Typing with 1 Finger, No Friend Adds Please

Accurately tracking my food and fitness is what keeps me maintaining my weight loss. Thanks to Sparkpeople for getting me there!

Having RA since age 6.5, and years of hospital stays and surgeries (38 operations and counting) have kept me on a weight loss roller coaster my entire adult life. I have five artificial joints, but love to work out, the higher intensity the better. I have three forms of arthritis destroying my body, but fight to keep moving every body part they damage. That is all that stands between me and a wheelchair. My favorite fitness classes are Boxercise, Step & Zumba! My trusty elliptical keeps me moving on the days I can't get out. Winters are long and hard here and even more challenging to keep moving.
I can only type with one finger so request you do not add me as friend as its all I can do to keep up with the great friends I already have!! Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read this!

Beck pink is her first book, The Beck Diet Solution. It has a workbook, too, and that's the one I want to do again now. The green one (I think it is The Complete Beck Diet Solution) I doubt I'll do again. It has a food plan that I don't think is very good; definitely doesn't meet my needs. The blue one (is written with her daughter and is about food traps- don't remember the title at the moment) is good, too. I might review that one after the pink. Also, the blue book kind of tells me what she thinks is most important and what I can pay less attention to. The blue book, though, does not have as many exercises and food challenges that I think are helpful. Having a coach is important in the pink book. In the green book she wants you to have a diet buddy. But in the blue book there is no coach, no buddy, but about 3 times she wants you to check with a friend about your thinking. For someone who has never done Beck, I'd say start with the pink one.

Linda, In your case I don't think there was any disconnect between your words and your actions. It was not a situation of lack of motivation. Your body simply would not let you accomplish your goal. I'm very sorry that you could not complete the pharmacy training. You have gone on to do the very most your body will allow you and you should be very proud of that. Take care. -Marsha
