I am clinically morbidly obese. At my last doctor's appointment, he informed me that I am teetering on the line of prediabetes. This scared me into FINALLY doing something about my problem.

**UPDATE** 04.15.14
I have lost 106 pounds. My weight loss has S L O W E D considerably, which I have come to accept. I have turned my efforts from fat loss to muscle gain, and I have decided to train for a 5K.
My first race is this May and I am super excited to participate...
that and I'm getting a really cute First Race Outfit!

I have lost 100 pounds.
It's such an accomplishment, I'm going to take a quick break from weight loss and re-evaluate my goals.

**UPDATE** 12.29.13
Here it is, the last few days of 2013. The Christmas rush is over, the family has gone back to their homes in different states. It's time to reflect on another year.
A lot has happened to me this year.
The biggie is that I reached my goals I made in early January. I have never kept a New Year's resolution. And since I have lost 91 pounds this year, I feel like anything is possible!

I have met my first goal of losing 70 pounds and officially I have lost a total of 76 pounds!
I love my new life....why didn't I start earlier?

**UPDATE** 07.23.15
I have officially stopped losing weight. And that is a good thing. My goal weight was 155 pounds.
I have abandoned that goal and have decided that my current weight...158...is where I want to be. I have started to lift weights and I seriously am digging on the kettlebells.
I am also loving yoga.
In all my efforts, I have slowed down on cardio. The only cardio I will do are nice long bike rides in the city, or short stair-stepper workouts at the gym.

Run my first 5K this May.


My Program:
We bought a treadmill and joined the gym. We are at the gym 3 times a week & spend the other days on our treadmill. We also increased our veggie intake and eliminated lunch meat, chips and juices. Baby steps.
**UPDATE** 1.2.14
I changed up my workout routine a bit.
I do 2 days a strength training circuit,
a Monday night bootcamp,
a Saturday morning indoor cycling class,
and 1 or 2 days on a elliptical.
Since I am a borderline
diabetic, I eat every 3-4 hours, which is a challenge, but I have to make it happen.
I eat clean with fresh food. No boxes, bags or cans of food. It does take extra effort, but well worth it.

UPDATE: 04.15.14
I dialed back on the cardio.
I try to get 3-4 days of strength training and 2-3 days of running, a Monday evening cross fit class and a Saturday morning Yoga class.

I quit smoking in 2004. Big step in the right direction, but, I gained alot of weight. After years of "dieting", Im really ready for a lifestyle change.
