Accurately tracking my food and fitness is what keeps me maintaining my weight loss. Thanks to Sparkpeople for getting me there!
Having RA since age 6.5, and years of hospital stays and surgeries (38 operations and counting) have kept me on a weight loss roller coaster my entire adult life. I have five artificial joints, but love to work out, the higher intensity the better. I have three forms of arthritis destroying my body, but fight to keep moving every body part they damage. That is all that stands between me and a wheelchair. My favorite fitness classes are Boxercise, Step & Zumba! My trusty elliptical keeps me moving on the days I can't get out. Winters are long and hard here and even more challenging to keep moving.
I remain on Sparkpeople to keep up with the great friends I have made!! They are my role models and supporters Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read this!

Thank you very much for stopping by my recent blog about "All or Nothing" - I'm just so relieved that others often feel the same way as I do.

Your comment on my status got me thinking about the winds here in NL. Just a few days ago I was out for a walk in a new area and as I was walking along a narrow path (bordering a very steep drop off to the river below) I thought....maybe I shouldn't be here with all this wind. Actually you came to mind (you usually do when I'm walking!) and I thought how you and your mother manage to hike all those wonderful routes.

Thanks for commenting on my reflections blog. It was a total bummer to have the heart attack after making so many changes! The doctor did say that it probably helped me to notably have a minor one (if there is such a thing) and definitely helped me recover. In some ways it was a blessing as I am more committed than ever to not only keep off the weight but to stick to all my new health habits.

It is amazing to hear that I inspire others here and if so, that makes me happy. I really want people to know that you can lose weight AND keep it off.

Thanks for the goodie! And guess what? I have IBS too but mild but I do understand the misery. I have never looked into it but there are guidelines for us on how to eat to diminish or get rid of symptoms. And as far as a personal trainer (your goodie), you are right! I did some work with a personal trainer in the past and it helped so much but it was $40 a session and that's too much for me. I hope to be able to do it in the future. emoticon
