I Sparked on my Elliptical!

Thursday, December 03, 2009

Thursday morning was an interesting day off from work. First, I did my workout with FitTV for about an hour. Then I Sparked and ate breakfast for a bit. It was hard to make another move since I had to many things to do in a couple hours. I wanted to work out on my elliptical and Spark some more articles and check my e-mail, etc. I could watch TV on my elliptical but really wanted to Spark.

Soooooo, I laid out my netbook over the elliptical control board, put on my earpiece and this Diva Got Down and Sparked!

It was a little hard moving the mouse and I had to stop a lot so I cranked up the resistance and watched a Spark video. I was having so much fun, my usual 30 minute elliptical workout turned into an hour!

I just love Working Out at Home on my Elliptical. This girl is DONE!

Oh yes, I just love my new Spark Trophies!

Thanks for all your comments. My next project is placing an external mouse I can use it instead of that tiny one on my netbook.

By the way, those SparkPeople exercise videos are pretty good. I was able to use a couple of them today in a workout and the fitness tracking for them is already set up!

Have a wonderful weekend!

See you sound like me, less the netbook on the computer. We have to be dedicated to this journey if we are going to succeed. Keep up the good work Diva!

First Turkey Day already

Friday, November 20, 2009

Had my first Thanksgiving dinner last night at our Women's club meeting. I ate very light, some light meat, no gravy, about two teaspoons of dressing and lots of raw veggies. Drank water and ate one gingerbreadman cookie.

Only one more turkey dinner to go and that's next Thursday. We will be having carry in because the hostess does not cook. So, I'm stopping off and bringing a big serving of cut-up fruit and a platter of veggies for my contribution. The main thing is being together and being thankful to be with family.

I'm just going to focus on moving while I'm gone - moving, like back away from the table! Lots of water, fruit, fresh veggies. Then on Friday, lots and lots of walking all day!

Have a great day! Don't let sick minds make your mind sick!

Want to save some more money?

Monday, October 26, 2009

At least one store I recently shopped at is offering to save you 5 cents every time you use a reusable bag. Not much but it will add up, not only for you but for our environment. Recently I heard lawmakers are considering banning paper or plastic altogether here in Florida. Guess we'd better get used to it. I'm going to miss those white pastic bags with the red target on them but next time I'm carrying my own!

I take my crate into the grocery store everytime now. It' breaks down to lay flat in my car and cart then pulls up to pile stuff in. With handles, it's easy to grab and carry straight from the store to the car to the kitchen counter.

One of the stores I shop at from time to time also charges for a bag, or you can use a box from the store, Glad I take my own

Thanks for the info. I'll take the 5 cents anytime

Thanks for the comments. I, too, save all my bags (except the ones wet from meat). Those target ones are the strongest. I really don't care for the little reusable bags. I like the large ones, especially the nylon ones that fold or roll up. I have a really large one that folds into itself I keep for shopping at warehouse stores. Lately I've been looking for another folding one with wheels. I have one now I take to the flea market with me and tuck under my arm.

My city has banned plastic bags. If you want one, you have to pay 5 cents. If you bring your own bag, that's your reward; there is no cash incentive for bringing your own bag.

You know what? Bringing my own bags is amazing! They are stronger than plastic bags, can hold more, and are easier to carry.

I keep a rolled up nylon one in my purse and a few in my car trunk. There are no excuses for not having one!

I saw that on the news as well. I have the reuseable grocery bags I just always forget to take them in the store emoticon

I reuse my target bags as trash can liners, that I will miss.

Saturday afternoon

Saturday, October 17, 2009

Ok, I slept in until 8:30, three hours later than my usual rising time. Now it's 12:34, time to get out of the house. So much to do, so many people to see, too many festivals to visit!

Have a great day!
