Rededicating myself to ME!

Update - 2/18/15
I've allowed myself to get way the heck off track. I've watched the numbers on the scale going back up. Watched as my body has gotten back out of shape and just let it happen under the pretense that it's an adjustment to becoming vegan. Well enough is enough. I will not lose all my forward progress! I am rededicating myself to me!

From here on out it's all about the choices I make in the moment. Each choice affects my future. They never seem like a big deal ...

From here on out it's all about the choices I make in the moment. Each choice affects my future. They never seem like a big deal in the moment but they certainly have a lasting affect on my body and my progress. Will my next choice be a healthy one or a damaging one? Only I can answer that! It's all up to me!


My journey began on 1/1/13. I did great for a few months. Lost 40 lbs, went down a couple of sizes, and felt really great about myself. Then I hit the dreaded plateau. I stayed there for weeks and weeks. Then I gave up. It happened slowly but it surely happened. Over the next 6 months I managed to gain back 10-15 pounds. Fortunately I didn't have to switch back to bigger clothes (cause I got rid of all of them). I tried a few times after that to get back on track but my heart was never in it so it didn't work.

Then in March of 2014 my husband and my best friend staged a two person, two day intervention. It was the worst two days of my life. We are all very stubborn people and we fought that whole time. I realize they did it because they love me, and they learned that the way they approached me with it, was not a way that works for me... Needless to say we moved past it, but I came out of it with something to prove.

I decided to give this whole weight loss thing one more chance to work. I've been busting my hump to either lose weight or prove to them both that even with a healthy diet and exercise my body won't let go of the fat. I figured no matter the outcome I'd win either way.

Since that horrible week in March I've had my ups and downs and in the beginning... a lot of downs. Lately though, I can see real progress! I've lost 22 pounds since restarting my commitment in March and overall I've lost over 48 pounds from my heaviest weight! I'm doing great and getting better everyday! I've changed my life for the better and I'm not gonna quit now!

Update 9/13/14
I did the Summer 5% challenge and I did great for the majority of the challenge! Unfortunately like in the past my vacation kind of derailed my routine. Then a new job and a new school year for the kids further derailed my routine. I have been fortunate enough to be able to say that I haven't really gained (maybe 3 pounds) since my lowest weight so far and since then I have been maintaining. Phew!

It's time for the Fall challenge to begin though and it can't come soon enough! I need the commitment to keep me accountable. To push me to exercise daily and to track my food intake! I look forward to seeing how far I can push myself this challenge! Let's go SUDS!!!!

Update 11/3/14
I gave up on the Fall Challenge. I almost gave up on me. I can't do that... EVER! So I'm going to begin again. I make no promises, but I will work toward a healthier me. That's all I can do, everyday, just keep moving forward!

My Program:
Spring 5% Challenge
My exercise plan for this upcoming challenge is to do strength 3 days a week and cardio 3 days a week. It looks like this...
Mon - Chest / Triceps
Tues - Cardio
Wed - Back / Biceps
Thurs - Cardio
Fri - Shoulders / Abs
Sat - Long Cardio

If the weather is nice and my shins feel good I may take walks on my lunches too. I'm going to listen to my body on that.

Spring 5% Challenge Nutrition Plan

Counting Calories using the Spark tracker. I eat entirely vegan so this is harder to do as some of the foods I eat are high in cals. (beans, pasta and such) I have to figure out how to work around not having the lean protein I had last time I was able to lose weight (chicken, fish). I have faith in myself that I will figure it out though!

I missed our Team sign up and was NOT-A-Dawg this past challenge and missed these crazy mutts so much, I just hafta get back into the kennel. Together we CAN DO THIS!!
