When I started working on my health goals in 2010 I spent most of my day either working or commuting to work. I was so happy to find a place to work on my goals for better health. When I started working on my health goals in 2010 I spent most of my day either working or commuting to work. I was so happy to find a place to work on my goals for better health. In April of 2011 I bought a house much closer to work and only have a 30 min. drive on way to work instead of 1 1/2-2 hour drive one way. My original starting weight was 277 and I lost weight in 2010-2011 until last Fall when I got sick and gained all of the weight back plus some extra weight. I started working on my goals again in April of 2012 at 284 and I have been losing weight since April 1, 2012. I am currently at 249 lb and want to get down to 135. I have modified my diet but probably need to monitor my intake a little better. My progress has slowed down in the past couple of months so I am coming back to Spark People for extra support. I know I will achieve my goals with the help and encouragement of others who are on the same journey. I love all the information and support of this website. I especially love the meal planner, it helps me see where I am doing well or need to do better.

My Goals:
My goals are to drink 8 glasses of water a day, to modify foods that I like to lower calorie versions by using stevia and sugar substitutes and lower fat items in receipes, to eat under 1800 calories per day.
My Program:
I am trying to walk atleast 30-45 min. 7 x's a week either outside or on the treadmill or with my walking video, and to eat under 1600 calories per day. I am losing slowly, but I am trying to make a lifestyle change not just diet.
Personal Information:
I am originally from Wisconsin, but have lived on the east coast since 1982 and lived in Virginia since 1989. I love to decorate my home, spend time with my pets and friends and find strength in my Christian faith. I also love movies, art, music and nature. I have spent a lot of my life living in the country.
Other Information:
I love Sparks People, it is helping me to reach my goals to be a healthier person.
