I had been slowly but steadily losing weight for about four years on Sparkpeople. My highest weight was 225 lbs. However, I gained back 23 lbs. (from my low weight of 185) after drifting away from this great site. I've just started back at Sparkpeople again after a two year absence.

Getting back down to 185 is my interim goal.

My Goals:
I would like to lose about 40 lbs. and be able to increase my exercise.

My Program:
I swim and do water exercises three times a week. I consume around 1450 - 1750 calories per day. I have recently cut out gluten from my diet and feel better for it - less joint pain and digestive issues.

Personal Information:
I'm originally from the England and have lived in the States for 35 years. I've been married to a great guy for 44 years and have a 30 year old son and two adorable Burmese kitties.

Other Information:
I enjoy gardening, jewelry making, crafts and reading. I also volunteer with a non-profit organization and I'm a breast cancer survivor.

Hi Penny,

I'm a Penny too! I saw your post on the other Penny's page. Maybe we should start our own team! I just turned 59 and need to get back on the wagon of healthy eating and exercise. You're doing a great job on your weight loss.

Hello Penny, you can do it! Keep focusing on that photo of the slim you and see the difference between that and a current photo of you - which you are going to improve on. You have already gone down over 3 dress sizes and that is fabulous.

I bought my dress for my son's wedding in April this week, so I can't put any weight on now. I am now going to focus on exercise and toning up.

(Wish I was a size 16 - but I'm between a 16 and 18, can't wait to get down to a proper 16!).

I hope you have a wonderful trip home to see mum and dad and hope the weather is good (and also the shopping in London!!! for the new slim you!)

Hi Penny

I too am trying to get back to my pre-Christmas weight (79 kgs) which I did this week, but I have also had a lot of trouble sticking to the calorie range, so I won't be too surprised if, come Monday, I am back to 80! (80 kgs = 176 lbs, whilst 79 kgs =173.8 lbs).

At 79 kgs I was just starting to look a bit slimmer and in proportion. My mini goal is to get to 75 kgs, which should get me into a smaller dress size and give me more shopping options! That would be fantastic...

Your before and after photos on the frig are a great idea...perhaps another photo of you in the future (eg of yourself looking slim in the past, or a photo of someone else you would like to look like?) would be another motivator to help you get to how you'd like to look for the trip?

I am so jealous that your going to the UK, where are you headed for? I love the UK and would love to spend our winter (summer there) every year...oh well I can dream can't I?

Let me know how your new 'Maker's Diet' is going, if its any good I'll give it a try. I do eat healthy now too, but my pitfall is when I get home in the evening. I prepare my food for the day and take it to work with me but when I get home I just browse for snacks (sometimes before and after dinner!)

Hi Penny, how's the plans for the UK trip going? How are you doing with your goals for that?

I am stuck on 80 kgs but hope to do better this week (my son's wedding is only 1-1/2 months away and I still don't have a dress!!!)

A busy weekend has spoiled my good intentions of advance food preparation a little. But still determined to do it and will try and make something extra every day.

Its been a bad weekend for me too, with dinner out Saturday night and lunch again yesterday. But I am determined this week to get back on track and try and undo some of the damage!

Good luck this week and the extra vegies in the pasta (and other recipes) is a beaut idea! Jeneve
