Starting Over.....yet again.

I'm Christine, 49 year old mom of three sons; 22, 18 &15 and married 25 years to my hubby, David. I started SP at the end of July 2011 with a new mindset and lost 31.2 lbs. by March 2012. Truth is, it is very difficult to stick with a new eating lifestyle if the rest of the family isn't on board. My hubby has always been a fitness buff and does not have a weight problem. My three boys eat like bottomless pits and are skinny as rails. It's hard to be around all of their snacking and be strict. ...
And doesn't it always seem like when you start watching your diet, there is some kind of celebration and the food is always a central thing. Ugh! I just didn't care anymore and ate whatever. Of course, all the weight came back on. So I am starting over again. It's June, probably the best time to begin. I can get outside and go walking. Fruits and veggies are plentiful and I do love to eat them. I'll be looking for inspiration and hope to be inspiration for someone else.
My weight has always been an issue. I never feel good about myself when I am fat. I feel like a slob and a failure. I have been up and down over the years. My greatest weight loss started in 2003. Family issues led to much anxiety and I just couldn't eat. It wasn't the healthy way to lose 60 pounds in about 10 months time. I managed to keep it off for about 4 years then it seems when I was comfortable with life I started to put the weight back on. I just wanted to eat what I wanted and that was that. By 2009, I had regained 37 pounds. I went on Nutrisystem and took off 19 pounds but I couldn't stomach that food anymore. Two years later and I have regained that 19 plus 10 more. I am ready to lose this weight for good and have a regular work out plan just so I can be and feel healthy. My goal is to lose at least 40 pounds and keep it off. Addendum 6/28/14: Still have that goal. Starting over again. Big change this time is no sugar or carbs in my diet. 12 days post detox and I feel great! Do not crave sugar anymore. I am afraid to have a coffee because I only enjoy it with cream and sugar, although I can tolerate it with only cream. I just don't want to start that slippery slope again. I figure if I haven't missed coffee after 12 days, why bother with it? After 7 days of detox I lost 7 pounds!! I want to keep that momentum going. I am rejoining sparkpeople to keep track of my calories and fitness. The other change I made was joining Overeaters Anonymous. I finally admitted I was a sugar addict. I found a great sponsor. I feel very hopeful that I will succeed this time.I look forward to my progress.

My Goals:
My new goal: eliminate sugar and processed carbs from my diet. That is where my down fall is. I crave it. Proud to say I went through a 7 day detox and haven't had any sugar or grains/starches since 6/17/14.

My Program:
I am realizing for me in order to succeed, I must eliminate any kind of sugar from my diet. Otherwise, it's a viscous circle and I crave it. Diets that allow all foods in moderation do not work because the sugar is still there (bread, grains, rice, ets.) I am doomed to go back to bad habits because that's what I feel deprived of. Now, after detox, I have no cravings!! I feel so much better. The fog has lifted. I think I have a much better chance of succeeding and keeping the weight off. My diet right now is based on veggies at every meal, including breakfast (green smoothies rock); 3 fruit a day; 4-6 oz. of protein or dairy 3 xs and 2 protein shake snacks made with unsweetened almond milk. No eating after dinner.

Personal Information:
I reside in Connecticut.

Other Information:
I am wife and mom; an RHIT working from home.
