Water Filter Jug... the verdict!

Saturday, September 10, 2011

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

My tea no longer is oily and scaly!!!

I can drink TEA AGAIN!!!

I am truely astounded at the difference actually.

Well worth the money. We live in a disgustingly hard water area and I had had to stop having tea after my dinner as it was so revolting... happy again now!

Organic Delivery Box Week 10

Friday, September 09, 2011

Salad leaf mix, spinach, tomatoes, green beans, broccoli, peppers and fennel... which I have no idea what to do with and not that sure I even like, as only had once before and didn't really.
Black grapes, apples and banana.

Any ideas for fennel?

What about a stew with the fennel. Beef. is how I had it, with carrots. Now if you are vegetarian, then you need to adjust of course. But with the broth, it was very tastey.
Good luck!

I thought the black grapes were giant blueberries hehe!

Hmmm fennel.... i've had it with posh meals out before. Or Chinese food? A chinese recipe? Maybe that's why you had Chinese omelette today.........

Everything looks so FRESH and yum. xx

You get such fun stuff in your deliveries each week. I'm pretty envious of the fruit! This week I got one tiny muskmelon and that's the first fruit I've ever gotten in my share. I don't mind the veggies at all, but some fruit would be a nice addition. One thing I LOVE in my shares is beets. Mmm...I could eat them every day.

Fennel leaves are good with oily fish. I like to dry them and use them like dill leaves for those sorts of recipes. (Seeds too, if they share.) You might want to experiment with the leaves to make an herbal tea.
Fennel bulb is very different and I've only had it once myself and I sort of stir-fried it as I recall.
There is a home and barber shop here in town that has a huge patch of bronze fennel that over grows the sidewalk. I like walking by and getting the anise/licorice scent and pinching a leaf to nibble.

Running tomorrow...

Thursday, September 08, 2011

*laughs* I had to blog with that title.

but yes, what is it they say about the best laid plans?

New job = New children = NEW GERMS!!!!!!!

Yups, I have a delightful runny nose, sneezes and general feeling of meh. This has happened every time I have started a new place of work, you need time to get immune to the little humbugs!

Anyways, been to town and bought water filter, will test on tea soon!

Super tired now and feel muzzy, lets see if I feel up to making myself get out tomorrow, I got some new ear-phones as the wire had frayed on my old ones, and these should stay in with no hair band as well, so I do want to try them.

New buggies! Yuck! My little one has missed 5 days of school since it started mid-August. I had the sitting-down-with-Mom talk from the teachers and authorities about how she needs the routine, etc. But kidlet was sick from all the new buggies.

Running today...

Wednesday, September 07, 2011

I went out and did another mile run again today, few seconds even though I felt I went slower, I think though it felt that because I breathed easier and made a concious effort to regulate it.

My asthma isn't severe.

Its mostly triggered my changing environments, ie cool indoors to humid hot outdoors, or warm indoors to frosty outdoors etc.

I mostly manage it with breathing correctly, I dont need to take a preventative any more, ironically when I first lost a decent amount of weight it got WORSE! My nurse explained that it was due to my lungs not having had that space before and not used to moving into it!

I plan to go out again on Friday, tomorrow Im just walking into town centre to buy a water filter jug as Im sick of the disgusting hard water here meaning I can't have a cup of tea in the evenings as it goes SO slimy and gross. Coffee is fine most of the time, but I dont drink coffee after dinner time.... so filter trip tomorrow and running friday.

There, its there in black and white (and pink!) I WILL go!

Running yesterday...

Tuesday, September 06, 2011

So I tried running again yesterday, only the second time since I had surgery in May.

When I tried before, it was stull uncomfortable on the scars, and I really didnt like it.

Yesterday however it felt better. I ran a 12 minute mile.

The air here however SUCKS compared to running on the prom on the cliffs in the fresh sea air, and my chest was quite sore and I needed my inhaler for my asthma a couple times while running.

Hopefully going to go out again tomorrow and see how it feels again.
