Don't have the drapes back up and haven't moved everything back in yet, but here's a good view of the floors!

Of course, Rosie is on the new area rug, very happy not to be locked up today, lol. Me too!

The wood floors are IN! So beautiful! So glad it's over. It was very noisy and sooooooo dusty. The kitchen is open to the dining room and you can write your name on any surface in there. Fortunately I had been warned and cleared all the countertops.

They are coming back this morning to clean up and put my furniture back. Yay!

The installers were here for 12 hours. I sat in front of my computer almost the entire time. I was as tired at the end of the day as they were.

Poor Rosie is running around trying to figure out what happened. She spent yesterday hiding in a tiny space between boxes in the closet - terrified.

The appearance of the house has changed so much and it's spectacular. Photos later.

I ordered pizza delivered for the workers and had two slices myself. Had them bring me a grilled chicken salad and that was my dinner. This morning I weigh the same as before. I was afraid I'd sit here and munch but seem to have avoided that.

The wood samples I saw when I chose the color of wood looked a lot lighter. I was really worried that I had not found the right color and had chosen one too light. Now that it's in, it's a beautiful honey oak and matches my fireplace mantle and cabinest perfectly!

I'm so glad this is over! I'm so glad I had it done!

I guess you'd call this a "tech" link, but I'm always so interested in what's next in hi tech evolution. Long ago I kept saying one day we'd be hanging our tv on the wall like a painting and people just "humored me" lol.

We're all familiar with "smart phones", no matter if we have one or not. Smart TV couldn't be far behind, could it? The end result is bound to be a blending of all our technology into one application.

Any avid reader of Sci-Fi has always known that one day we'd have just one Console where we link up do to everthing! It will be phone/communications/tv/internet - who knows? Maybe you'll be having consults with Doctors and nurses, interior decorating stores, plant nurseries, etc. and live your typical day from the console in your living room!

Of course, the tech advance I'm really waiting for is the Transporter Closet. There will be one in every home! Key in your co-ordinates, step in and close the door and Beam Me UP Scottie! You open the door again and find yourself having dinner in Paris, or giving your grandkids in another state a real hug.

Since those Star Trek days, I've always thought that while you're transporting and re-arranging atoms, why not leave a few pounds of that belly fat behind instead of reassembling ALL of it upon arrival! LOL.

Ok, now you know how my mind REALLY works!

Of course, nothing will ever replace a walk in fresh air or some real sweat and the good feeling you get from healthy eating!

Every Friday when I am driving 2.5 hours after work to be with my husand I pray for the day when I can go to one of the bathroom stalls at work, punch a button on my cell phone and walk out of the bathroom at my lake house. Busy St. Patty's Day.

My mother arrived safely yesterday, even though the bus was 45 min. late due to a traffic jam on the interstate.

Today we'll be going to sign the lease, etc. and perhaps pick up a few things for hew new apartment (shelving for the bathroom, curtains, etc.) and get her set up with a phone, etc.

It will be a couple of weeks before my sons can get her moved here, but she has some packing to do in that time anyway.

I woke up this morning weighing LESS than yesterday, so my focus on not abandoning my eating plan while she's here is working. Of course, I'm celebrating St. Patrick's day with Joe and his famous Reuben sandwiches tonight, so I'm not out of the danger zone yet, lol.

Yesterday was cold and rainy, but today promises to be warmer and sunny, which will make all the errands with Mother much more fun.

Don't forget to wear the GREEN today, for St. Patty! (I'm Italian, but oh well)

I hope your St. Patty's day went well! Sounds like you are one busy lady. I love reubens too! I actually made a small corned beef roast in the crockpot yesterday. I put cut up potatoes on the bottom. No cabbage - just water to cover the potatoes and then added the corn beef. It came packaged with seasonings. It cooked for 8 hours and was marvelous! Report Inappropriate Comment

It is what I order all the time when out but I have them substitute turkey for the corned beef and leave the Thousand Island in the kitchen! The swiss makes it more than gooey enough!
