I've been on the heavy side for almost my entire life. I've also been on a lot of different diets. Sure, I'd lose 10-15 pounds...only to gain it back when i went off the diet.
Then in my sophomore year of high school, I finally decided that I wasn't going to be 'the fat kid' anymore. I cut back on my food portions and had daily outside activities due to being in the high school band. After that, the weight just seemed to melt off. Over the course of a year and a half, I lost a total of 100 pounds. I went from a size 22/24 to a size 12/14. I felt great. But after some hardships were thrown into the mix my freshman year of college, I went back home. All of a sudden I was eating sporadically again and just laying in front of the television. I had no energy and was depressed for the better part of a year. Needless to say, I gained all of my lost weight back, and probably a little more.

Fast forward to three, almost four years later (now)and I find out that my mother has diabetes, and that I could get it too, if I didn't get myself healthy. I was on a fast track right to her situation. So I made a decision. Enough of being tired all the time. Enough of feeling self conscious when I went out with all of my gorgeous, skinny friends. ENOUGH of feeling like I wasn't good enough.
My friend and her husband recently joined Snap Fitness about a month and a half ago and told me about it. I went with her on a trial run to get a feel of the gym. I Loved the atmosphere. But it wasn't until a month or so later that I decided to join. I was so excited about joining and finally getting in shape for good. For life. For the past two and a half weeks, we've been under close watch of a personal trainer. She's working with us for six weeks. We count calories, eat healthy, and work out like you wouldn't believe.
I've never felt more sure about something before in my life. I know this is how it's supposed to be. How I'm supposed to get healthy. So far, I've lost 10 pounds and almost a size in my clothes over the past two weeks working with my trainer. She's my 'Jillian'. I know it's going to take a lot of hard work, but I'm ready and willing to make a change.

Personal Information:
Art is pretty much it for me. I live and breathe it when I'm not working, with friends or family, or working out. I love photography and would love to go to art school sometime in the near future. I'm ready to take control of my life and make a change for the better for ME.
