Now What Did I Do?

I usually have good intentions but screw something up. Iíve been trying to exercise my stomach. I want a flat stomach. Itís mainly my lower abs, that's where I have a problem, but I exercise the whole stomach area.

Saturday and Sunday I was really putting in the minutes to make some definition, upper, lower and obliques. Also, I was holding my stomach in real tight all day Sunday.

We have measurements again this Wednesday on one team, so thought last chance go to make a difference on my inches.

Now I have off and on pain under my left rib. Sometimes I get a twinge in my stomach. I know I didnít break a rib as I donít have trouble breathing and it doesnít hurt all the time.

Why do I go gunho when I should go slow? Now I guess Iíll have to lay low on those exercises.

I used a heating pad last night and took a pain pill, but still get a twinge/pain now and then.

I wonder if it is okay to workout with weights for my arms? I do need to work on my hips too. Guess those exercises shouldnít hurt my stomach/rib area.

Oh Shoot! I just joined the Stomach Must Go team. {heavy sigh}

    Hey Courti~Can't tell ya what is wrong without being able to see you in person (I am an athletic trainer and am trained in assessing injuries however, it is difficult doing so online)....what I will say is that it may just be muscular and you still can do light lower ab work ESP when doing hip things. I LOVE to incorporate my ab workouts with entire body training and rarely focus SOLELY on abs because you need your abs to be strong throughout motion...ie, when your whole body is moving. Your abs are in so many different positions that even when doing your lower and upper body exercises you should be working your abs as well.

Also quick question: When you are saying "I was holding my stomach in real tight all day Sunday." WHERE were you holding? Upper or lower?

    Couldn't tell you WHAT you did, but I hope you do get it rested and take it easy so you can heal. Sorry for your pain and that you have to slow down!!

My lower abs is my disappointing area too!

    Oh Courti, you do things big or don't do them at all, huh? Don't forget that your abs need rest days, too, between work-outs. But ouch, I hope that rib(?) feels better!

Challenge of Harry Potter - Winter Term Week #5

We had to pick 3 SMART goals to work on this term. My pick was:
1) Work on spare bedroom
2) Catch up on my reading
3) Exercise at least 20-minutes a day

This challenge we must write a blog listing our goals and what obstacles keep us from our goals and how we plan to overcome these obstacles.

I met the first goal. The bedroom looks like a bedroom now. When we went away on vacation, my dhís sister and her son stayed here. He slept in the spare bedroom. Needless to say, the bedroom is back in shape, although, I do have to wash and make the bed.

The second one to read my books is pretty well caught up. I had this goal from last term and I had read a couple books by the end of the term. I did start the next book in the series so that is my goal, to read the series. I only have one more book in the series; Iíll have to find the next two books.

The last goal is to exercise 20-min a day. I do at least 30 minutes. My normal routine is to do a 5 minute warm up then 30-minutes on the treadmill.

Obstacles:
I find that I tend to play more on Facebook farming, etc. I will cut back on my games and do more reading before getting on FB.

If there is something that comes up that I have to do in the mornings, I try to get up earlier to get my exercises in.
