When the Zombies attack, I'd like to run away

Weight Watchers failed me like five times, or rather, I failed it. One day, I was like "Wouldn't it suck if the Zombies attacked and I couldn't run away?"

That was four Mondays ago. I've now walk/jogged every weekday since and sometimes on the weekends. I've been swimming some and I've pulled out the Igallop and have a little runner's high thing going on.

But mostly I fear zombies...

My Goals:
Be able to escape a Zombie who is chasing me.

My Program:
Ok, based on a scientific study of zombie movies and the fact that I'm doing the couch to 5k program, I've determined that Zombies don't run that fast but can run up to 5k at a time. So I'm working up to that.

I think they swim about a mile or two an hour, so I'm working on that.

And I'm throwing in some cycling and Igallop. I've never seen a Zombie ride a bike or a horse but why take chances?

* I think they might be just as afraid of us as we are of them. I could be wrong on that though.

I actually think about Zombies all of the time...it never occurred to me that I might be able to outrun them. I always figured that if the Apocalypse came, I'd die. Thanks for giving me a new perspective.

You're the first person I've seen on Sparkpeople devoted to pre-zombie apocalypse fitness. You're my new hero. :) I didn't start sparkpeople or the c25k to outrun zombies, but I still find myself constantly thinking about if I'm fast enough yet while going around the track. I'm also working on my upper body strength, because if they do manage to grab me, I need to be able to shake them off, right? :)

Good luck with z-day. You're certainly someone I would like to have in my survival party.

(P.S. I'm not really obsessed with zombies, but find it all vastly amusing and it really does occur to me if I could outrun a hypothetical zombie.)
