I love the Wii Fit. You really do get a workout. Yoga, strengtt and cardio.
I like the step routine. They even include the Wii people I created. It is a bit hard to run in place for 10 minutes but I manage to run a few steps forward and a few steps backward. If you get tired, you can just move your arms. It worked my waist so it wasn't cheating all the way, besides, I only did it once.

What new thing will they come out with next year that I can ask for Christmas...or hey, my birthday is in September!

Hi there ; My daughter has the Wii Fit also ! She just loves it ! ( except when it told her she was obese ! ) LOL One of my other Sparkpals just got the Fitness Coach, and she just adores that one on the Wii. Have you seen this one ? The two may be similar, I'm not sure about that ! Glad you are having fun with it and getting a good workout at the same time ! I'll have to put this on my "want" list ! emoticon ~ Joani

Is the wii fit really better than just an excercise video? All the stores are sold out of the wii fit but I was just curious if it really was good. Thanks, Dawn

Keeping to a routine

Wednesday, November 12, 2008

I notice I don't keep to a regular routine like I use to. Strength on Mon. Wed. Fri. and cardio on Tue, Thur, Sat. Now I want to do some kind of strength everyday. I have certain body parts I want in shape like, NOW!
I'm impatient and impulsive.

I used to want to be a body builder, so I can so relate. I love muscles on a man or a woman. I am not as toned as I want to be, but the important thing is we are doing some form of exercise everyday. Keep at it, and you'll see results.

    Hey Courti!
We all want to look good yesterday. When you train daily you are setting yourself up for injury, unless you are working different muscles on opposite days. The muscles need a day to recoup. You are doing a great job, be patient, I know it is hard.

Well, I weighed in on my BLC#8 team__ 91.2. Dr. B won't be please. When he noticed me losing weight he asked what I wanted to get down to and I said at least 98. He didn't want me to lose more. I'll have to be at least 95 when I go back, his scales weigh at least 2 lbs more than mine.
I get good inspiration: to exercise - my sister-in-law said I had no hips!!!
Bad inspirtation? A friend said I had floppier under arms than her. We were comparing. Guess that'll teach me to keep my floppies inside my sleeves.
Someone on a team has given me inspiration to push to do my best. She is amazing and has done wonders.
Although, I think I've been concentrating too much cardio, but it does help burn calories, but I now need to eat more. I know I don't eat within my calorie range. I try to post most of what I eat.
I need to concentrate on strength training. Floor work and weights. My under arms, lower abs and inner thighs need work. I learned a new routine from my BLC team. I'll pick three exercises and do 25 of each, next set 20, then 15, 10, 5. I think it helped my hips with the squats.
Well, gotta work out daily routines so I don't have to think of what to do when I get up in the mornings. I've worked out different strength routines but need to prefect them.
Long range goal: Be in shape for tentitive trip to Ohio in April.
Short range goal: Be in shape for Thanksgiving at my other sister-in-law's house. At least enough for her to notice.
To be fair, my floppy armed friend did say I was skinny. I guess you need friends who will be truthful and tell you how it is. Keeps me motivated.

I certainly wish that I had your problem ! You can gladly have some of my extra lbs. ( and then some ) LOL One has a tendency to eat too much at the holidays too, you know ! And Thanksgiving is just around the corner !

I have problems with floppy arms, also - Do you do any strength training with weights ? That's what I am trying to do right now ; see if that helps any with the arms. Any other exercises you know of to help with this ?

Good luck with all your endeavors ! And don't lose any more weight ! ( I never thought I would be saying this to anyone here on SparkPeople ! ) LOL emoticon

Keep moving...

Monday, November 10, 2008

Keep the body moving. Exercisee those floppy triceps and thunder thighs. Burn those calories off. My main reason to exercise is to stay off my Lipitor. Doctor is giving me a chance to stay off Lipitor if I have a good bloodwork results Dec. Eat healthy and keep moving. Also, so I won't end up with Osteoporosis. I already have Osteopenia in my hip so burn those calories and lift that weight.

Now, if I could overcome hot flashes, I'd give up my Premarin.

Working my body into shape

Saturday, November 08, 2008

Omeow has given me a lot of good ideas for my cleaning and getting squat exercise. I''ve been thinking about getting down on my hands and knees and actually scrubbing the tile and grout in our kitchen, dining room and living room. That should take all day. I should be able to incorporate working some body part in all that.

Kes525 had good ideas with painting, looking at these walls and the few scraps... yeah, they could use a good coat of paint. I've had a scratch mark in our bathroom from moving furniture in 3 years ago. It's hidden behind a towel. Nice that the towel rack was placed there. How did they know I was going to scrap that spot??
