MIA

I haven't been on SP as much as I use to when I first joined, or should I say, since I join Facebook.
The time I use to put into exercise, I find I'm on farmTown plowing, planting and harvesting. Or, I'm in Yoville doing coin runs or whatever.
Just pure lazy.
I've already had a bowl of ice cream, Ritz crackers, Dr. P. and York Peppermint Patty. Sure, I did have food...a sloppy joe sandwich.
My jeans fit tight, at least the ones I can get into.
I liked when we had individual challenges, someone would post something to your page to do something. A team would have fruit/veggie challenges for the week, etc.
Well, I'll see how well I do this go round.
We're going to Taco Bell for supper.

I can relate to being addicted to FB.....there's just too many games there to get
involved with ! But somehow you have to take time for your health and well
being also. FB will always be there, but your health may not ! And having
challenges for the teams does help a lot with getting one's motivation really
going ! So don't give up !!!

I can't wait to get through my Exercises, and walking. Then home to log into my Surveys then Sparkmail before getting into FT and FV. Now I have found Egg Buddies. These games are so addictive.
Last night I was so annoyed that my son wanted on for 10 mins that turned out to be 90 incase my crops died. How sad is that.

I do know what you mean. I am so addicted to FB, FarmTown, FarmVille, and YoVille. It keeps me from really spending the time on SP as I once did. Meaning I'm not near as motivated as I once was. Hopefully Saturday will change that, as I'm going to the SP Convention and looking forward to meeting other Sparkers and getting pumped full of motivation. emoticon

It's easy to let oneself get distracted. After you invest however much time on farmTown or Yoville, what do you have to show for it?

When I first joined SP, I spent so much time earning points for articles and the like, it cut into my exercise. But why was I here? Improving my health isn't optional, for me, anyway. So I created a personal goal to complete my exercise before logging on to the internet. That helped remind me of my priorities.

If you look at my page and my blogs, you'll realize you can't afford to carry excess weight into your 50s, and in your 60s it takes a super-human effort to work off the weight. It's expected that we acquire some wisdom as we age, because we'll need it to retain mastery of our lives.

I'm right there with you. I'm eating a mini hershey's bar right now and drinking an Orange Crush (first choice would have been Dr. Pepper or Mtn Dew, but I don't have that). I'm also addicted to FB. I played Farmtown for a while then got into Bejeweled and Mafia Wars.

I too don't have the drive to eat healthy. I like the idea of it, but just can't carry through.

What if we suggest a challenge to Tania and see if the team wants to go for it? (Bombshells)

Well hello I have a facebook team that I formed and I just found this page a month ago. I have a huge farmtown and I know what you mean it is very addicting, but we have to take are of our health before anything else. I have not seen any of the challenges you mentioned here. emoticon

Getting back on track

Tuesday, July 28, 2009

I think BLC is my favorite team. Playing virtual kamp has been fun, but hectic. Lots of post to keep up with. If it could have been real camp, it would be better. Actually rowing across the lake is a lot more fun, than cleaning the bathroom at home. Having a pillow fight verses scrubbing the kitchen floor.

What it does do is work my body. I've been so lax lately. I finally made it to maintenance, but didn't keep up any routine. Personal matters came into play that took my time as well.

Now, I'm back. I still have to work on my diet. I've gotten back into the Dr. Pepper, ice cream and potato sticks craze.

Going to 'Kamp' I'm getting back into doing exercises and keeping accountable.
I look forward to starting the new challenge in Sept.

    Hey, girlfriend !
Glad to see that you are getting back on track ! You just have to make time for yourself, as well as other people ......or you will be too overwhelmed ! You go, girl ! Woo Hoo !
I don't have a yearning for potato sticks; but the soda and ice cream I can definitely relate to ! The only way I can stay away from them, is to not have any in the house.... that's all I can do ! Not much willpower when it comes to those 2 foods ! So sue me ! lol

Life in general

Tuesday, June 16, 2009

Life is a changin'. My mom lives here now. I went to Ohio to help her pack up, etc, etc.
I help her get up in the mornings, after she rings the little bell. (I saw it at her house and thought it was cute, duh!). I help wash her. I let her do what she can as she needs to keep her limbs limbered up or she'll be bed ridden.
She can walk with the aid of the dining room chair on wheels.
I guess I am lucky. She could have dementia and not be able to do anything for herself.
Who knows what time will bring.

I've let my eating and exercise habits go. Fortunitly I am still in my weight goal. I can feel the inches adding on though.

At least I know I can lose the inner and outer thighs and hips, it is a fact!

Mom's room was our junk room. Now the den, where I exercise, is our junk room.

I know, I know, get rid of the junk. Not as easy as it sounds.

When I was up north, I was inspired to get rid of my clothes and paraphanelia. But, being back home...I lost the inspiration. Maybe a little depressed, selfishly.

Jim and I could go out to the grocery store and not worry about how long we'd be gone. I do have an ex-nurse coming to help get her up, breakfast, etc while I go to a doctor appt with Jim.

Some say I need to schedule some alone time with Jim, go out to dinner, etc. Maybe someday. Whatever.

I am blessed that I have this time with my mom and that she is of sound mind and gets around somewhat and can do somethings for herself.

Boy, am I behind the times ! I never saw this blog before now ! Oh, well....better late than never !

I guess your life is a changin' ! But like you said, you are fortunate that your mom has her wits about her. That is definitely a blessing ! My dad is the same way ; his mind is as sharp as a tack ! ( sometimes I think his mind is sharper than mine.....course it wouldn't take much anyway ! lol ) He will be 98 on the 21st of this month, and still manages to take care of himself at his home ! We'll see what time will tell !

Do you have an Area Agency on Aging nearby ? Sometimes you are able to have aides come in to help for several hours through them ! I'm not sure how they work it....but you could probably find out by calling, etc. My daughter used to work at Aging....I'll have to see what she has to say about it !

You should try and find some quiet time with your hubby if at all possible......and the main thing is to not wear yourself too thin ! Try to get a little exercise in, too.....even if it's just a tad !
Please take care of yourself, ~ Joani

Glad I found SP

Monday, March 02, 2009

What would I do without SparkPeople? I've learned how to exercise and eat. I've lost inches. My quads haven't been this thin since...can't remember. Now if I could just get my triceps in shape. I can even see some daylight between my legs when I stand with my legs together. It makes me feel more confident and I can wear smalls again!

I noticed that my quads are still a bit saggy when doing the shoulder stand. You know when you throw your legs over your head and your quadriceps are hanging in your face. Not a pretty picture.

I've got to really get into better shape, so when I go up north on vacation I won't have too much to do when I come back home. I won't have my treadmill up there or all my exercise tapes or computer...unless I can borrow time on a friend's PC. I'll know how to eat and what exercises to do while I'm away.

That's all for now.

Hello Courti, thanks so much for stopping by my page. Congratulations on maintaining. And seeing air between your legs is AWESOME, I can only DREAM about that (MAYBE in a few years, ha ha). I think I'll be able to wear Medium at goal. I hope. Yes I love SP, isn't it great what Chris Downie did for all of us, for FREE, can you believe it. Hope your week is going great!
