I had a goal to lose 60 lbs. this year (2008) and keep it off. . .

That was my goal when I first joined SP but I fell off the treadmill right on to the Peanutbutter jar. I had lost a total of 58 lbs almost three years ago and then slowly gained back 18. I am doing good and plan, hope, want, to add exercise this week. At first I figured the diet part was enough, and it is going good, but I know I need the exercise too.

So now my goal is to lose the 60lbs by the end of 2009.

My Goals:
My Goal for 2010 is just to get below 200 lbs. That is it. I'd be happy with that and it only requires a 5 lb drop so that is my goal. Doesn't sound like much but since I have been trying for many years I have decided on more realistic goals.

My Program:
I have recently had a big change in my life. I had my yearly blood test and things did not look good. I refuse to take more pills so I have gone Vegetarian (97%) just to get my numbers in line again. I am tying to adjust and eat less all at the same time. Well see how it goes.

Other Information:
I love to read. I read my bible almost daily. My favorite Author is Jamie Langston Turner, but I also like Ted Dekker and Tim Downs. I am part of bookoholics and two Christian book clubs on Eons. My favorite movie is Sense and Sensibility.

The best of luck to you. I too am trying to get off of some of my meds. I am diabetic with high blood pressure and other health problems. 90% of these problems are caused by excess weight. It can be done. I have had good luck so far by taking it slow and steady. You can do it. It is so worth it.

Welcome & good luck to you!
Try to pick thru the site every day & be sure to read as often
( daily for me) as your schedule permits. I have learned a ton!
Just remember to stay focused and take it in small steps. Lots of small steps are easier than a big leap. Don't try to be perfect, just a bit better each day, than the day before. Its 1 day at a time thing. Today is all any of us has. Don't fret over yesterday - its gone. Stay positive. You aren't alone here unless you wanna be & Together we can do it! And above all else Smile - it makes people wonder what you're up to! 8D

Hello & welcome Sue,
Good to have you with us here at 50+ members and on any other teams you may join..... I'll help you through your journey if you need it. I'm here to support and encourage you forward. If you fall back, I'm here to catch you and show you the right direction if need be.

I'll try to be supportive to you and to encourage you on the journey you are taking. I'll be along side you to your goal(s) and all the way. And to you good luck and to take 1 day at a time. Take advantage of what Spark has to offer. I would like to see you accomplish the goal(s) you have and I'm there for you too.
Stay focused and have a positive attitude, b/c those will help you in the long way............... It's good to meet and have you with us.

To STAY MOTIVATED I DO THIS ALL THE TIME:::
1) come in and read the posts
2) read and join any teams that you think you like
3) get it know the people
4) read some articles
5) most of all :: have fun and enjoy yourself
You are doing great, making progress every time you come in.

If there is anything that I can do to help, give me a holler. If I do not know the answer, I will find it. Our leaders are really great and help when you need it too. So don't hesitate to ask. That is why they are here.

Don't give into your temptations. They are bad and will set you back. You want to move forward, have good habits ( like eating your veggies, fruits) and come in here. We all are here for you and other members too.
