this is a florida native called a scrub jay they love peanuts! and nest in pepper trees .

I remember these from when we lived in California. My neighbor couldn't stand them but I thought they were very entertaining even though they are quite noisy. :)

Scrub jays are on the threatened species list in Florida. The don't nest in pepper trees but nest in scrub oak and other native bushes. They do like peanuts but it is against the law to feed them or disturb their nesting areas. You can see them in differ end scrub areas where they have enough territory as the live in groups and you will notice "guard" jays that protect the rest of the group by keeping a watch out for predators and intruders. They are fascinating birds, beautiful ans in need of further protection.

You can tell the animals trust you, with this jay taking food from your hand and the bobcat that visits your yard.
