Jill's prognosis so far

Friday, May 13, 2011

The doctor said the surgery went fine. When we went back to see Jill, she was sitting up in her bed drinking a diet soda.

Today we went to her doctor's appt and he said with the chemo she should get a year.

I figure they're always making progress in cancer research, so hopefully they will having something else that can be done by then to give her more time.

We try to keep her in good spirits and I forward all of your uplifting post. She really appreciates reading all of them and thanks all of you too.

I appreciate all of you prayer warriors. I know you are what's getting Jill through all of this. Thanks so much.

Wonderful to hear the surgery went well, and Jill is already up and alert, woo hoo! One step at a time. God is faithful, he holds our hand through the most difficult of times, he carries us gently when we feel like we cannot go on. Lean on Him, he cares. And I love the post about laughing yourself well, I've read some of those research projects, where a positive outlook and laughter did wonders for the immune system. It helped the body to create more positive chemicals, which starts a wonderful cycle of health and healing.

Here's a news flash for you. Drs. are NOT Gods. She will get a year, How does he know! My uncle Al was told he'd get a year MAYBE! That was eight years ago and He has outlasted his brothers! There is a Dr Norman Cousins who got a worse prognosis, He go all the vuideos of the Three Stooges, Abbot and Costello, Marx Bros etc and just laughed himself well from the Big C, Please look him up on the Internet! emoticon and Love to all of you! debby

Update on sil Jill

Wednesday, May 11, 2011

Today as Jill's last radiation treatment. Early tomorrow morning she goes into the hospital to have surgery to have a port put in for chemo. She's had some low BP readings and has some heart problems.

Thank you for all your continued prayers. They are very much appreciated by all of us. I forward your prayer replies to Jill. It is a comfort to her to see how many are praying for her.

The port is a good idea. My sister has had one for almost 2 years. Prayers and just is a waiting game on what happens next and really nothing you say can help her but knowing you support her is the best answer

The garage door repair guy is here now. I think he'll be able to repair door enough to work, but suggested a new hurricane door. This door was here when we moved here about 6 years ago and who knows how long it was here before that.

BLC-16 GYM 24/7 - 4/20 --4/26

Friday, April 29, 2011

I'm afraid that I didn't do very well last week.

4/20 - Option: 1,2,3......4/27 - none
4/21 - none....................4/28 - none
4/22 - none....................4/29 - none
4/23 - Option: 1,2,3
4/24 - none
4/25 - Option: 1,2,3
4/26 - Option: 1

Plus, this week so far - 4/27 - 4/29 I haven't done any. I do need some ink in my printer to copy off the exercises so I have them for the week. I don't usually call it up each day. It's been a busy time for us so I've slipped up doing the GYM work.

The Big C sucks

Friday, April 29, 2011

So many people lately diagnosed with cancer. I don't know how many I have on my prayer list: some from SP and some from my life. I just read a blog from an SP friend who lost her dil. My heart goes out to her and family.

I'm still going with my sil, Jill, and her mom to radiation. Jill will soon start chemo. With treatment she will have a longer time, God only knows how long.
She has to worry about her pain pills, insulin, etc etc. I don't know how she does it. Not bad enough to have the cancer, but diabetes too!

Yesterday was a busy day: pick her up, to he mom's, then a doctor's visit, then radiation, later meet with my dh and her son (from school) take home. She must be tired. She is taking strong pain pills.
We still have radiation today and dh will pick up her son so we can take both home. I think dh and her son are grocery shopping while we go to her treatment.
With the new pills, she seems in better spirits and getting around better.

Pain alone can take such a toil on you Courti so I am sure if the new pills take away some of the pain it puts her in better spirits because she feels like she can function.

I know that is how it is for my DH and now for me. But yep fighting the pain and diabetes (I am on insulin) can sure take it out of you.

But it seems she is a fighter and that is what will get her through and wonderful people in her life like YOU.

I am praying for strength for all of you.

It does suck big time. My Mom-in-law is doing treatment for stage 4 lung cancer, dad my died from a brain tumor, my mom lost her voice box to cancer. When I was a kid we hardly ever heard the word, if we did it was always bad news. At least now people have a chance of surviving it used to be a death sentence. It's the friends and family members who step in to help during these bad times that make it possible for people to continue on during these tomes.

I am so sorry. Cancer is a horrible disease. It took my BIL, it took my aunt, my uncle, my best friends mom. It takes away too many of those we love. Just know there are many of us who know and understand your pain and frustration. Take care.
