The Last TIme

This is my final journey towards getting healthy. I lost 100 pounds 10 years ago on WeightWatchers and was very happy. Then life happened. I gained it all back double. I am very ashamed and disgusted with my actions but depression tends to lead me down this path.

This is my final journey towards getting healthy. I lost 100 pounds 10 years ago on WeightWatchers and was very happy. Then life happened. I gained it all back double. I am very ashamed and disgusted with my actions but depression tends to lead me down this path.

I started my journey again in September 2011 and have lost about 75 pounds so far. I have been doing WeightWatchers again. After a 5 month hiatus I am trying to switch it up and try something new. I am so glad to find SparkPeople. Counting mainly calories just seems to be simpler and gives me a sense of freedom to eat a wider variety of foods. I tend to eat the same things over and over on WW just because I know how many points the food has and then I get into a rut.

After one week on SparkPeople I have lost 7 pounds, ate a variety of foods and did not feel deprived at all. I know this is a huge loss for one week and will not continue but it is a good start and has given my encouragement. I have also exercised more this week than I have in a long time. I am looking forward to the future on my new life plan.

My Goals:
My first goal is to reach 100 pounds lost.

My Program:
I am enjoying the freedom of just counting calories and exercising. I try to eat a wide variety of food so that I do not get into a rut and lose interest. This is a life change and you need variety in life.

I also try to swim for an hour at least 2 times a week and walk at least 30 minutes a day when not swimming. Since I have a dog though I am required to walk a bit everyday regardless. He is my little helper. Thank you Chester.

Personal Information:
My goal is to move to Alaska within the next 10 years.

What I love about the SP plan is its flexibility.
Ok, I love much more than that here but in terms of the comparison between WW, other 'diets' and SP? Flexibility within a sensible plan. Denying nothing, but making us accountable to ourselves for portion control and balance of basic nutrients. My experience here has been an education in self-awareness. And let's face it: awareness is the foundation of change. Not awareness of the negatives but of the positives!! Glad you return to SP. Absorb all you can; and..
