Never Quit

Saturday, December 12, 2009

I found this on someone's Spark Page and I really liked it. I don't know who wrote it but thank them for the sentiment.

~~~~~~~~~Never Quit ~~~~~~~~~~
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road youíre trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but do not quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Donít give up though the pace seems slowó
You may succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victorís cup,
And he learnt too late when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure turned inside outó
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when youíre hardest hitó
Itís when things seem worst that you must not quit.
Hang in there.
Just checking in
Monday, November 30, 2009
Welcome everyone,
'Guess what. We had snow last night, actually it's still coming down, although not as much. Everything has a light dusting, it all looks so nice and clean with a carpet of snow covering everything. Winter is on it's way.
Tomorrow is weigh-in day, hope that scale moves this time. I don't think it will though since my clothes still fit the same. It's hard to get pass that 139, the scales seem to be stuck there. Maybe I should try different exercise to change things up.
I haven't been getting enough these last few days, thanks to my pooch. He is 14 yrs. old so it seem he can't hold it all night, at least he wakes me up instead of having an accident. Ahh. . . the trials and tribulations of getting on in yrs.
I'm still doing good at getting my 8 cups of water daily, in fact I'm drinking 10 - 12 cups of water now. It use to be that all I drank was diet coke, big change for me.
Well I'll sign off now, just wanted to update what was going on. Bloging helps to keep me moving.
    Thanks for blogging. Reading what is going on with other people helps to encourage me to stay on track.
Keep up the great work on the water.
weigh in day
Tuesday, November 24, 2009
Hey All,
Hope everyone is doing well. Once again it's weigh in day. Unfortunately there has been no change this week. It not very encouraging, but I need to be patient and remember that it is going to take longer for it to come off than what it took to go on.
I would like to get down another 5 lbs. in time for Christmas. I think it is doable, just have to keep on going.
Remember the story of the turtle and the rabbit. The turtle won by taking it slow and easy. Just have to hang in there.
    You can do it! 5 lbs by Christmas is a very reasonable goal. I know that I have to keep reminding myself that the weight did not get there overnight, so I can not expect it to jump off me overnight either. It would be great if it could though emoticon
Have a great week and you will see the scale will move for you next week.
Oops. . .
Wednesday, November 04, 2009
Hey all,
Hope everyone is doing good. I really blew it on my calorie intake today. I made the mistake of eating cold cuts. Three slices of cold cuts will set you back over 300 calories. Next time I'll read the nutritional value before eating anything, no surprises that way. Had my son set up a small TV in the exercise room yesterday, wish I'd done it sooner. I lose track of time watching TV so I walk longer on the treadmill. That's all for today. Be back on later.
    I have a TV in front of my stationary bike. It sure does make it a lot easier.
I am sorry I haven't answered anything yet, but I am going crazy for lack of time (long story of crazy life at the moment)
I will try to get back to you this weekend, that is if you still want me to.
    I love having a TV by the treadmill. It makes me feel like I am doing something constructive while I am watching TV instead of just sitting there.
Enjoy!
    I done that, eat before I know the calorie count and then I'm over. I am much better at looking before eating now.
Just remember tomorrow is another day and 300 calories does not make a pound, so you should be okay.
Blessings,
Liz
Inspiration
Monday, November 02, 2009
Everything is good. . . losing weight. . . eating healthier. . . and getting my exercising in. I never thought that I could even lose weight. . . I figured that this was it, this is me. So many people on here are my inspiration. I read the success stories and gain courage and strength from them. I now know that I am capable of losing the weight I want to and learning how to eat properly. Thank you all for being there for me.
