Working my body into shape

Omeow has given me a lot of good ideas for my cleaning and getting squat exercise. I''ve been thinking about getting down on my hands and knees and actually scrubbing the tile and grout in our kitchen, dining room and living room. That should take all day. I should be able to incorporate working some body part in all that.

Kes525 had good ideas with painting, looking at these walls and the few scraps... yeah, they could use a good coat of paint. I've had a scratch mark in our bathroom from moving furniture in 3 years ago. It's hidden behind a towel. Nice that the towel rack was placed there. How did they know I was going to scrap that spot??

I'm always so tired by evening. I get up early to give myself time to exericse, but stay up late positng. How can I get a clone?

I know this is stupid because I'm doing things for Saturday points. Duh! It's 12:12am. Well, guess I will go to bed...so I said to myself an hour ago.

Finding exercise in everyday living

I like to do cardio and strength, but I need to find a way to use cardio & strength to clean my house and gets points toward challenges. I'd be more motivated to do my Spring cleaning...oops, Spring is gone isn't it. Well, Autumn cleaning.

Now, if I get on my hands and knees and clean my tile and grout, can that be cardio? We have tile in our kitchen, dining room and living room. I'm sure I'd be getting my heart rate up, because I'd be hurrying to get it done before mealtime or whatever plans we have for the day.

Anyhow, that's what I'm working on. Hey! My yard needs racked. I feed our squirrels and they make an awful mess of peanut shells & corn under the tree, needs racked and put in garbage can.

Oh well, I'll work on it. Any ideas welcomed. It's too bad I need this motivation to do everyday chores. When will I ever grow up? I'd do it for chocolate!!

Someone did give me ideas about squats while cleaning my oven so that will go on my list. Get some exercise while working. I really need to work on my floppy triceps. Now what housework works on those? I made a goal to get in shape for my next trip up north to Ohio, maybe in April.

    Courti, I saw you were looking for a way to incorporate housework into your exercise routine and the PSC challenge we're doing with your team actually would work well. You can wash a dish, do a squat, vacuum the rug, then see how well the vacuum did by getting down and doing your pushups. Hmmmm, not sure an easy transition for the crunches, but you get the idea, just have some fun with it! I too do not like housework and think of the time I'm wasting doing that instead of working out, but hey, it's gotta be done right. And THEN I can go workout because I'm all warmed up! There, see, you can use housework as a warm-up! :-)

    I know the feeling this week we painted and wallpapered all the walls in my living room,Dining room and hallway could not believe the amount of calories burned doing this for 6.5 hours didn't get a chance to do my walking this week and was feeling bad about it but I feel much better now that I know how much I burned painting. Makes me want to do more house work emoticon.Keep up the great work and it will all pay off for you. emoticon emoticon

Getting inspired

Reading the minutes of members on my BLC#8 team has inspired me to better myself. I need to put more effort into my fitness routine. I'm making a new routine. Three separate strength routines for Mon, Wed, & Fri. BEside taking advantage of all my equipment: treadmill, stepper, stationary bike, Body By Jake, Thigh Master and TrimRider. Also, my Zumba class.

I know I'll never come close to MrsMelvin1 but I can try my best to come halfway there.

Since I've gone off my Lipitor, I need to keep up the exercies and eating healthy, if I want to stay off the med. I have bloodwork in Dec. so I've got to be good for the next month.

I need to be more involved with my teams. At least the ones that are active, but not too many teams that I can't keep up with their challenges.
One of my favorite teams isn't as active this time around so I may have to jump ship next time around.

This is my best week ever. Of course working at church for Trunk or Treat and yesterday's time has put me there. I can't match this again. Not to be negative, I just won't have the opportunities that I had this past week.

Well, guess that is it.

  You have been doing so well. Off the meds and adding 3 strength training days are two wonderful accomplishments.

Losing inches

I think I'm losing inches. At least when I cross my arms I can feel they are smaller...at least the bicep side. The triceps side still flaps in the wind. Pants are fitting looser. Unfortunately, so does my bra, when I wear one. (rarely-it's nice to be small in some cases. I hate bras). I'm glad I bought my Body By Jake for hip & thigh way back when.
If I can keep up my personal challenges on abs, arms, legs & my own 5 min cardio routine, I can make significant progress. Yay!!
