OK, ugh this is way harder than I thought

Friday, November 18, 2011

Ok, so years ago I lost 47+ pounds........those seemed easier than these 8 that are sticking around. It's my fault only........I have been eating candy corn like NO TOMORROW! UGH, it's totally frustrating......and has been the reason for the 8 up! UGH!
I run 4 days a week~ and sometimes 5 as in this past week.....so it seems like I'm craving more afternoon sugar! I think perhaps I'm not eating enough protein, etc.......I don't know! But I'm really HOOKED on sugar!
I have a bag of candy corn at school! I am VOWING to throw it out when I get there today!!!

    Thanks friends!
It means so much to read your posts! I'm fine when I'm at home but seems that when I'm done with work, I just stress eat the day away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UGH!!!!!!!! And it's always sugar! I have noticed on weekends, when I take a nap, I don't crave crap as much! Hmm, tells me I'm tired and my body is making me want a pick me up! GRRRRRRRRRRRR! emoticon

OMG get rid of that stuff. Flush it down the toilet. Or put it in a big bowl where your coworkers gather and then stay away until the bowl is empty.

Whenever I'm craving carbs if I eat protein instead the cravings go away. If I eat carbs I continue to crave MORE carbs. Vicious cycle.

Hang in there.

I know all about that sugar crave! It is so frustrating when that scale doesn't move. I have been battling the same situation for months. Have you lost any inches? I have lost a few inches, but, that is it. Good Luck to you. Don't give up.

Jumping back on the wagon that bucked me off!

Sunday, November 13, 2011

Hello there friends,
It's been another LONG time since I blogged!
This fall has been a tough one in the weight loss/maintenance brigade!
Sugar got a good leech-like hold on me and hasn't let go! My students
learned that I LOVED candy corn and they brought me bags and bags of the stuff in this year!
I would eat a bag in a day (actually less than a day) then I'd want more~ See how sugar wraps around our heads!

I have been taking one day at a time lately. I would like to peel off 8 pounds...of which I'm tremendously thankful it's not MORE than that, they way I was going!

I still run with friends 4 days a week, M, W, F and Saturday. I SWEAR, this has helped keep my weight in some type of 'check'!

So here I go with a new day! I am down to 134 this morning! (Earlier in the week I was at 138!) One day at a time, one foot in front of the other!

    Thanks so much Michelle,
It's very hard and I feel fall is almost harder...I think the body wants to go into 'storage' mode! I seem to crave carbs more during the fall/chillier times! UGH!
Thank you so much for your kind message! I truly appreciate it!

Long Time, No Blog....

Friday, June 17, 2011

This is a picture of me after a Warrior Dash in MD. This was about a month ago and a complete BLAST!

Well I haven't blogged in forever I see! I though by doing this, I could write about my feelings and take pressure off myself.
I have been trying so hard lately but feeling like a failure. I run (today I ran 11 miles, solo), I road bike (the other day I did 45) and I still can't seem to get off those darn 8 pounds!
Yesterday I felt really down in the dumps, today I feel better, but I just can't seem to get a grip of my portion sizes! (Just now I downed, I don't know how much of a crock pot oatmeal I had made yesterday..........right out of the pot, a big no-no)
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, so here I am, going to restart my blogging. I hope this will take some mental pressure off me and get me to appreciate what my body allows me to do.............until tomorrow...........

Hello there! I have removed some stubborn pounds, about 5 of the 8. So I'm still trying to keep at it.......each day watching what I take in (some days are so tough.......food is like a drug for me!).
One day at a time!
Thanks so much for your kind comments! emoticon

So, here it is a month later, and I see you are celebrating 4yr maintaining. Hope that means you got those 8 lbs off again, and have regained control over your eating! We all have those yucky times, but the keys getting back on the plan! Happy maintaining!

The key is consciousness. Be aware of what you eat and when you eat it and why you eat it. Then you can change your behaviour

Been ok

Thursday, October 25, 2007

OH WOW, what a week! Two days ago I get my hair cut VERY short....from below shoulders to now being about 2.5" long! WOW, what a very cute and piecey change!!! I'm loving it and will probably never go longer!!!!!!!! (Just hope it doesn't make my riding helmet be too big!)

Eating wise, I've been doing well...but oddly I've been craving (and eating too many) green peas?!?!?!?! WEIRD but I guess it's better than craving cookies and ice cream?????
ODD!

Hopefully not a total meltdown..........now cool down and get back on track. I was talking with folks I work with and we were all saying how Fall can just make you crave food so much. It must be primitive, getting ready for winter. I don't know what your diet plan is, but try to find something yummy, or satisfying for your snack. My treat when I need something (later in the evening) is Caribou Coffee (Chocolate Mocha) and a cup of coffee (I should have water). But it is 140 calories, sweet, crunchy and really satisfying. Don't go back to your OLD ways, you only melted down once, now get back on and find yourself something to help you through this weather transition. I know you can do it!!!!!!!
