and even what animals may roam which fields and when. It would also increase inspections of food “facilities” and tax them to do so. And, fulfilling the dream of a long line of agency officials, the bill grants the FDA unilateral authority to order recalls.
On top of being costly ($1.4 billion in new spending between 2011 and 2015), the necessity of new regulatory powers is questionable. The motivating force behind FDA regulations — and the reason for the crackdown on Rainbow Acre Farms — is a concern over food-borne illness. Katz says that incidents of such illnesses “have actually been declining for more than a decade, in spite of higher consumption of the raw foods that are most often associated with outbreaks of food-borne illness.”

Okay. A new challenge.
I love challenges. I am a very competitive person, and challenges fire me up.
Spring into Shape Challenge has my old nemisis, Nicole, leading it. Wouldn't you just know it!!
The challenge is set to start May 1, but what the heck. I was motivated today, so today I started it.
Day one was a kickboxing 10 minute video. I have done this before, but not for a while. For the most part, I did okay.
Until the jumping jacks.
Now some of you KNOW that I am not co-ordinated enough to do jumping jacks. Not to mention that I can't imagine jumping my body completely off the floor and landing safely.
Because I am not a stranger to her wicked Cardio Blast workout video, I knew she was going to come up with those damned jumping jacks. And I knew I wasn't going to do them.
Instead, I jogged in place FAST. I think that is a fair trade-off.
My glisten was running down my face, so I know I at least was doing cardio.
Then there's the other one where you are doing a side kick and then have to punch the opposite direction.
I would have been better off had I just continued to run in place.
DH walked into the room as I was attempting this one. His eyes got really big, and then he burst out laughing.
I judiciously kept on with the attempted workout.
He looked at the screen and saw what I was supposed to be doing.
He laughed so hard he had to hold his stomach. Tears were running down his face.
I kept going.
The roaring of his laughter didn't help my attitude at all.
I hopped over to the laughing fool and punched him. Hard.
He staggered out of the room.
Nicole must have seen me punch him, because she switched to a different routine.
Ah, workouts. They're good for the emotional well being some times!
I feel great!

