A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.

Okay so I never thought I would gain weight back to the degree that I have but I CAN NOT CHANGE WHAT I DON'T ACKNOWLEDGE


Part two of my Sparks journey begins and it is time to take it to the next level.

I WILL LEARN TO EAT RIGHT AND NOT JUST COUNT CALORIES BUT TO CHOOSE FOODS THAT ARE GOOD FOR MY BODY.

I REALIZE THAT WE MUST EXERCISE AT LEST 3-5 DAYS A WEEK TO SUPPORT A GOOD HEALTHY LIFESTYLE.

Here is my story:
For many years I have let my weight take control of my life, control of my self worth. As a child I was always thin able to eat whatever I wanted to this continued on until I reached my mid- twenties.

After the birth of my first child I gained 55lbs(leaving me with an extra 20.lbs).Then almost four years later I had my second child gained another 50lbs.(leaving me with and additional 20.lbs.)I had large babies so I did lose a big amount of the weight but I was left with extra each time. This combined with terrible eating habits. Yikes!!

So when I was thirty I began to exercise I did manage to lose quite a bit of weight but I did not learn the value of a healthy LIFESTYLE in turn I gained all my weight back and then more over the years. I thought working out hard would help me keep the weight off for life.

I now realize that eating healthy for life and exercise is the only way!!! It has taken me 15 years of failure to get me to this POINT OF NO RETURN. I am doing this the right way for life I will not be on one more diet, I will not be the fat girl, the fat sister, the fat wife etc....


I will not feel shame when I run in to someone that has not seeing me in a while or at a family gathering.
I believe that if it was not for our failures there would be no success.
Remember it is only a failure if you didn't learn by it.
Watch and see ME it will happen I will get fit and healthy this is my goal.

You sound a bit like me. As a young adult, I could eat as much as I wanted and remained only 110 lbs. But my first baby brought 45 lbs. I have three sons, two of whom weighed 9 lbs. Now, I am 70 years old and I have learned that large babies is a warning sign to watch out for diabetes. I have had my DNA typed, and I found out I have a deficiency in MTHFR. It is a common deficiency, in 40 percent of the population or more. My half-sister has it too, but she has it from both parents. We take Metafolin because I found out about it from DNA matches I found. It is connected to miscarriage, birth defects, memory problems, DNA repair, etc. My sister takes it because he doctor prescribed it to control homocysteine. It is folate in a more usable form. I have had a terrible time losing any weight at all, now that I am older. My sugar had gotten high, but not diabetic. I've been checking it every day, eating less sugary treats, and I weighed 1 lb. less today. It seems like your body changes after having babies. I go to the gym 2X week, I ride my bike, and I use a fitbit to count steps. I'm not as active as I should be. I wanted to tell you about myself in case you might have a similar situation. It might be good to check sugar; even a little bit high can be detrimental. I'm feeling better on Metafolin, with better moods, more energy. But I think controlling carbs has helped too. I hope you're feelin tip-top!
