I have tweeked the program a bit and have found what best works for me . I actually believe that all the programs out there work best when not taken at face value. Everyone is as different as a snowflake ! That is for sure ....

The biggest change I have noticed in the last few months from this way of eating is emotionally .I feel a sense of "happy "and lightness every day ! I don't mean I don't have bad days because I do ..it is just that evidently ... there IS something to getting all the proper nutrients into your body .I am convinced it changes your brain !
Also , I am a foodie . Love to eat and also love to cook. With this program I have found that I am able to so both with satisfaction !
I feel like I have the base now that I did not have before.

You know, It is a pretty awesome thing to be enjoying food tremendously AND losing your excess weight at the same time !

My Goals:
Happily , I reached my short term weight loss goal of 10 LBs. by April 11th, 2011.
My next short term goal is 5 more lbs.on or before July 4th 2011. That will be a grand total of 17 pounds .
That goal has been met !!

My next goal is 10 lbs.
I don't feel pressured, since I continue to make this lifestyle permanent.

My Program:
Paleo 90% of the time works best for me !

Right now I am doing les Mills body pump twice a week , 2 yoga classes and treadmilling and hiking in between

Personal Information:
I live in the great Pacific Northwest and enjoy Skiing , Yoga , the gym , cooking , entertaining , kabitzing with friends . shopping , reading , love bookstores , love learning , good wine , a well made martini once in a while...

Other Information:
I stopped smoking Seven years ago. It wasn't easy and while I am grateful I did it , I am now learning how I can also shed the excess weight it created, that makes me feel " less than". Don't like that feeling ...don't want it !
I started here at Sparkpeople in October 2010 and lost 5 lb. the low cal standard way . I then put it back on pretty much right away and was wrestling with an out of control obsession with food .
The program that is workng the best for me is Nell Stephenson's version of a "plate" and how to fill it at each meal and snack. Her book Paleoista , really brings it all together for women, (IMO) .
I feel a mental and physical contentment from this way of eating that seems to be adding value in all aspects of my life .So far soooo

Hi Zoey! I just checked my sparkpage and saw that you visited me. I was in Eugene all last week at a conference. Then my friend flew in and joined me. We drove up the coast yesterday, and today went to Mt. St. Helens. Spectacular, but unfortunately, we didn't get to see the crater due to clouds. Oregon is beautiful! We're going sightseeing in Portland tomorrow, then off to the Columbia River Gorge for an overnight, and then back to Eugene to fly home. I love Oregon - what a beautiful place you get to live in!