HOW ABOUT ONE PIECE OF EVIDENCE THAT THE IMPOSTER EVER EXISTED-mrm.
OK... this is past the 'birthers' questions.... this is just plain old
common sense, no political agendas for either side.
Just common knowledge that citizens of a country and especially American citizens who even know that Andrew Jackson's wife smoked a corn cob pipe and was accused of adultery or that Lincoln never went to school or Kennedy wore a back brace or Truman played the piano.
Good grief... we are Americans! We are known for our humanitarian interests
and caring for our 'fellow man'.
We care, but none of us know one single humanizing fact about the history of our own president.
Honestly, and this is a personal thing...but it's niggled at me for ages that no one who ever dated him ever showed up.
The simple fact of his charisma that caused the women to be drawn to him so obviously during his campaign, looks like some lady would not have missed the opportunity....
We all know about JFK's magnetism, McCain was no monk, Palin's courtship and even her athletic prowess were probed... Biden's aneurisms are no secret. Look at Cheney and Clinton.. we all know about their heart problems and certainly speaking of the opposite sex- how could I have left out Wild Bill before or during the White House?
Nope... not one lady has stepped up and said, "He was soooo shy..." or "What a great dancer!!"
Now look at the rest of this... no classmates, not even the recorder for the Columbia class notes ever heard of him....
.... I just dunno about this fellow.
Who was the best man at his wedding? Start there. Then check groomsmen.
Then get the footage of the graduation ceremony. Has anyone talked to the
It is odd that no one is bragging that they knew him or taught him or lived with him.
When did he meet Michele and how? Are there photos there? Every president
gives to the public all their photos, etc. for their library, etc. What has
And who in hell voted for him to be the most popular man in 2010?????
Does this make you wonder?
Ever wonder why no one ever came forward from President Obama's past saying
they knew him, attended school with him, was his friend, etc. ??
Not one person has ever come forward from his past.
VERY, VERY STRANGE..
This should really be a cause for great concern. To those who voted for him,
you may have elected an unqualified, inexperienced shadow man. Did you see a
picture called The Manchurian Candidate?.....
Let's face it. As insignificant as we all are .. someone whom we went to
school with remembers our name or face ... someone remembers we were the
clown or the dork or the brain or the quiet one or the bully or something
George Stephanopoulos of ABC News said the same thing during the 2008
campaign. He questions why no one has acknowledged the president was in
their classroom or ate in the same cafeteria or made impromptu speeches on
Stephanopoulos also was a classmate of Obama at Columbia -- the class of
1984. He says he never had a single class with him.
While he is such a great orator, why doesn't anyone in Obama's college class
remember him? And, why won't he allow Columbia to release his records?
NOBODY REMEMBERS OBAMA AT COLUMBIA
Looking for evidence of Obama's past, Fox News contacted 400 Columbia
University students from the period when Obama claims to have been there,
but none remembered him.
Wayne Allyn Root was, like Obama, a political science major at Columbia who
also graduated in 1983.
In 2008, Root says of Obama, "I don't know a single person at Columbia that
knew him, and they all know me. I don't have a classmate who ever knew
Barack Obama at Columbia .. EVER!"
Nobody recalls him.
Root adds that he was also, like Obama, "Class of '83 political science, pre-law" and says, "You don't get more exact or closer than that. Never met him in my life, don't know anyone who ever met him.
At the class reunion, our 20th reunion five years ago, who was asked to be the
speaker of the class? Me. No one ever heard of Barack!
And five years ago, nobody even knew who he was. The guy who writes the class notes, who's kind of the, as we say in New York, 'the macha' who knows everybody, has yet to find a person, a human who ever met him."
Obama's photograph does not appear in the school's yearbook and Obama
consistently declines requests to talk about his years at Columbia , provide
school records, or provide the name of any former classmates or friends
while at Columbia ..
NOTE: Root graduated as Valedictorian from his high school, Thornton-Donovan
School , then graduated from Columbia University in 1983 as a Political
Science major in the same class in which Barack Hussein Obama states he was.
Some other interesting questions..
Why was Obama's law license inactivated in 2002?
Why was Michelle's law license inactivated by Court Order?
It is circulating that according to the U.S. Census, there is only one
Barack Obama but 27 Social Security numbers and over 80 aliases.
WHAT!! ??? The Social Security number he uses now originated in Connecticut
where he is never reported to have lived.
No wonder all his records are sealed!
Somewhere, someone had to know him in school...before he "reorganized"
Chicago & burst upon the scene at the 2004 Democratic Convention & made many swoon with his charm, poise & speaking pizzazz.
WHO IS THIS GUY ANYWAY?????
It is indeed a scary question when one thinks of our National Security. Have we had an outsider blindside us???

I sold my Tin Lizzie, the long arm quilting machine.
I bought it with all good intentions of getting a lot of work done with it.
Instead, it really turned out to be just another place for me to pile up fabric, patterns, books, completed or nearly completed projects, magazines, notes to myself, you name it, it held a lot of piles!
Long arm machines are wonderful; don't get me wrong. But they're not wonderful if one doesn't use them for anything other than a rack.
My "Little Sister" in the quilt club, Mary Ann, bought it.
I am certain she will get much use out of it, which is better for all of us.
I always use my little table top Elna
She serves me well, and has many miles on her. I love that machine!! We know each other's temperaments, and get along quite nicely. Turning the music on, sitting at my Elna and creating something wonderful is about the best form of relaxation I get.
This is an end of an era for me. I can feel it. I can smell it, I can see it.
I am down-sizing.
Yes, I have finally reached that point in my life that, if I don't use it, I don't need it. Pass it on to someone who will get use out of it.
I have a new passion for quilting now. I want to make wall quilts from my photos of places I have been on my hikes around my beautiful scenic peninsula.
My eyes aren't what they used to be, so I am turning to art type of quilting. I want to get as many done as I can while I can still see to do them.
Ah yes. Another corner has passed in my life. My values have changed. My lifestyle itself has changed.
I am a much more simple person now that I am getting older.
That doesn't mean I am sedentary. No, not at all.
I still walk fast, exercise, laugh, get excited about stuff and have wonderful, FUN friends. I still travel to places I have yet to see. I still dance.
I am more concious of what I eat, and my taste buds have changed there, too.
I'm not big on red meats any more. Occassionally it is okay, but I prefer veggies and fruit and fish.
Life is good when I can part with "things" and "stuff" that I don't use. I don't need the ego boosters any more.
It is OKAY to let go. It is FREEDOM from WANT.
It is being happy being just who I am and what I do.
I like it this way!!
Of COURSE, I will continue QUILTING!!
